2 MOZAMBIQUE IN ÁFRICA The geographical position of Mozambique and particularly of its ports, rail and roads infrastructure has made it a main logistic hub for a number of hinterland countries Swaziland South Africa (North) Botswana Zimbabwe Zambia Malawi DRC (South) The three main Ports of Maputo, Beira and Nacala have rail and road infrastructure to supply these countries, with Rail accounting for 50 to 70% of the imports and exports to the hinterland countries; A number of old rail lines are being revamped (Sena, Limpopo), and new ones planned (Nacala, Chinde), connecting to each port. The Government of Mozambique has announced a new Port in Techobanine and a new long term plan to increase port, rail and roads infrastructure in the country

13 COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS (CNG) Petromoc owns 40% of AUTOGAS shares, the exclusive distributor of CNG; Building the first 3 CNG stations (expected commissioning December 2012); Plan is for 1 per year in the next 5 years, as CNG pipelines are expanded AutoGas is in the process of converting vehicles, especially public transport, from the conventional fuel to CNG (150 buses already operating);

15 BIOFUELS Petromoc is the de facto Government operational arm for the promotion and development of biofuels. Government has enacted legislation for compulsory blending of 3% biodiesel and 10% bioethanol. Petromocs objective is to maximize its core logistics competencies and infrastructure, and lead the production and supply of biofuels in the country and the region Biodiesel (subsidiary ECOMOZ) Biodiesel production facility in Matola with 80,000 ltrs / day ability Main constraint: raw material. Strategy to solve this: Bioethanol MOÇAMGALP Project (Petromoc and Galp) Production of vegetable oils from Jatropha Curcas (Manica and Zambezia provinces) 19 million USD investment ha in phase I, up until reaching a total of 50,000 ha Purchased own oil unit in Inhambane to supply feedstock to Matola In talks with international player for a ethanol refining plant in Mozambique

16 Pipelines The PETROLINE pproject in an example of regional integration The benefits for Mozambique and the company are: Increase of Maputo Port handling volumes and revenues Increase of Petromoc s revenues the use of reception and storage tanks Transit of more than m3 per annum of petroleum products Maximum rentability of Petromoc s facilities otherwise dormant storage tanks Status of the project The construction and operation license has been granted The feasibility study is being prepared in its various components Negotiations for the sale of pipeline capacity are under way with the South African oil majors Negotiations with a number of prospective financiers are going on Potential for equity participation However, issues with subsidies from SA Government to competing pipeline is a major stumbling block

17 Relationship PETROMOC/ENH Partnership that allows the identification and implementation of joint projects, in research, production, transportation and marketing of liquid and gaseous fuels. PETROMOC- Government vehicle for implementing the country's energy policy for liquid fuels and has the largest network infrastructures for storage, distribution and marketing of fuels in Mozambique. ENH-Government vehicle for participation in projects and business ventures in the area of hydrocarbons. Activities: prospecting, exploration, development, production, transportation, transmission and sale of hydrocarbons and their derivatives.

18 Potential joint-projects with ENH Plant to convert natural gas into liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to produce between 20,000 and 50,000 tonnes of LPG per year. Plant to convert natural gas into methanol. Plant to convert natural Gas into Liquids GTL Gas pipeline from Palma to Nacala. All these opportunities to be developed with third parties (equity partners and debt). We welcome all to help develop Mozambique s oil & gas infrastructure to enriche the lives of Mozambicans and the people in the SADC region.
