2 March 2013 Page 2 PRESIDENT S LETTER We had a great meeting last Thursday with a great turn out and some great ideas of things to do. The first idea came from Paul Dryer, who said we should do a progressive dinner. That is when we go to 3 to 5 members houses. Each will have a course of the meal. I think we should do 5 stops and have a poker run as well, maybe with a cash payout at the end. We could call it All GTO s Progressive Dinner and Poker Run. If your GTO is not running, hop in a GTO with another member. What is needed to have this is 5 members that live in Loveland and Fort Collins area to open their homes for this dinner. We could even make a few other stops on the way at old member s houses or people you may know with GTO s. I have two dates that may work for this. May 4 th or May 11 th. Let me know which one works best for you by the next meeting in April. I would like to have a map planned out by then as well. So I guess what I m saying is if you live in the Loveland and/or Fort Collins area and you have a GTO we could end up at your house, so be ready.. Tom Graves had a great idea about having a car show with Olds, Buicks, and Pontiacs. I think this is a great idea that maybe all of us can think about when and where we should do this. This could be a great event for our club next year. The Gathering of the Goats at Echo is on for June 15 th from 11am to 3pm. I really need a great turn out for this. This show is only for GTO s. Echo Brewery is going all out for this. They are putting on a block party with a band and half price beers. They are going to give out trophy s for the most likely to be pulled over, loudest, rustiest, and so on. If you have other categories we could add just let me know. Hope to see everyone at the next meeting on April 4 th. President Lucky McSolstice President Next Club Meeting April 4th, 2013 JOHNSON'S 7:00pm Room 6:00pm for dinner - So come early!
3 March 2013 Page 3 BUSINESS MEETING MINUTES CALL TO ORDER - WELCOME MEMBERS AND GUESTS: The March meeting was called to order by President Brian Schachtner There were 14 members in attendance. MEETING MINUTES: There were no minutes read from the February meeting as Jay was absent from the meeting, as well as being a total a space cadet and not forwarding the minutes on to someone else to read for him... TREASURER S REPORT: The Treasurer's report was read by Mary Chevalier, and we have some money... OLD BUSINESS: Mary Chevalier received a 1099 from the credit card processing company, which should have never happened as we are a non-profit company. Apparently when Bob Alexander set this up he never gave them this information. It was discussed that we give the 1099 to either Bob or Beth Butcher to handle... The Gathering of the Goats at Echo Brewery was discussed. It is in full swing and they are going all out for us. Please see President's letter for more information details. A walk through at Echo Brewery will be planned for April to check how the cars will be parked and so on. 12" the weatherman said we would get. Welcome to Colorado weather). NEW BUSINESS: Paul Dreyer brought up that we could have a progressive dinner. Again, please see the President's letter for more information and details. The Club's Annual car show is back on track. All members in attendance were ready to chip in and get this show going again. (Note from Jay - I have reserved City Park in Fort Collins for September 15. We couldn't do it on the 14th, a Saturday, due to that is when the JV Football games are played so the City doesn't want to close down Sheldon Drive, the place we hold our show). PLEASE WELCOME NEW MEMBER: SKIP AND ROXANE SCHNEIDER! Skip has a 1965 GTO Convertible WELCOME TO THE NCGTOA CLUB SCHNEIDER FAMILY! Meeting adjourned. NEXT BUSINESS MEETING: The next Business Meeting will be held April 4th at Johnson's Corner - dinner at 6pm, meeting at 7pm. At the last minute, the Forney Museum tour was cancelled due to the monster snow storm we were to get on Saturday, the day before the tour. (Editor's note - we got 1" of snow instead of the
4 March 2013 Page 4 LETTER FROM THE EDITOR 2013 President: Lucky McSolstice 9002 Eldorado Avenue Frederick, CO (h) (c) bkschachtner@msn.com Vice President: Guiness McCatalina 1803 Daphne Drive Loveland, CO heavychevy47@gmail.com Secretary / Newsletter Editor: Guiness McSafari 655 Zuni Circle Fort Collins, CO (h) (c) secretary@ncgtoa.com Treasurer: Mulligan Stew McCatalina 1803 Daphne Drive Loveland, CO heavychevy47@gmail.com Webmaster: Guiness McSafari secretary@ncgtoa.com So, I miss a meeting, and it turns out to be the biggest so far this year! Just my luck, and I'm not even Irish. I would have been there, but it was Sara's concert for the second grade classes at her school. It was really cool; I was a big fat crybaby. Sara had me in tears as she was so beautiful standing up there singing her heart out. I am glad to hear the meeting went well, as it sound like President Brian had a lot of things to talk about. I love the fact we are incorporating more events in to the club. That is what keeps us all interested. I know the past few months have been pretty scarce when it comes to Club activities. I believe there are two reasons for that. 1) IT IS THE DEAD OF WINTER!! Who wants to think about a car club when it is 30 outside? 2) I think we are experiencing some burnout due to hosting the Nationals. I know I have it!! I do believe it will turn around, as we have some great new members, as well as us old cronies, that want to get back in to the swing of things. President Brian has already started the gears rolling, and it is shaping up to be a great summer full of fun car shows, cruises, and other Club happenings. Let's all lend a hand, whether it be attending meetings, helping out on an event, or just simply attending Club functions. The more the merrier! HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
