3 R O L L E R S H A D E S Headrail systems: Roller Shades are fabricated with the Rollease Skyline clutch system which is included in the chart pricing Shades can be set at any position and easily controlled manually Roller shades are fabricated with a silver #10 metal bead chain loop Other colors and plastic chains are available but must be requested Headrail Options include: (surcharges apply) Rollease Spring-Assist system, Galaxy clutch systems and Pin-end assist system reduce the pull force needed to raise heavy manual shades In most cases these clutch systems are a cost effective alternative to motorization and recommended for shades up to 144 wide shades or shades that exceed 24 pounds Lite Touch clutch-free cordless lift system eliminates lifting cords using a spring mechanism The Outdoor-use clutch system and cable-guided outdoor system are designed and warranted for exterior shade applications Fabric: Pay close attention to the maximum width of the fabric when dealing with wide windows Many of the fabrics are available in wide width fabrics Please refer to the fabric section of this guide for the maximum width of the fabrics Railroading: Depending on the weave/mesh and fabric content, many of the fabrics can be railroaded (turned width for length) but may have a visible seam (placed at the top of the shade) when the shade is fully extended If the width of the window exceeds the width of the fabric you must consider that the shade may have a visible seam Fabrics that are railroaded may curl along the edge This is not a defect in the product NOTE: If railroading shades, we recommend that you specify when placing your purchase order that all shades located in the same area be railroaded and cut from the same roll of fabric for the best possible match Fabric Roll: Roller Shades are fabricated with the fabric lowering from the back of the shade Optional reverse roll (fabric lowers from the front side of the shade) can be requested at no additional charge Top Treatments: Many options (surcharges apply) are available to hide the roller tube including cassettes (with or without fabric inserts), fascia, fabric wrapped cornice and IB shade valance Optional side/bottom channels are available Bottom Hembar: Standard roller shades include a heat sealed bottom hembar with open ends Sealed ends may be requested at no additional charge An external aluminum hembar can also be requested (additional charge) Light gap chart illustrates the light filtration combined from the control and idle ends of the shade. 26 ROLLER SHADE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS STEP 1: CHECK PACKAGE CONTENTS If any parts are missing, please call the place of purchase for replacement Roller Shade Universal End Plug Bracket Universal Clutch Bracket Stopper Bead Qty (4) installation screws needed; supplied by installer STEP 2: TOOLS REQUIRED Tape Measure - Pencil - Screwdriver or ¼ Hex driver - Tape STEP 3: BRACKET LOCATION & INSTALLATION Your Window Shade may be installed either inside or outside of the window frame The universal brackets shown above can be mounted as inside, outside or as ceiling brackets These brackets can also be mounted on either side of the shade to correspond with how the blind control was ordered When measuring and installing shades make sure there is some play between the roller and the brackets Shades mounted too tight in the brackets may not function properly IB or Inside Mount OB or Outside Mount STEP 4: MOUNTING THE BRACKETS & SHADE Inside Mount The universal brackets included are designed to give proper clearance for your shade s operation when installed against the top corner of your window frame Make sure that the Universal Clutch bracket is installed on the same side as the control end of your window shade Install both brackets to each corner of your window frame and install the shade. Install the clutch end first, then place the idle end in the bracket and be sure to lock the metal clasp Install brackets to the top corner of your window frame Outside Mount The Universal brackets included are designed to give proper clearance for your shades operation when installed against the side frame of your window Make sure that the Universal Clutch bracket is installed on the same side as the control end of your window shade The measurement between the outside edge of both brackets will measure ¼ inch larger than the ordered size of your blind, so a 30 inch shade would have a measurement of 30 ¼ inches from outside edge to outside edge of the brackets. Install the shades by installing the clutch end first, then place the idle end in the bracket and be sure to lock the metal clasp Install brackets to the outside frame measurement from outside bracket edge to outside bracket edge is 1/4 inch larger than the ordered shade width STEP 5: SHADE FINAL ADJUSTMENT If your shade does not roll up straight simply apply a piece of tape to the proper side of the shade If your shade veers toward the RIGHT, lower the shade completely and place a piece of tape (more than one piece may be needed), as close to the LEFT edge of the roller as possible This will act as a shim Once your shade is raising and lowering properly you then lower your shade to the proper length Take the stopper bead and bend it at the crease This bead is installed on the beaded chain to stop the shade at the proper length Place this bead on the front side of the chain If your shade veers toward the LEFT, lower the shade completely and place a piece of tape (more than one piece may be needed), as close to the RIGHT edge of the roller as possible This will act as a shim 24
