8 BLUETOOTH 1 AND USB connectivity acadia s technology allows you to integrate your own Bluetooth phone for in-vehicle hands-free operation. Standard on SLE and SLT models, steering-wheel-mounted controls let you start a call and control volume, then dial by voice and listen to your call through Acadia s audio system. After a quick setup, connection and disconnection occur automatically each time you enter or exit the vehicle. Available on SLE and standard on SLT models are sound systems featuring an integrated USB port. The port recharges your ipod /MP3 player while it plays audio from the device through the sound system. Your play lists and folders show up on the sound system display, and you can operate the device with the sound system controls, including those on the steering wheel. Activation is by the key fob that also controls the remote keyless entry function and available power liftgate. XM Radio 3 is standard with 3 trial months of service. 21 SIX AIR BAGS 3 and PASSENGER SENSING SYSTEM ONSTAR 2 AUTOMATIC CRASH RESpONSE Acadia comes with six air bags, 3 two front dual-stage air bags and two side-impact air bags for the driver and front-seat passenger, and head curtain side air bags with rollover protection that function like a protective curtain, unfolding from the roof rail on each side. Activated by sideimpact and rollover sensors, each curtain includes air bag sections for outboard front, second-row and third-row passengers. The front passenger air bag features a Passenger Sensing System. It uses a sensor within the front passenger seat to detect the weight of the occupant. Under a certain weight, the system automatically turns off the air bag. In a crash, built-in sensors around your vehicle can automatically send an alert to OnStar. 2 An OnStar Advisor is immediately connected to your vehicle to see if you need help. Even if you re unable to respond, the Advisor will use advanced GPS technology to pinpoint your exact location to direct emergency help even in areas of limited cellular reception. The Advisor can also relay critical crash information to emergency responders, such as severity and type of crash, so responders are better equipped to treat you at the scene.
