Commonwealth Study Conference Association of Malaysia (COSCAM) The Association was registered on 23rd April, 1991. COSCAM is an affiliate of H.

This Conference occurs once in every six years and is open to the 54 Commonwealth countries only.

The scheduling of CSC 2007 in India and Malaysia this year is a significant break from tradition as all nine previous conferences have been held in UK, Canada and Australia by rotation.

38 delegates CSC 2007 to Malaysia on 18 March 2007 Thirteen Malaysians participated in 9 study tours in India during the same duration. The 13 candidates chosen from Malaysia are En.

2 Commonwealth Study Conference Association of Malaysia (COSCAM) The Association was registered on 23rd April, COSCAM is an affiliate of H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh's Commonwealth Study Conferences, founded in 1956, and whose Trustees' Office is in London and comprising mainly alumni members of the Conferences. This Conference occurs once in every six years and is open to the 54 Commonwealth countries only. The first conference was held in 1956 at Oxford and the Founder/President is the Duke of Edinburgh, HRH Prince Phillip. The scheduling of CSC 2007 in India and Malaysia this year is a significant break from tradition as all nine previous conferences have been held in UK, Canada and Australia by rotation. The series of Study Conferences' objective and theme since 1956 is the impact of industry and commerce on people and their environment focusing on the effects of industralisation, globalisation and development on the global community. The purpose of this leadership Conference is to provide a unique educational experience designed to broaden the understanding and decision making ability of individuals. 38 delegates CSC 2007 to Malaysia on 18 March 2007 Thirteen Malaysians participated in 9 study tours in India during the same duration. Simultaneously 38 Commonwealth delegates participated in 3 study tours in Malaysia. At The Duke of Edinburgh's Commonwealth Study Conferences Fiftieth Anniversary Reception at Buckingham Palace and the Commonwealth Secretariat on 24th May 06. A reunion on 20th October 1998 was held with COSCAM members and HRH Duke of Edinburgh who was visiting Malaysia in conjunction with Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kuala Lumpur.

3 Message from His Royal Highness Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip BUCKINGHAM PALACE If the members of the Xth Commonwealth Study Conference have enjoyed the experience anything like as much as those who have attended previous Conferences, which I am certain they have, I know that the final dinner will be a nostalgic occasion. Many friendships will have been made, and there will be much to remember before everyone makes their way home. I am sad that I will not be able to be with you for this special occasion, but I am delighted to have this opportunity to congratulate all the organisers of what, I am confident, has been responsible for this final dinner in Kuala Lumpur. I send my warmest good wishes to all the participants in the Xth Study Conference, and hope that you will have a safe journey home.

4 Message from the President Hamidi Osman-Group L, 1968 Australia It is a pleasure and honour for me to pen these few words whilst we still celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Commonwealth Study Conferences. And it is today that I am proud to say we have achieved a remarkable milestone in hosting the Tenth Commonwealth Study Conference also in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary celebration of Malaysia s Independence. Having been in Malaysia for the last 7 days, I am sure the 38 delegates from the 14 Commonwealth countries have learned and observed enough to share with us later this evening on their experiences during the study tours in Sabah, Melaka and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur / Putrajaya, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan. I wish to thank all sponsors for their contribution both in cash and kind. Especially I would like to single out the State Government of Melaka for the tremendous support and assistance given to host the study tours in the State. Not least is the Ministry of Tourism in sponsoring the Concert and souvenirs.
