4 In General The vessel is designed as a single screw motor vessel. Intended to be used for worldwide services. Complying with all International and National / Flag state Rules & Regulations focused on todays and future European and National standards regarding environmental performances according Classification Society rules and regulations. The Vessel will compies with all further MARPOL 73/78, Annexes concerning ; The regulations for the prevention of Pollution by Sewage from ships. The regulations for the prevention of Air Pollution by from ships incl. MEPC 64 concerning EEDI & SEEMP Vessel will be built and classified under Germanischer Lloyd and sail under The Netherlands Flag. Character of Class; Hull : GL 100 A5 IW BWM(D1) SUCTION DREDGER H OPPER DREDGER Machinery : GL MC AUT While dredging operations (dredging draught must not exceed max. 7,15 m) the service area is limited 50 miles from shore (class notation equivalent 'RSA(50)') According to rules of DR 68 dealing with the assignment of reduced freeboards for dredgers. Signed a building contract for this vessel as in brief specified in this Brochure; The vessel will be equipped with an appropriate propulsion system existing one medium speed main engine driving one individual variable pitch propeller through a reduction gear (European and Norwegian makers). As emergency propulsion a powerful Steering Grid bow thruster foreseen for double acting as thruster to Starboard and Port side and if needed as a brake or emergency propulsion system. 9 This multi-functional hopper dredger is equipped with the latest technology and constructed to comply to future International national and European regulations. The main engine and generator set do comply with ECA requirements up to Vessel constructed with an energy saving American Bow, straight down from upper waterline. This bow ensures an constant speed under different weather circumstances. Vessels construction allows installation of Spud Poles * and installing of a dry sand discharge installation.** *Therefore Integrated in the aft- en fore ship construction a reinforced vertical pipe structure of approx. 1000mm Ǿ outer diameter and 15 mm wall thickness fitted at the ship s centreline. Pipe runs from the bottom to the superstructure deck. **Vessels Hopper Hatch coming is reinforced for allowing installation of a to shore dry sand discharge installation.
