4 ASX ENGINE & Smart petrol on 2WD. All 2WD ASX models feature the smooth power and welcome economy of the 2.0L MIVEC petrol engine. It ll drink just 7.4L/100km and produce only 170g/km of emissions. It ll also whisk a full load up a hill or make short work of a long drive. Powerful diesel on 4WD. If 4WD is more your style, the 2.2L Intercooled Turbo Diesel is the engine you need. 5 TRANSMISSION Transmissions made for driving. The key to smooth, economical driving is choosing the perfect gear. On 2WD models, the 6-speed INVECS III transmission with Sport-Mode does all that for you. It uses a clever CVT mechanism to keep the engine in the optimal balance between performance and efficiency. In Sport Mode setting, you can change gears manually with the gear stick, or the paddle shift on ASX VRX models for truly dynamic driving. 6 SAFETY & ASX Peace of mind every time you sit behind the wheel. The ASX features several important safety innovations to protect you and your passengers. MULTI-MODE ANTI LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) AND MECHANICAL BRAKE ASSIST S AFETY R ATING 5 STAR ANCAP SAFETY RATING ACTIVE STABILITY CONTROL (ASC) Maintains stabilit y and control when cornering, by automatically recognising under-steer and over-steer. It applies brakes to the appropriate wheels to keep you online through corners. This allows you to manoeuvre around objects under heavy braking conditions. ASX s intelligent 4-channel, 4-sensor braking system works in conjunction with the drive mode to monitor different wheel speeds and activate brakes to individual wheels when required to deliver superior control. HILL START ASSIST (HSA) Mechanical Brake Assist increases the brake force during emergency braking situations to reduce the stopping distance. This technology makes it easier to start off a steep uphill slope by preventing the vehicle from rolling backwards. It maintains the braking force for two seconds while you move your foot from the brake to the accelerator. SMARTBRAKE Here s another innovative feature that s there just in case. If you unintentionally hit your accelerator pedal as well as your brake in an emergency situation, the new SmartBrake system spots the error, cancels out the message from the gas pedal and puts full concentration on your braking. ELECTRONIC BRAKEFORCE DISTRIBUTION (EBD) This technology reduces stopping distances by detecting passengers or heavier loads and automatically increases rear-braking force. ACTIVE TRACTION CONTROL - ATC STOPPING DISTANCE WITH EBD Helps you maintain traction on the most slippery or rugged of surfaces. This intelligent system automatically controls the engine output, so driving wheels are prevented from spinning. Sensing loss of traction in an independent wheel, it applies braking force to that wheel and sends extra power and torque to other wheels with traction to keep you moving. STOPPING DISTANCE WITHOUT EBD HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE HEADLAMPS (HID) WITH ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFS) Clever self levelling HID headlamps offer brighter illumination for night time driving and AFS provides increased illumination of corners when the car is turning. 7 TECHNOLOGY 40mm ONE TOUCH START Combined with Mitsubishi s keyless operation system, the one touch start system allows you to start driving without ever taking your key from your pocket. VRX models only. BLUETOOTH HANDS FREE KIT Allows you to link your Bluetooth compatible mobile phone, and the voice-activated dialler while holding the wheel. Bluetooth is standard across the range. TILT AND TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN & ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING The tilt and telescopic steering column offers the driver the flexibility of adjusting the steering column to suit their favoured driving position. Electronic Power Steering takes the effort out of driving by providing steering assistance. At low speeds the EPS is light and easy, as speed increases steering becomes solid, delivering a more controlled driving experience. CARGO ROOM With up to 416 litres of available cargo capacity inside ASX 2WD models (384 litres in 4WD models due to the raised cargo room floor to accommodate a full sized spare), ASX lets you carry whatever you need. The easy-opening tailgate is wide enough to provide ample space for even the bulkiest items, and the low floor height makes it convenient to move heavy cargo in and out. SUPER WIDE HIP LAMPS & LED DRLS (DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS) When activated, the headlamp cluster sends out a broader beam of light, illuminating a much wider section of the road ahead combined with the new safety feature of DRLS for increased visibility of your vehicle. VRX models only. REAR COMBINATION LAMPS These combine a sense of width while giving the rear a sporty appearance. HIGH RIDE HEIGHT With SUV like ride height, the ASX allows its driver superior visibility and ease of access in and out of the vehicle without the bulk of a traditional SUV. LIGHTWEIGHT IMPACT-RESISTANT FRONT GUARD The new impact resistant outer panel reduces the overall vehicle weight and is specially designed to crumple on impact, reducing vehicle damage during a collision. Choose from the super smooth 2.0L MIVEC petrol engine, or the 2.2L intercooled turbo diesel, which accompanies a powerful 4WD system. Both offer genuine economy and the power to please.
