In fact, coupled with lightweight all-aluminium technology, the six-speed manual transmission (standard with ed4 and sd4) and the nine-speed automatic transmission (standard with the si4 and optional for sd4), delivering greatly improved fuel efficiency and lower CO ² emissions. If a vehicle approaches at speed from behind when changing lanes, the Closing Vehicle sensing function will alert you to the potential dangers by flashing the icon in the door mirror. Reverse Traffic Detection Activated whilst reversing, this system works by informing the driver in the event of a vehicle approaching from either side which may present a hazard, with both audible and visual warnings. Active Driveline The all-new Active Driveline delivers benefits in both on and off-road situations, for petrol drivetrains. In many on-road driving conditions, the system is able to disconnect drive to the rear of the vehicle, providing maximum two-wheel drive fuel economy. A sophisticated control strategy continuously monitors key vehicle and environmental parameters. If the requirements for four-wheel drive are met, the system seamlessly and imperceptibly reconnects the four-wheel drive system within 300 milliseconds. standard feature for si4 versions only. Parallel, Parking and Perpendicular Parking Parallel Park identifies suitable parking spaces and automatically steers into the space whilst you operate the pedals. Parking exit provides the same assistance to manoeuvre out of the space. A new feature for this year, Perpendicular Park is an optional addition to the system. Truly useful in car parks and tight spaces, it automatically assesses whether the chosen space is wide enough before steering the vehicle centrally into place as the driver operates the pedals. Nine-speed Automatic Transmission Range Rover Evoque now features a class-leading nine-speed automatic transmission, 7.5kg lighter than the previous six-speed model. You will benefit from notable improvements in both fuel economy and CO 2 emissions as well as greater control in low-grip conditions or when towing through the speciallydesigned, ultra-low first gear. Surround Camera System Using five digital cameras mounted around the vehicle, this system provides an all-round view of your surroundings on the full-colour Touch-screen, assisting in tight manoeuvring. 62 KEY FEATURES Lane Departure Warning A forward-looking camera mounted ahead of the rear view mirror monitors the lane markings on both sides of the vehicle and gives the driver a warning when the vehicle drifts out of its lane without the indicators being triggered. The alert comes in the form of a discrete vibration through the steering wheel, allowing the driver to take the appropriate action. Traffic Sign Recognition This system scans the road ahead for certain traffic signals and displays them in the Message Centre in the instrument pack. The following signs are detected: speed limit signs, no-overtaking signs, variable overhead speed signs and traffic signs with extra information such as reduced speeds for wet roads. The system can be configured to provide speed alert warnings when the vehicle is travelling at or above the current speed limit, as well as warning of no-overtaking zones.
