The lighter weight six pin replaced the outdated wire-laced wheels of the 1920 s and became as much of an icon as the Offy engine. The Rocket Solid and Fire are the latest addition to the Rocket Racing Wheels arsenal. The Rocket Solid and Fire feature the same classic six pin smooth design on one side and ribbed on the other. These wheels are precision crafted with durable high-tech aluminum and served up at an incredible price point. Originally, 6-pin wheels were held on by a pressure plate and knockoff. The Rocket Fire and Solid recreates the look of the original pressure plate and knockoff attachment but with the safety of a 5-lug bolt on. 14 R O C K E T Sunburst Sunburst - Hyper Shot w/optional Knockoff The original Sunburst pin-drive wheel made its debut on the AC Cobra in the early 1960 s. The AC Cobra was one of the most important performance iconic cars of the 20th century. The first thing you notice is that the long, free flowing spokes begin at the center hub and reach all the way to the outer rim lip. The spoke length gives you the visual impression that the rim diameter is larger than a 15 diameter. The hub area is perfectly framed with what appears to be the fairing of a jet engine of an airplane and spokes that look like fins of a turbine.
