4 Description: Nothing inspires hot rod nostalgia more than a beautiful 1932 Ford Coupe. The Beach Boys gloriously sang about the Little Deuce Coupe that was the fastest set of wheels in town. And movie goers will always remember the character of John Milner in American Graffiti, who was the craziest racer in the valley, taking on all-comers in his bright yellow window Ford coupe. And today, fellow hot rodders will flock from far and wide when they see you drive up to your local car cruise in this breathtaking example of hot rod Americana - a meticulously restored 1932 Ford Model B Deuce Coupe. History This rare, window Deuce has been owned by the same classic carcrazed family for over 50 years! The car was purchased by David Schneider in Norton, OH in 1960, pulled out of the previous owner s garage, and gingerly transported home by him and his brother, Bernie. Over the years, David and Bernie accumulated the rarest parts for this piece of classic iron from swap meets, drag races, and car shows, and it remained in covered storage until a fully, documented, body-off, nut and bolt restoration was started in The restoration was completely performed by the owner in his own two-bay garage at a cost close to $100,000, and was finished in Currently, this sweet ride has only 2500 miles on it! Body/Frame The body of this elegant street machine is original and all metal, including the running boards and front and rear fenders. During the restoration, the body was completely removed from the frame, stripped to bare metal, and painstakingly hand-sanded to its current sleek state before being shot in primer. The owner then carefully sprayed the car in the beautifully bold, single-stage PPG Roadhouse Blue that you see today, also carrying that silky smooth hue through to the frame and interior. Recently, the sexy body lines have been accented with

5 a hand-painted beige pinstripe with the word Deuce scripted beneath the cowl light. The original, non-chopped, non-channeled body now sits on a Total Cost Involved (TCI) Engineering dropped axle chassis with stamped and boxed sides for added strength/rigidity and a revised cross member that allows the 2.5-inch dual exhaust to be routed directly through the frame. In the rear, there is a coilover 4-link suspension, rear sway bar, and a 9-inch Ford rear end with a 3.25 gear ratio. In the front, there is a drop axle with transverse mounted spring. To ensure that you can stop this classy cruiser, there are 11-inch power disk brakes in the front and drum brakes in the rear. Unique to this car and year, the working front tilt window is highlighted by a polished chrome windshield frame, helping to distinguish this car from the other early Fords out there. Another unique feature is the original, early-production 20- louver Butterfly hood that is fully functional and rests on a custom hood support when displaying the sparkling chrome engine at the local car shows. Other original items include the headlight buckets, rings, and lenses with new halogen bulbs; these have been slightly altered so that the turn signals are built into the cowl and head lamps, providing for a clean, custom look. Interior Opening the rare, front-opening suicide doors, you are immediately enveloped by the hand-crafted, beige tweed interior which perfectly accents the dramatic PPG Roadhouse Blue exterior. Recently re-done by Portage Trim in Ravenna, Ohio nationally renowned for excellent craftsmanship and winners of many interior best of show awards the inside features Glide Engineering tilt seats with swivel option, V8 embossed stamps in each of the doors, deep blue carpet over a BQuiet sound deadener, and custom arm rests so you can relax your limbs during those long, lazy summer-time rides. And to keep you and your favorite lady comfortable on your treks to the soda stand, creature comforts include a Vintage Air setup, Ididit tilt steering column with a mahogany Grant steering wheel, a Mighty Wiper system, and GlobalCruise electronic cruise control. The electrical system has been replaced with Haywire Streetrod Electrical components throughout, and a VDO gauge package (including speedometer, tachometer with clock, oil pressure, temperature, and voltmeter) sitting in a Lokar dash insert helps keep you informed about what s going on under the hood. Out back in the trunk is just a nice, customized with equally bold blue carpet and beautiful beige tweed Velcro panels that provide hidden storage areas and a compartment for the trunk-mounted OPTIMA battery. Engine/Transmission Powering this beauty is a 350 Chevy crate motor from GM Performance Parts, running at a 9:1:1 compression ratio and pushing out 330 horsepower at 5000 RPM with 380 ft/lbs of torque at 3800 RPM. This dependable engine includes cast iron 64cc Vortec heads (similar to those used in the Corvette 350 LT1

6 engines), cast aluminum pistons, a GM Performance parts dual plane intake manifold, a GM HEI distributor, and a long style cast iron water pump. Dual headers maximize air flow and performance, exiting out to a 2.5 inch dualexhaust with Dynaflow mufflers, letting everyone know you re coming down the street. Topping off the engine, you have a Holley 600 Street Avenger carburetor and chrome rocker covers with the Chevy Bow Tie proudly emblazoned on the side. To keep everything at the right temperature up front, a Walker radiator and electronic fan have been installed, ensuring that you won t be overheating any time soon. Backing up this power plant is a four-speed Turbo Hydramatic 200-4R automatic transmission full of TPI performance parts, mated to a Lokar 700-R4 shifter that effortlessly puts all these ponies to the pavement. Wheels/Tires To add just the right amount of bling on all four corners, this classy Deuce rides smoothly on 15-inch American Racing wheels wrapped in P225 60R15 Goodyear Eagle HP radials. And if you ever get into trouble on the road, the back end showcases an original spare tire mount with a full-size Goodyear Eagle HP spare tire on a matching American Racing rim.
