1 The Circuit Sep/Oct 2017 Page 21 M a i l b i d s a l e #78 - Sale #78 features a lot of classic material. Check out the Victoria, Canada provinces and Malay states. There are also a number of German states and one lot of very old Reunion, including some BOB. Canada lots include some Jubilees, and there are quite a few Great Britain Victoria issues. There is also a moderate amount of British Caribbean scattered throughout. As always, check out the larger lots, where the percentage of catalog value asked is lower. Total 2014 CV = $ $5.00 Swap program changes announced by Bob Armstrong Swap Circuit Program Coordinator A t the beginning of 2015 we embarked on a new swap circuit program that was to run for two years and then be evaluated. During that time we added three swap circuit managers. At the end of 2016 it was felt that the program was running fairly well. Participants were replacing stamps taken with more than the required number and many participants were upgrading their requests for circuits. We decided to continue the program through 2017, with no additional stamp or monetary requirements from the participants. As we approach 2018, the 10 swap circuit managers foresee some subtle changes. We would like to charge $4 for the regular large size (100 foreign stamps), small size (100 foreign stamps), U.S. (100 U.S. stamps), first day covers (20 FDCs) and postcard (15 postcards). We would like to charge $9 for the extra large size (200 foreign stamps), small size (200 foreign stamps) and canceled to order (200 CTO stamps). The super circuits are a little different: $9 for 200 large size foreign stamps and $18 for 400 large size foreign stamps. This may sound a little confusing now, but when you see the revised application, which will posted on our website as well as published in the Nov/Dec 2017 issue, it should become clear. The income received will be used by the swap circuit managers. to buy quality stamp inventory. We are envisioning another twoyear program cycle from the beginning of 2018 through the end of We would like to hear from current swap circuit participants about what can be improved, and we would like to hear from non-participating ISWSC members what we can do to gain their participation. We have time until the new year begins. As the applications come in, we would like to try and group similar collecting interests in a mailing. For example, those wanting pre stamps would be grouped with others wanting pre-1940 stamps. If you would like to help or manage a particular circuit, this is an excellent time to express your interest. Lastly, our swap circuit is one of our society s most popular programs. You will be surprised and pleased by the stamps you receive in the circuits. Won t you participate? I welcome the opportunity to answer any and all questions.
