KEY POINTS Combines advanced technology and innovation that empowers, rather than overpowers, the driver. The new XE has a traditional Jaguar soul under the hood. A Jaguar engine is the heart and soul of the car. The XE offers a range of gas and diesel engines to suit every driving style. There is the turbocharged diesel engine, the dynamically proven 2.0 liter 4-cylinder gas engine and the same spine-tingling supercharged V6 powerhouse, also featured in the F-TYPE. Engine output is 180 horsepower / 318 lb-ft of torque, 240 horsepower / 251 lb-ft of torque, and 340 horsepower / 332 lb-ft of torque respectively. Jaguar's new generation Ingenium diesel engine is built inhouse and delivers impressive fuel consumption over a wide range of engine speeds. Ingenium is as intelligent as it is innovative. Computer-controlled, adaptive engine cooling only engages as required. The latest generation variable geometry turbocharger maximizes peak power for low speed torque and responsiveness. 0-60mph is as fast as 5.1 seconds (0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds) when equipped with the supercharged 3.0 V6. The 2.0L Diesel and the 3.0L V6 S/C Gas engines are available in either rear or all-wheel drive configuration. The 2.0L GTDI gas engine is only available in RWD configuration. All XE variants are equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission offering quick and smooth gearshifts while automatically adapting to suit your driving style relaxed or sporting. 4 POSITION 3 AT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE STEP BACK FOR AN OVERALL VIEW MESSAGE: The design of the all-new XE is distinctly Jaguar both inside and out KEY POINTS Simple form, sharp lines, pure silhouette, sporty silhouette; this is what Jaguar is about. ~ Ian Callum, Jaguar Design Director Jaguar cars are about great proportions, fantastic silhouettes the optimum expression of metal I ve always believed any good design can be drawn in two or three lines. ~ Ian Callum When looking at the XE head on, the Jaguar vehicles family resemblance is instantly recognizable. An upright front grille, distinct hood bulge, headlights that come off the grille to create an eyebrow effect. The sporty profile of the XE is accentuated by its coupe-like silhouette. A long hood and short rear overhang emphasize the cab-rearward proportions, while the strong rising waistline adds a sense of drama and movement even when standing still. In the rear, the XE has taillights derived from the E-Type and most recently followed through to the F-TYPE and XF. Diesel derivatives are fitted with a single side twin tailpipe while the gas engines receive a dual tailpipe. The XE is based on our Lightweight Aluminum Architecture, which uses expertise derived from the aerospace industry to deliver premium vehicle characteristics in performance and refinement. Saving weight without compromising durability, it provides very high torsional stiffness, supporting precise handling. It helps achieve optimum weight distribution approaching 50:50. The lightweight structure not only reduces fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions, it means that the XE range is able to achieve a maximum speed of up to 120mph. Torque Vectoring by Braking provides additional control and cornering precision via targeted rear wheel braking. Electrically Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS) allows steering assist to be provided as needed, with more assistance when maneuvering at low speed and more feel at high speed. Available Jaguar Instinctive All-Wheel Drive is enhanced with a new Intelligent Driveline Dynamics control This enhancement ensures that optimal torque is delivered for maximum traction, performance, stability, and yaw control. Split/fold rear seats (standard on XE Premium, Prestige, and R-Sport) fold fully or can be divided 40:20:40. A 38.4 ft. turning radius underscores the agile nature of XE and the convenience of being able to maneuver in tight spaces. A full complement of airbag supplemental restraint systems is designed to provide protection in certain collision scenarios. Advanced seatbelt pretensioners automatically tighten the seatbelts when they sense rapid deceleration. Aluminum architecture enhances safety during collision by absorbing more energy than steel. KEY POINTS When you combine over 60 years of sports car design experience with luxury materials and a host of interior options, you create a connection that s uniquely personal. A unique stepped dashboard sweeps gracefully away from driver and passenger, giving XE a sense of elegance and space. Twin-stitched, glove-soft leather can be complemented by sleek veneers and quality trims in your choice of color. Family details are recognizable on the inside with features such as the signature Riva Hoop introduced on XJ, and now Jaguar design cue for the sedan models. Drivers will notice that the center console sits a little higher than the norm to create a sit-in rather than sit-on feel, similar to a sports car. The XE gets the same instrument cluster graphics as the F-TYPE with two large analog dials and a message center between them. There are 4 driving modes available on the XE Normal, Dynamic, Rain/Ice/Snow (previously referenced as Winter ) and ECO modes. Choose from two InControl infotainment systems: InControl Touch, available as standard, or upgrade to InControl Touch Pro. XE offers three sound systems designed to please the most demanding audiophiles: a Jaguar system, powered by an 80W amplifier, and two others that have been created by British audio experts Meridian. The first has a stunning 380W amplifier, the second offers an impressive 825 watt surround sound System. The XE offers an optional laser Head-Up Display (HUD) projecting essential information and navigation directions directly into your line-of-sight on the windshield. Just another way we help keep your senses connected to the road. Optional Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) technology uses a forward-facing camera to detect speed limit and no passing signs, and then displays them to the driver on the instrument panel.
