1 The UK Target Archery Ranking List Introduction The UK Target Archery rankings are given below, comprising all those archers who are eligible for inclusion. The rules for evolving the Rankings were on the Web and in Archery UK in the Spring 2001 and are repeated after the lists. Archers whose best head-to-head performances were for 12-arrow passes had that score multiplied by 1.5. Thus some archers' total scores include that extra half point. Also, archers who represented their Country at the World Championships in Bejing were credited with a FITA 70m round equivalent score. 5 Although they are unable to be included in the UK Ranking Lists because of their nationality a further two Lady Recurve archers competed in the Premier events and who satisfied the criteria set down. They were Kirstin Lewis of Holdens A & South Africa who gained 5336 points and Christine Kirchhof of Southampton University AC and Germany who gained 4557 points. Rules for Evolving the Rankings To be considered for the rankings, an archer must complete the following three elements: Three FITA Star rounds. If more are completed, then the best 3 scores will count. Two FITA 70m rounds. If more are completed, then the best 2 scores will count. A head-to-head match at two Olympic Rounds. 18-arrow match scores will be taken at face value; 12-arrow match scores will be multiplied by a factor of 1½ to give an equivalent score. At each event, the best score will count. If head-to-head rounds are shot at more than two Olympic Rounds, then the best two events scores will count. The ranking will be based on the total of the scores (i.e. 3 * FITA's, 2 * 70m's and 2 * 18 arrow passes) from these 7 shoots. The archer with the highest scores total in their bowstyle/gender class will be ranked first. Archers Competing Overseas. Archers who attend tournaments overseas and who wish the results to be considered for the Rankings are to arrange for copies of overseas tournaments to be forwarded to Target Committee via the GNAS office. International Matches During UK Premier Events. It would not be right that archers who are representing their country during a Premier Event, and thus unable to attend, should lose their chance to obtain qualifying scores. Therefore, the scores from the International event will be used. However, if the international shoot is not compatible with the Premier Event rounds, equivalent scores will be derived using the handicap tables.
