3 S-VENT PRODUCTS OVERVIEW Two Greek words, Anemos Statikos, were selected and combined to form the word Anemostat, which literally means to control wind. Since 1934, our products and components have reflected this name, and have stood for quality, durability, and reliability. Over seventy years ago, our founder F.J. Kurth, developed a design for diffusing air in ventilating and air conditioning systems from the scientific principle of aspiration. Since then, he and several gifted engineers have researched and developed a wide range of air distribution products that have been installed worldwide. Anemostat has long been a recognized leader in the air distribution industry with our complete line of air products and HVAC control systems. Anemostat has acquired the rights to further develop and distribute the S-Vent product line for security applications. This proprietary and highly unique product line was developed to combat physical and performance problems associated with HVAC grilles in areas where confined living quarters exist. Stainless Steel S-Vent Some of these common problems include suicide, contraband storage, weapons sources, obstructed ventilation and excessive corrosion. Fortunately what has become a burdensome and expensive maintenance item can be virtually eliminated with the use of the S-Vent Stainless Steel line of products. The unique S channel design with vertical mullions provides the throat of these grilles a rigid depth, which extends from 1-7/16" to 3-1/4" behind the face. This provides a level of security unsurpassed in the industry. SSV22 - Stainless Steel Extra Heavy Duty Grille with 3/16"x3/16" Openings In addition, the grille line is augmented with the only security diffuser that does not require a faceplate. Directional airflow in 1,2,3,4 way throw patterns without faceplate deflection and dumping that traditional security diffusers provide, is what you ll receive with this offering. Put threaded rods into coupling nuts at rear of grille face. 2. Set grille into opening, ensuring that it is centered in position. 3. Position duct collar over the threaded rod and secure the washers and nuts. 4. As necessary, seal any gaps around the faceplate using an approved security sealant. S-VENT MODELS SSV22, SSV23, SSV26 and SSV42 1. Insert Z-bracket into opening, ensuring it is properly oriented. 2. Position duct collar and then securely connect the Z-bracket and duct collar using the threaded rod with the coupling nuts. 3. After all interior finishing is complete, install the grilles using approved security screws (by others). 4. As necessary, seal any gaps around the faceplate using an approved security sealant. CEILING DIFFUSER - FACE MOUNTED with INSTALLATION PLATE CEILING DIFFUSER DUCT MOUNTED S-VENT DIFFUSER MODEL SSV Drill all holes necessary for proper positioning of the installation plate. 2. 19 TYPICAL SPECIFICATION RETROFIT INTEGRATED PLENUM WITH RAPITACH MOUNTING PLATE MAXIMUM SECURITY GRILLE AFFIXED TO THE SLEEVE OF AN EXISTING SECURITY GRILLE Contractor shall install a one-piece grille/plenum assembly consisting of an SSV22, SSV23, SSV26 or SSV42, which will fit flush over the existing grille without removal. The existing opening shall include the face flange and sleeve of the existing grille and must have the existing grille face cut out. The Rapitach mounting plate is secured to the inside of the existing sleeve with cone pointed setscrews, which are supplied. The Rapitach plate is fabricated with an offset mounting lip which the S-Vent aligns with to provide easy attachment. The plenum will have an extended profile of at least 1-3/4" from the wall to accommodate the throat of the grille. The contractor will use a lock-tight threading compound to insure integrity of the face attachment of the grille. Finish will have a mill (2B) stainless steel appearance.
