3 Section 1: Introduction WELCOME! You ve made the smart investment in a geothermal system. We understand the number of available options you could of chose from, and we thank you for choosing us. Not only are you going to enjoy better comfort, but noticeable energy savings as well. On top of it all, you re the proud owner of one of the most environmentally friendly technologies around. The purpose of this manual is to acquaint you with some of the features of your new geothermal system, as well as cover a few basic maintenance items that will ensure you ll be enjoying your system for years to come. If at anytime you have a question regarding your system, contact your installer listed below. The WV series contains a case cooling fan with an air filter to keep the internal cabinet clean. The filter should be checked annually and replaced as needed. The unit does not need to be turned off in order to change the filter. The mounting plate remains secured to the door during the entire process. Using a flat blade screw driver, turn the 1/4 turn fasteners to release the filter guard/cover. Once the filter guard is removed, the exposed filter can be removed and replaced with a new one, Enertech P/N: RF 119. Place the guard back in place and turn the fasteners to hold it in place. Should a sensor need to be reset more than once in a 24-hour period or if resetting becomes regular (repeatedly once a week or more) contact your Dealer/Installer. 4 Section 2: Important Information ALARMS The WV contains an advanced suite of sensors for system protection and optimal running conditions. If a problem should occur, these sensors will quickly identify the issue. In such a situation, the HMI presents an audible alarm, red LED, and a flashing ALARM menu on the screen. 6 Section 3: Standard Residential Warranty - Hydron Module Brand LLC for brands: Hydron Module Residential Single Family, Owner Occupied YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY ON VS/VT MODEL HEAT PUMPS Starting May 25, 2017 EXCLUSIVE TO CREATIVE ENERGY DISTRIBUTORS LLC warrants the compressor of a VS or VT model geothermal heat pump to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and maintenance for a period of TEN (10) years from the Warranty Commencement Date (as defined below). Other internal components of the VS or VT model geothermal heat pump are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and maintenance for a period of FIVE (5) years from the Warranty Commencement Date. LLC warrants selected accessories, which includes residential class flow centers (excludes commercial class as defined below), internal plenum and closed coupled heaters (excludes AXH Series Duct Heaters ), Mortex air handlers, and Mortex A-coils, to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of FIVE (5) years from the Warranty Commencement Date when purchased with a Hydron Module geothermal heat pump. EWC zone controls and EWC zone dampers (excludes spring return models) are warranted by the manufacturer s TEN (10) year coverage. EWC spring return dampers are warranted by the manufacturer s FIVE (5) year coverage. Non Enertech or non dealer name branded thermostats are covered by the manufacturer s THREE (3) year warranty. Duct Heaters are covered by the manufacturer s ONE (1) year warranty. LLC warrants Hydron Module branded thermostats for a one-time replacement within a period of FIVE (5) years from the Warranty Commencement Date when purchased with a Hydron Module geothermal heat pump. LLC warrants all internal components of the geothermal heat pump and selected accessories that include residential class flow centers (excludes commercial class ), internal plenum and closed coupled heaters (excludes AXH Series Duct Heaters ), EWC zone controls, EWC zone dampers (excludes spring return models), Mortex air handlers, and Mortex A-coils, with service labor allowances related to servicing, removing or reinstalling parts for any defect in materials and workmanship as set forth above for a period of FIVE (5) years from the Warranty Commencement Date when purchased with a Hydron Module geothermal heat pump. Labor allowances are intended to assist in the offset of contractor s repair costs and may not cover the full amount of labor charged by the servicing contractor. The Warranty Commencement Date is equal to the geothermal heat pump s date of shipment from LLC if the system has not been registered. For systems that have been registered with LLC, the Warranty Commencement Date will be equal to the geothermal heat pump s installation date or TWELVE (12) months from the geothermal heat pump s date of shipment from LLC, whichever comes first. Commercial Class flow centers include all NPM series multi-circuit models, GT Series flow centers, and 2 SuperBrute XL Pressurized flow centers. These items will be covered by their manufacturer s stated warranty. CONDITIONS AND EXCLUSIONS: The Limited Warranty only applies if the following conditions are met: A. This Limited Warranty will not apply and shall be null and void if the LLC serial number has been altered, defaced or removed. B. This Limited Warranty shall be null and void if the LLC unit has been disconnected or removed from the location of original installation, or if dealer-seller has not been paid in full for the unit. C. This Limited Warranty shall not apply to unit failure or defect caused by improper installation, field modification, improper electric power delivery from local electric company or other battery, powered generator or stand-by devices, improper maintenance or misuse including operation during building construction, corrosion caused by airborne contaminants, chlorine or salt air exposure, corrosive liquids or water (see installation manuals for water quality guidelines), abuse, neglect, Act of God, outdoor installation, damage from abuse, accident, fire, flood and the like, or to defects or damage caused by the use of any attachment, accessory or component not authorized by LLC. D. Replacement or repaired parts and components are warranted only for the remainder of the original warranty period, as stated above. E. This Limited Warranty applies only to LLC residential single family, owner occupied use units sold and installed by a trained, independent, contractor-customer of LLC, or an authorized representative and/or distributor, in the United States or Canada, and subjected to normal usage as described and rated on the applicable descriptive sheet for such unit. This warranty shall not be valid if equipment is not installed in accordance with methods prescribed in our data and technical manuals and in compliance with local codes. Improper installation may endanger the occupants of the dwelling. Contractor or customer must complete the on-line or printed warranty registration available at warranty-registraion.enertechgeo.com within ninety (90) days after unit installation or TWELVE (12) months from LLC s ship date, whichever is earlier. F. The obligation for LLC under this Limited Warranty is expressly limited to replacement of any parts or components as specified and found within the cabinet. LLC reserves the right to replace defective components under warranty with new or reconditioned parts. G. LLC does not warrant equipment which has been custom built or modified to purchaser-user specifications. LLC offers a reduced ENERGY STAR minimum GEOTHERMAL UNIT warranty covering the REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT, PARTS and SERVICE LABOR ALLOWANCE for FIVE (5) years and SELECT PARTS, UNIT ACCESSORIES and SERVICE LABOR ALLOWANCE for TWO (2) years. 8 Section 3: Standard Residential Warranty - GeoComfort Brand LLC for brands: GeoComfort Residential Single Family, Owner Occupied YEAR STANDARD LIMITED WARRANTY STARTING January 01, 2017 LLC warrants all internal system components, including but not limited to the compressor, water to air heat exchanger, air coil, contactor, circuit boards, capacitor, wiring harnesses, blower assembly, expansion valve and reversing valve, to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of TEN (10) years. LLC warrants its geothermal unit against defects in materials and workmanship for TEN (10) years. Warranty coverage will begin on the warranty registration date or TWELVE (12) months after LLC s ship date, whichever comes first. LLC warrants selected accessories to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of TEN (10) years. Covered accessories purchased with a unit include: flow centers with fixed speed pumps, internal plenum and close coupled heaters (excludes AXH Series Duct Heaters ), EWC zone controls, & EWC dampers (excluding spring return models). EWC spring return dampers are warranted by the manufacturer s FIVE (5) year coverage. Flow centers with variable speed pumps and their associated controllers and sensors are warranted by the manufacturer s FIVE (5) year coverage. Labor allowances may not cover the full amount of labor charged, depending on the servicing contractor. Warranty registration by the installing contractor or user extends labor allowance coverage FIVE (5) years (years 6 through 10) at no additional charge. Warranty registration must occur within NINETY (90) days of installation or TWELVE (12) months from LLC s ship date, whichever is earlier. 12 Section 3: Standard Commercial Warranty, LLC., for brands: GeoComfort, Hydron Module, and TETCO Commercial or Non-Single Family installations 1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY, LLC. warrants all internal system components, including but not limited to the compressor, water to air heat exchanger, air coil, contactor, circuit boards, capacitor, wiring harnesses, blower assembly, expansion valve and reversing valve, to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year., LLC. warrants its geothermal unit against defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year. Warranty coverage will begin 12 months after, LLC s ship date or the warranty registration date, whichever comes first. CONDITIONS AND EXCLUSIONS: The Limited Warranty only applies if the following conditions are met: A. This Limited Warranty will not apply and shall be null and void if the, LLC. serial number has been altered, defaced or removed. B. This Limited Warranty shall be null and void if the, LLC. unit has been disconnected or removed from the location of original installation, or if dealer-seller has not been paid in full for the unit.
