12 Relax. We re on your side. TOYOTA SAFETY SENSE* Toyota Safety Sense* adds advanced active safety systems for an even safer and more relaxed drive. Three active technologies Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert and Automatic High Beam are at the heart of Toyota Safety Sense. In addition, Yaris features a broad range of integrated safety features, from multiple airbags to Tyre Pressure Warning System (TPWS) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC). With Toyota Safety Sense you may also benefit through reduced insurance premiums. Automatic High Beam Toyota Safety Sense s Automatic High Beam is designed to optimise visibility during night driving for all road users. A camera detects the lights of oncoming vehicles and leading traffic whilst also monitoring the brightness of streetlights. It switches automatically between high and low beam for safer night-time driving. Pre-Collision System Toyota Safety Sense s Pre- Collision System uses a camera and laser to detect other vehicles in the road ahead. When the possibility of a collision is detected the driver is alerted with audio and visual warnings and brake assistance is activated. If the driver fails to brake in time the brakes automatically engage to prevent or mitigate a collision. * Toyota Safety Sense on 2016 Yaris includes rain-sensing wipers, unless already standard. Reduced insurance premiums are offered at the sole discretion of your insurance provider and are dependent on driving and claims history. Please check with your insurance provider if applicable. 12 Lane Departure Alert Using a camera to detect the lane markings in the road ahead, Toyota Safety Sense s Lane Departure Alert will alert the driver with audio and visual warnings if the vehicle starts to deviate from its lane without the turn indicator being applied the driver can then take corrective action. All active safety technologies are intended to be back-up systems only and are not a substitute for safe and attentive driving.
