Charger offers available class-exclusive 1 all-wheel drive (AWD) with automatic front-axle disconnect on Charger SXT, SXT Plus and R/T. The system seamlessly transitions between rear-wheel drive and AWD with no driver intervention. It provides power on demand between the front and rear differentials as needed. When AWD is not required, the front axle automatically disconnects and opens the transfer case from the drivetrain to reduce friction and rotational mass and maximize fuel efficiency.
