2 Description Hotchkiss Air Acoustic type C3 & C4 Circular attenuators are available in all standard circular fan sizes from 315mm to 1250mm diameter. The C3 & C4 range of attenuators have standard length options of 1x nominal fan diameter (C31/C41) or 2x nominal fan diameter (C32/C42). Type C3 Supplied without a central acoustic pod. Type C4 Supplied with a central acoustic pod (and consequentially offer a higher acoustic performance. Construction Attenuator construction for this range comprises external pre-galvanised sheet steel tube outer casing, manufactured in accordance with HVCA DW 144 specification, end rings fitted with tapped inserts to suit the relevant fan drilling detail. The attenuator inner bore is manufactured from perforated pre-galvanised sheet steel spiral tube, retaining a 45 kg/m 3 density acoustic media with a surface particulate membrane. This material has a Class 1 rating for surface spread of flame when measured to BS 476 (part ) and is suitable for velocities up to 30 m/s.
