1 Product Bulletin RCP Cooling System Treatment Product Description PrixMax RCP is a low toxic, environmentally friendly inhibitor concentrate for protection of engine cooling systems. Using proprietary silicate-free organic carboxylate technology the product provides longlife corrosion protection for aluminium, iron, copper and solder alloys. The inhibitors contained in PrixMax RCP have very low depletion rates unlike the traditional nitrite and silicate based technologies. PrixMax RCP contains no ethylene glycol but the product is compatible with most conventional inhibited glycol or water based engine coolants. Before mixing PrixMax RCP with other coolants contact the Coolcheck laboratories. PrixMax RCP can be used for top-up of most conventional coolants but the user must continue to add SCAs for heavy-duty service until the next coolant change-out. During extensive field testing the technology has proven superior protection for at least 32,000 hours in marine and stationary engine applications. Excellent high temperature corrosion protection is provided for aluminium heat transfer surfaces in modern automotive engines. The inhibitor package offers excellent cavitation protection without using nitrite or nitrite-based supplemental coolant additives (SCAs). Primary Application PrixMax RCP may be used with confidence in engines manufactured from cast iron, aluminium or combinations of these and in cooling systems made of aluminium or copper alloys. For frost protection against sub-zero temperatures use the ethylene glycol based concentrate PrixMax MEG95 antifreeze/coolant. For passenger car and light commercial vehicle applications at least 5% vol of the RCP concentrate should be diluted in good quality water. PrixMax RCP at 7.5% vol in good quality water provides protection up to 250,000 km for automobile engines or 5 years whichever comes first.

PrixMax RCP at 7.5% vol. in good quality water more than doubles the life of conventional coolants in heavy duty transport engines to 500,000 km or 6,000 hours at the same time providing excellent protection against cylinder liner cavitation corrosion-erosion. Provided a mix of PrixMax RCP at 7.5% vol. in good quality water is maintained, coolant service life for heavy duty engines (on-road and off-road) may be extended up to 1,000,000 km or 18,000 hours or 6 years (whichever comes first) after system evaluation using the Coolcheck scheduled laboratory coolant analysis service. PrixMax RCP at 7.5% vol. in water will provide outstanding corrosion protection in marine and stationary engines (machines or commercial engines) for at least 32,000 hours. If PrixMax RCP is replenished regularly to compensate for leakage, the cooling water can be considered as fill for life. These coolant change intervals are only possible after system evaluation using the Coolcheck scheduled laboratory coolant analysis service. The product is particularly recommended as an environmentally safe coolant for the cooling systems of diesel and gas powered engines. PrixMax RCP is compatible with hard water, however the use of soft or deionised water is preferable to minimise scale deposits. Laboratory testing has shown that acceptable corrosion results are still obtained with water of 20 dh, containing up to 500 ppm chlorides and 500 ppm sulphates. For long-life protection do not mix PrixMax RCP with other coolant products as the extended life benefits will be reduced if mixed. If mixed with more than 10% conventional coolant, treat the cooling system as if it contains conventional coolant or drain and flush the system and refill with PrixMax RCP. Always start off with a clean cooling system using PrixMax Radiator Flush or similar commercial cleaner at the change interval if previously using conventional coolants. After draining the cleaner flush thoroughly with clean water. Inspect the cooling system. Make necessary repairs and tighten all hose connections. PrixMax Coolcheck scheduled coolant analysis is available as an advanced level program which at least annually determines the overall condition of the coolant and cooling system. A basic coolant maintenance check every oil change or 250 service hours can be performed using PrixMax Coolant Test Strips or hand-held Brix Model N-10 refractometer to identify problems with maintenance procedures and operational practices.

3 RCP Page 3 of 5 Primary Application cont d.... The shelf life of the product is at least 2 years. The product should be protected from frost and direct sunlight during storage. The product should be stored at ambient temperatures and periods of exposure to temperatures above 35 C should be minimalised. The coolant should be changed out at overhaul or 6 years subject to testing. Always dispose of the used coolant in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines. Product Benefits RCP can be used in most OEM automotive and OEM diesel and natural gas engines allowing one coolant to be inventoried. The product lasts over twice as long as conventional coolants. Reduces engine coolant cost up to 60% over other water based conventional coolants. Protects up to 250,000 km for automobile and light commercial vehicle engines or 5 years whichever comes first. At least 500,000 km for truck engines and up to 6,000 hours for machines/commercial engines or 5 years whichever comes first. Service life may be extended with Coolcheck testing. Minimises aluminium crevice corrosion and cast iron cavitation damage, increasing engine component life. Long term corrosion protection for all cooling system metals through nondepleting organic technology. Easy maintenance with no pre-charging or recharging of inhibitors. Simple testing methods for inhibitor levels. Readily biodegradable and contains no environmentally harmful borates, molybdates, phosphates, amines, nitrates or nitrites. Low toxicity to marine life. Excellent heat transfer and superior protection in high operating temperatures. No adverse effects on rubber hoses and gasket materials. Improved water pump life and seal life resulting from fewer dissolved solids.

Phosphate-free and silicate-free technology reduces hard water scale and no silicate dropout or gel formation during use or storage. PrixMax RCP is recommended for all heavy duty diesel and natural gas engines including Caterpillar, Navistar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Mack-RVI, International, MAN, MTU, Komatsu, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). PrixMax RCP meets the cooling water performance requirements of large marine diesel and stationary engine manufacturers including GEC Alsthom Ruston Diesel, MAN B & W and Wärtsilä. The product is recommended for high temperature protection of aluminium and light alloy modern car and light duty vehicle engines. The product also meets Ford Australia 6 cylinder Falcon corrosion inhibitor specification ESD-M99B166-C, Australian Standard AS Engine Coolant Type B, and the USA based TMC RP338 for Extended Service Interval Coolants. ASTM D1122 Toxicity and Environmental Assessment The organic carboxylate technology has undergone extensive independent toxicological and biodegradability testing. PrixMax RCP has very low toxicity to aquatic fauna and mammals and is classified Readily Biodegradable (i.e. attained in excess of 70% degradation after 7 days) Biodegradability: 84% (7 days) (AS4351 Part 2 or OECD guideline Nr. 301E) LD 50 > 2000 mg/kg (OECD guideline Nr. 401: toxicity to mammals) LC 50 > 1000 mg/l (OECD guideline Nr. 203: toxicity to fish)
