18 Before arrival of the Truck to Customs: data registration IRU Customs of Entry Country A Customs System Customs of Destination Holder fills in Electronic Advanced Cargo information and provides it to Customs (EPD015) Customs confirm the receipt of the electronic data (EPD928) Customs allocate the Transportation Reference Number (EPD028) Holder Risk assessment and decision is made! 18

19 At Customs of departure / entry: Release for transit IRU Customs of Entry Country A Customs System Customs of Destination Holder presents documents and preinformation reference number to Customs Officer Automatically Customs system checks the status of the TIR Carnet (RTS TCHQ) Customs validates electronic data against paper based documents Goods are released for transit (EPD029) 19
