2 Plastic waste is a rapidly increasing problem in our modern world. Although many techniques exist to serve the re-use and re-cycling of plastic waste, still a large amount of plastics end up in incineration plants or in dump sites (or worse: at the side of the road). These streams of end-of-life plastic contain large amounts of plastics that can be converted into valuable oil. In order to convert these plastics safely and reliably into high quality oil, the BlueAlp Technology plastic-to-oil process is developed.

3 1997 Dr. Gerold Weser and RISI start developing a process for converting plastic waste into oil. First on lab scale, later in full production plant Plant named RVA (Reststoffverwertungs AG). In 2008 name changed to PlastOil AG European norms for diesel become more strict (chlorine requirements introduced and max. sulphur content decreased) and PlastOil plant not commercially viable anymore. Petrogas is approached by PlastOil AG and is contracted for optimising test plant, technology development and commercial plant construction. In January 2014, Petrogas buys PlastOil AG (incl. patent and pilot plant in Sihlbrugg). In H2 2014, new technology development and duration tests, incl. due diligence by independent Dutch authority. Roll-out of new technology under the name BlueAlp Start-up of first commercial plants.

5 1949 Petrogas founded s Slochteren gas field discovered in The Netherlands. Petrogas starts supplying gas treatment skids to the Dutch Gasunie. Focus shifts to gas treatment, oil & gas and (petro)chemical projects worldwide Own large workshop / construction facilities in Eindhoven (The Netherlands) Mourik starts participation in Petrogas Petrogas is approached by PlastOil AG and is contracted for optimising test plant, technology development and commercial plant construction. 12 The BlueAlp Technology comprises the following main steps: 1. Feedstock pre-treatment (shredding, analysis, sorting, drying); 2. Melting and cracking of the plastics; 3. Condensation of the gases from the cracking process; 4. Distillation of the condensed liquids; 5. Treatment, storage and unloading of the product oil. (See next page for schematic process overview.) Additionally, the system includes various auxiliary systems as well as a complete control system. No catalysts are used in our process. The BlueAlp Technology has been positively evaluated by a Dutch independent institute.

The process modules for the BlueAlp process are fabricated and assembled in Petrogas workshop in Eindhoven (The Netherlands).
