2 01 MTD NEWS Editor's Note Dear Colleagues, Finally after months of planning, we are very pleased to present to you the refreshed Company newsletter in the form of E-Magazine; MTD News for your reading delight. MTD News, a biannual production represents the thoughts & ideas that we write down in our everyday lives either conventionally or virtually. With this improved piece, there are plenty to share and talk about. One for instance is the social media. Social media could be damaging but highly beneficial if we use it wisely. It s all about the virtual world and the image we portray therein. We at MTD News would therefore like to urge you fellow colleagues to start signing up for Twitter, Facebook & Instagram if you haven't done so. For those who have, we hope you are among the Group's countless official social media followers. You may follow them to keep yourself abreast of the Group's happenings. The updates i.e via Twitter on our highway traffic conditions will make your life so much easier especially during the festive periods. We would appreciate your word of mouth and own publicity to make these accounts alive. Just a gentle reminder to all - whenever you decide to click on the share button, especially on matters pertaining to the Group, always remember to avoid negativity of any forms. Think of it as your own image and you will not go wrong. Whatever values we portray will contribute to the values of the company thus it s our responsibility to guard the brand well. 3 02 MTD NEWS G R O U P E X E C U T I V E C H A I R M A N ' S M E S S A G E Assalamualaikum W.B.T and a very good day to the big family of MTD I welcome the revamp of e-news entitled MTD News in a magazine form to give it an exciting and a fresh look for the new year. The biannual virtual magazine serves to reflect upon and recollect the happenings and accomplishments of you and your Company over the past months. As we ve entered into the new year, I welcome all staff members to eagerly participate in the activities organized by the Group. Such activities are more than just them - they make us family. I enjoy seeing everyone getting together and being united as one even outside the office setting. Working as a family is vital for it will help grow a person, unit, division and the company. On the corporate front, please join me in welcoming Mr. Tee Kim Siew, who had been appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) on 5 September I am confident that the new leadership will help the Group to further prosper and take us to greater heights. Mr. Tee is not a new face in the Group. Prior to the ACEO appointment, he was Group Chief Financial Officer and Division Head of Real Estate and Property Development. In the meantime, lets close ranks to be a strong team of MTD. I will not deny the host of challenges awaiting but we can overcome this by being committed and standing united. Thank you to those who made time to attend the Group s buka puasa, Eid Fitr and Eid Adha celebrations last year. Hope you had a wonderful time especially when gathering your family with our family at the office. I am proud of our accomplishments and appreciative of your growing efforts. 10 COVER STORY ONE CROWN PLACE Our Real Estate & Property Development Division had soft launched its United Kingdom (UK) property- the One Crown Place (OCP) development. Several key bankers namely Dato' Sri Nazir Razak of CIMB and senior representatives of Maybank were invited to the launch. One Crown Place is situated on the edge of the City of London. The development comprises a total of 246 private apartments, a boutique hotel, 140,000 sq ft of premium office space, retail units totaling 7,000 sq ft, and a historic Georgian terrace that will be fully restored as part of the scheme. To date, 67 of 246 units were sold in the UK and Asian markets of Hong Kong and Singapore. Our Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Dr Nik Hussain and family paid a visit to the UK showroom to witness the development. NEW CLARK CITY PHASE 1 GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY MTD Capital is set to develop the Phase 1 development of New Clark City National Government Administrative Center (NGAC) comprising government buildings, aquatic center and athletic stadium among others. The project is another feather in the cap for the Group in the Philippines which further recognizes our capabilities as the infrastructure conglomerate in the region. The ground breaking ceremony was held on 23 January 2018 and was attended by the Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Malaysia, Mr.Rizani Irwan alongside the Group's Key Senior Management members. ALLOYMTD GIVES BACK TO COMMUNITY The community of Taman Desa Kiara, Seremban is now able to pray at and enjoy Surau Nurul Hidayah with comfort. AlloyMtd Group through its subsidiary, Associated Concrete Products (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd had carried out its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program by installing paver blocks to replace the grass areas at the surau. The surau which is located 3km from the company s Seremban factory can accommodate up to 120 congregations and serves as a community hall to about 300 people, since With this CSR project, the surau looks more appealing and is more beneficial to the local community. 10 I MTD NEWS

12 AT A GLANCE CHINESE NEW YEAR ROAD SAFETY CAMPAIGN Our highway division, ANIH Berhad hosted a Chinese New Year Safety Campaign with a twist last year where safety messages were conveyed through the art of doodles. The event took place at Genting Sempah Rest and Service Area (RSA). It was officiated by the Bentong Member of Parliament cum Minister of Transport, Dato Sri Liow Tiong Lai. Through social media, the safety messages on the doodles are able to travel faster to the community. If you are on Instagram, don t forget to search for #LPTdihati to look at the photos and if you ever go to the Genting Sempah RSA, don t forget to take photos and post it on your social network with the hashtag. 13 A T A G L A N C E AN IFTAR EVENING WITH PAHANG MEDIA CLUB ANIH Berhad organized an Iftar program with the Pahang Media Club and Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) as a gesture of appreciation and to strengthen the bonds in the holy month of Ramadhan. The Iftar, held at the Grand Darul Makmur Hotel, Kuantan were attended by Dato' Nik Fauzi Nik Hussein, Executive Director of ANIH Berhad, Dato Ir. Ismail Md. Salleh, the Director General of MHA and Dato Nik Naizi Hussein, the President of Pahang Media Club. About 260 pax of media members with family and representatives of MHA and ANIH were gathered on that night. The evening was completed with ANIH Berhad giving out cash contributions to children from Maahad Tahfiz Muhammadi. 12 MTD NEWS

14 A T A G L A N C E ANIH BERHAD #BERKONGSIBARAKAHRAMADHAN WITH HIGHWAY COMMUTERS A first time effort by ANIH Berhad, a food pack give away programme was organized with the aim to distribute food packs to ECE highway commuters especially those commuting during Iftar hours. 3,000 food packs consisting rice set, mineral water and dates were successfully distributed at different locations along the highway corridor namely Genting Sempah and Temerloh Rest & Service Areas. A drive-through counter and "Berkongsi Barakah Ramadhan" were used as the concept and theme respectively. 15 ANIH BERHAD DISTRIBUTES 20,000 PACKS OF DATES THROUGHOUT RAMADHAN Also a first time effort, ANIH Berhad distributed 20,000 packs of dates to highway commuters throughout the month of Ramadhan. The dates were meant for commuters of KLK and ECE 1 who were not able to arrive at their destination for break fast and it was a way of giving back to the community. 16 1 5 M T D N E W S A T A G L A N C E THE COLORS OF AIDILFITRI In conjunction with Aidilfitri celebration, the Group, led by Tan Sri Nik Hussain and family organized an annual celebration for staff members and business and corporate contacts. The celebration served as an avenue for staff to gather with each other and bond with the management members of the Group. The Group saw a lot of distinguished guests namely authorities from Malaysian Highway Authority and bankers. Not forgetting the less fortunate, the Group celebrated 70 children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Baitul Hassan.

17 MTD NEWS 16 Happy National Day from ANIH Berhad! ANIH Berhad celebrated the National Day by distributing car flags to highway users at the Gombak Toll Plaza. This was one of the moves to instill patriotism among them with the hopes they would exhibit the flags on their vehicles for the love of Malaysia. ECE Goes Fully Electronic On 14 August 2017, East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (ECE 1) or fondly known as LPT Fasa 1, went fully cashless. This marked the full transformation of ECE from cash to fully electronic as the mode of payment. To create awareness among the community along ECE on Electronic Toll Collection (ETC), a series of roadshows were held on September 2017 at UTC Pahang, in collaboration with Touch 'n Go. AT A GLANCE

Bhd. exhibited at the MBAM OneBuild Exhibition The 3-day event was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre for the construction & infrastructure industry players. Back To School 2018 ANIH Berhad made contribution in the form of school bags and stationary sets to several schools for its Back To School 2018 CSR program. The program benefited some 1,100 students from four selected schools along the East Coast Expressway vicinity with the aim to gear them up for the 2018 school term. AT A GLANCE

Barisan baru, nafas baru, kekuatan dalam perpaduan, kesepakatan dalam keputusan. Bagi pihak Ahli Jawatankuasa KelabKITA penggal , saya mengambil kesempatan ini untuk merakamkan ucapan setinggi-tinggi penghargaan di atas kepercayaan dan keyakinan yang telah diberikan kepada saya selaku Presiden & barisan Ahli Jawatankuasa yang dipilih di Mesyuarat Agung Kali Ke-20 pada Mei 2017 tahun lepas, dalam memimpin kelab dan melaksanakan aktiviti yang bermanfaat untuk semua. Pada 27 Julai, 2017, Ahli Jawatankuasa yang dipilih ini, bersama-sama AJK Lantikan Automatik, telah bersetuju untuk melantik 5 Ahli Jawatankuasa tambahan bagi membantu urusan kelab dan saya berharap ahli-ahli akan terus menyokong kepimpinan Ahli Jawatankuasa baru ini, di dalam usaha memenuhi objektif penubuhan, sebagaimana termaktub di dalam perlembagaan kelab. Dalam tahun kewangan bermula April 2017, KelabKITA telah berjaya melaksanakan beberapa program dan saya yakin ianya telah membantu Kumpulan Syarikat AlloyMtd, secara tidak langsung, dalam memupuk semangat muhibbah & kekitaan di kalangan warga kerjanya dan seterusnya meningkatkan produktiviti. Bermula dengan Kejohanan Sepak Takraw Jemputan Zon Timur 2017 yang diadakan di Bentong, dan disusuli dengan penampilan 20 ahli di peringkat akhir program Gempak Super Star Karaoke 2017, KelabKITA terus menyusun program-program lain seperti Tazkirah Zohor di bulan Ramadhan, Jamuan Sambutan Aidilfitri di seluruh negara dan sebagainya. Bagi pihak Ahli Jawatankuasa, sekali lagi saya merakamkan ucapan terima kasih kepada pihak Pengurusan Kumpulan Syarikat AlloyMtd di atas sokongan yang tidak berbelah bahagi, dan kepada semua ahli yang terlibat di atas penyertaan dan sokongan. Ahli Jawatankuasa sedang menyusun programprogram bagi tempoh 6 bulan akan datang sehingga Mac 2018, dan kita yakin dengan perlantikan Ahli Jawatankuasa Kelab di 16 lokasi kerja, di seluruh negara dan barisan penyelaras rumah-rumah kelab, lebih banyak aktiviti yang inklusif dapat dirancang dan dilaksana di semua peringkat. 27 MAJLIS BERBUKA PUASA BERSAMA PIHAK PENGURUSAN KelabKITA telah menganjurkan program berbuka puasa & solat Tarawikh bersama pihak pengurusan kumpulan AlloyMtd. Program tersebut dihadiri oleh Tan Sri Nik Hussain selaku Pengerusi Eksekutif Kumpulan AlloyMtd dan keluarga. 28 JAMUAN SEMPENA SAMBUTAN AIDILADHA Sempena sambutan Aidiladha yang lalu, KelabKITA sekali lagi menganjurkan majlis jamuan untuk ahli-ahli kelab. Ia dihadiri seramai 200 ahli kelab yang berlangsung di kafeteria, di ibu pejabat AlloyMtd.
