3 Construction Units constructed in accordance with UNI-EN standards for autoatic fire-fighting systes (with sprinkler) and according to UNI for fire-fighting systes with fire hydrants. The units ay be coposed of 1 or 2 ain pups. Units are fitted with a jockey pup, with which the syste pressure level can be aintained without having to start the ain pups. Application For feeding water to autoatic fire-fighting systes and units with hydrants. Operation The pups start operating aer a fall in the pressure level in the fireextinguishing syste. The first pup to be triggered is the jockey pup. If this pup cannot restore the pressure level, the ain pup starts. When there is ore than one ain pup, the pups start in cascade sequence, with the starting pressure switches set at different pressure levels. The pressure switches of the ain pups are used only for starting, as the pups ust be stopped anually for UNI-EN units or autoatically with a tier for UNI sets. The recirculation diaphrag allows for operation of the ain pups also when the delivery port is closed (with no consuption of water in the syste), avoiding overheating of the water inside the pup body. Weekly test The prograable clock in the electric box controls the forced starting of the ain pup (electric driven pup only). The diaphrag avoids overheating of the water in the pup body. Pups Main pups The ain pups can be : N series: single stage horizontal centrifugal pups The N series centrifugal pups are coupled with the electric or diesel otor through a bearing coupling. This solution allows to operate on the hydraulic part without oving the otor. Jockey pup Jockey pup can be a self-priing jet pup, a centrifugal pup with two ipellers, a vertical ultistage pup or a subersible borehole pup. The axiu pressure developed by the jockey pup is always greater than the pressure of the ain pups. Motors Two-pole induction type, z, n = 2,0 rp Three-phase 2/V ± 10% up to kw /6V ± 10% 4 kw and higher. Insulation class F Protection IP 54 for close coupled pups, IP 55 for pups with coupling. Construction in accordance with: IEC 04 Other voltage and frequency ratings available on request Diesel otors (for standardised N-series pups) These are direct-injection pups fitted with electric control box, fuel tank, starter batteries and silencer. ydraulic coponents Each ain pup is fitted with: - Pressure and vacuu gauge in the suction section. - Butterfly valve in the suction section (on request only for installation with positive suction head). - Pressure gauge in the delivery section. - Adjusted diaphrag. - Pressure switch to indicate the pup is operating. - Non-return valve of the accessible swing-type. - Butterfly valve in the delivery section. - Manual test circuit with pressure switches, pressure gauge, nonreturn valve and ball valve and cylindrical -liter ( bar) tank (one for each pup). The jockey pup is fitted with: - Ball valve in the suction section (on request only if the pup has a positive suction head). - Non-return valve and ball valve in the delivery section. - Manual test circuit with pressure switch, pressure gauge, non-return valve and ball valve and cylindrical -liter ( bar) tank (one for each pup). Other coponents: - Delivery anifold. - Coupling for connection of a priing tank (only for the pups installed with positive suction head). - The suction anifold is never supplied as such execution is forbidden by the standards. On request: - Manifold for flow eter. - Adjusted-flange, diaphrag type, flow eter. Electric boxes Electric ain-pup box (electric otor) Each ain pup has its own electric control board housed in a etal cabinet with IP54 protection. The box contains the devices required for operation and control of the pup. Motor starting is direct for power ratings up to 7.5 kw. For otors with a rating equal to or higher than 11 kw pup starting is of the Y/Δ type with fuses, contactors and tier. - prograable clock for the weekly test. - Tier for pups stop aer inutes (UNI 10779) The following devices are located on the internal door panel: - Line-sectioning handle - Volteter and aeter with switch - Manual-0-Autoatic selector with extractible key only in autoatic position - Start/Stop pushbuttons - Pilot lights to indicate: no-volt, pup running, voltage on. Electric ain-pup box (diesel otor) This cabinet contains the electronic control devices for the control of the diesel otor and the battery chargers for feeding the starter accuulators. The following devices are located on the front of the box: - Line-sectioning handle. - Front panel of the electronic unit. - Manual-0-Autoatic selector with extractible key only an autoatic position. Electric jockey-pup box When installed, the jockey pup is fitted with its own electric panel, etal housing with IP 54 protection. Control box (on request). To be installed in a place to be looked aer, to signal any possible failure of the unit state. It ust be connected to V.2 and it gives an acoustic and visual signal for 24 hours.
