4 Emission Compliance - MTU Philosophy IMO MARPOL, ANNEX VI, Reg. 13 MTU requirements MTU = system and emission responsible Prime Emission Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) no differantiation between new and old over lifetime Particulate matter (PM) not limited PM optimized combustion process Vanadium Slip not limited must be prevented under all conditions Secondary Emission Ammonia Slip (NH3) to be minimized Stationary: 10 ppm (new condition) 25 ppm (over lifetime) Transient: 50 ppm (average over 1 min.)
