10 Noise Regulations for the Gensets below 1000 kva All DG sets up to 1000 kvamust have acoustic enclosures, with noise below 75dBA at distance of 1 meter, at 75% load. Effective from 1-Jan

11 Noise Regulations for the Gensets above 1000 kva Noise from DG sets shall be controlled by providing an acoustic enclosure or treating the room acoustically, at the users end. The acoustic enclosure or acoustic treatment of the room shall be designed for minimum of 25 db (A) insertion loss or for meeting the ambient noise, which ever is on the higher side. 12 Existing Diesel Generator Sets Emission Regulations in India Applicable for Engines above 800 kwm The Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India, has notified Emissions standards for Diesel Gensets from 800 kw - 75 mw / 150 mw. ( Ref. 23 IMO Regulations The NOx control requirements of Annex VI apply to install marine diesel engine of over 130 kw output power other than those used solely for emergency purposes irrespective of the tonnage of the ship onto which such engines are installed. Definitions of Installed and marine diesel engine are given in regulations 2.12 and 2.14 respectively. Different levels (Tiers) of control apply based on the ship construction date, a term defined in regulations 2.19 and hence 2.2, and within any particular Tier the actual limit value is determined from the engine s rated speed: Tier Ship Construction date on or after Total weighted cycle emission limit (g/kwh) n = Engine's rated speed (rpm) n < 130 n = n 2000 I 1 January II 1 January n-0.2 e.g., 720 rpm n-0.23 e.g., 720 rpm III 1 January 2016* n-0.2 e.g., 720 rpm 2.4 * subject to a technical review to be concluded 2013 this date could be delayed, regulation
