1 Emitec: a Brief Company Profile was founded in Today, the company is a world leader on the metal substrate market for exhaust gas catalysts and metallic diesel particulate filters for vehicles and mobile machinery. Complete SCR dosing systems round off this product range. Since its foundation Emitec has sold more than 160 million metal substrates of zero-defect quality. Emitec is also a long-standing development partner of engine and automobile manufacturers, from two-wheelers to cars and commercial vehicles, as well as of the agricultural and construction machinery industry. The company usually works together with its customers to develop products and systems at its research and test center. The company employs around 1,000 people at the plants in Lohmar and Eisenach/ Germany, in Faulquemont/France, in Fountain Inn/South Carolina/USA, in Pune/ India and in Shanghai, China. Development centres are based in Lohmar, Eisenach and Faulquemont. Emitec s most important markets are in Europe, North America and Asia. The company has subsidiaries in Japan and Korea. The company s customers include the major car, truck and motorcycle manufacturers from across the world as well as in the non-road sector producers of tractors, agricultural machinery, construction equipment, ship engines and diesel locomotives. Emitec owns over 2,500 patents worldwide, a fact that reflects the company s innovative strength. The UDA air-assisted urea dosing system is the result of a long and successful development and has become the first choice for premium manufacturers from all over the world. Customers include Cummins, MAN and several Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturers. The UDL airless dosing and injection system was developed for the commercial vehicle and off-highway sector and launched on the market in Emitec is presenting the UDA 2, the next-generation dosing system, for MAN EU VI-compliant trucks at the IAA As part of the next stage, Emitec is currently developing highly compact dosing systems for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. The systems are expected to go into production next year. This month marked the official opening of Emitec s new plant in Faulquemont/France, which becomes the company s centre of excellence and production site for dosing systems.
