The seat is constructed of a 1/2 thick, formed plywood seat board with 2 molded foam. The foam covered seat board is upholstered with fabric. The entire seat assembly is mounted to the mechanism by 6 screws. A textured black plastic shroud attaches to the bottom of the seat. Model SNAP42 has an integral seat depth adjustment knob is attached to the underside of the mechanism, which allows the seat depth to be adjusted from 18 to 20. On model SNAP44, the seat depth cannot be adjusted. Seat (SNAP4, SNAP47, SNAP48S) The size of the seat is 19 wide by 19 deep. The seat is constructed of a 1/2 thick, formed plywood seat board with 2 molded foam. The foam covered seat board is upholstered with fabric. The entire seat assembly is mounted to the mechanism by 6 screws. A textured black plastic shroud attaches to the bottom of the seat. Models SNAP4 and SNAP48S, have an integral seat depth adjustment knob is attached to the underside of the mechanism, which allows the seat depth to be adjusted from 19 to 21. On model SNAP48, the seat depth cannot be adjusted. Backrest (SNAP42 and SNAP44) The size of the backrest is 17 wide by 15 high. The backrest has the same basic construction as the seat. In addition, the backrest is mounted onto a pivot joint at one end of the upright that provides the pivot function of the backrest. The height of the backrest can be adjusted in a 3 range by a height adjustment knob. Backrest (SNAP46, SNAP47, SNAP48 and SNAP48S) The size of the backrest is 19 wide by 17-1/2 high. The backrest has the same basic construction as the seat. The back also includes an adjustment knob that allows the backrest to be raised or lowered 3 vertically along the J-bar; SNAP48 has a 3-1/2 range. In addition, the backrest is mounted onto a pivot joint providing pivot function of the backrest. T-Nut All the T-nuts used in the plywood are rivet type to prevent their popping-off from the plywood. Mechanism (SNAP42, SNAP46, and SNAP47) A stamped and welded steel housing forms a sturdy cradle for the seat. A lever actuates the pneumatic cylinder, which adjusts the seat height from 16-1/2 to 21-1/2 with infinite selection within the range; SNAP47 s range is 23 to 33. 7 LIGHT DUTY ERGONOMIC SEATING Snap Specifications Seat Height Adjustment Lever Simply pull the seat lever up, toward seat, to activate seat height mechanism. To lower the seat, pull up on lever while sitting. To raise height, you should sit up, slightly out of the chair, while lifting lever. Release lever to lock in place. Simple Function Seat Depth Adjustment The handwheel located on the underside of the back support allows the back to be adjusted horizontally. With handwheel loosened, back can be slid forward or backward to change seat depth. Use care to make sure handwheel is tightened to avoid injury. Back and Seat Angle Adjustment Grasp lever under right side of seat and pull up to adjust back and seat angle. Shift weight on seat and pressure on back to desired position. Release lever to lock. Back Height Adjustment Loosen handwheel located on lower portion of back support. Slide back support up or down to individual preference. Tighten handwheel to hold in place. Use care to make sure handwheel is tightened to avoid injury. Advanced Function Arm Adjustment Arms can be adjusted vertically. Press the buttons at the sides of the arms and move the arms up or down as desired. For horizontal adjustment, loosen handwheels under either side of seat and slide arms in or out. Mechanism (SNAP48) A stamped and welded steel housing forms a sturdy cradle for the seat. There are three control levers. One lever actuates the pneumatic cylinder, which adjusts the seat height from 16-1/2 to 21-1/2 with infinite selection within the range. One lever adjusts the tilting angle of the seat, or sets the seat in free-floating mode. One lever adjusts the tilting angle of the back, or sets the back in free-floating mode. The seat has 10 of angle adjustment. The back has 20 of angle adjustment. Hardware All the hardware is metric threaded. Screws and bolts are treated with self-locking material to prevent their backing-out. Base (SNAP42, SNAP44, SNAP46 and SNAP48) The 24 diameter, five-blade black base is molded from reinforced nylon. A telescoping cylinder shroud conceals pneumatic cylinder. Base (SNAP47) The 25 diameter, five-blade black base is made of steel tubing with decorative plastic cover on top. A telescoping cylinder shroud conceals the pneumatic cylinder. Base (SNAP48S) The sled base is formed from 1-1/8 diameter, 2.2mm thickness steel tubing with black powder coat finish. Long stem front glides are standard. Footring The 20 black, reinforced nylon footring can be set at proper height by tightening a knob. Chrome finish, steel tube footring optional. Carpet Casters The double 50mm diameter black wheels are molded of high-impact thermoplastic and are housed in a high-impact plastic frame. Carpet and hard floor casters are available. Loop Arm 1-1/4 each side width adjustable arms. T-Arm 1-1/4 each side width and 2-1/2 height adjustable T- arms. 5

An integral seat slide button is attached to the underside of the board, which allows the seat depth to be adjusted from 16 to 19 for the chairs and 16 to 17-3/4 for the stool. A textured polypropylene seat shroud attaches to the bottom of the seat and permits access to the seat slide button. Engage Synchronized Knee Tilt Mechanism A stamped and welded steel housing contains a set of torsion bars that supply the force to the mechanism. Controls include a back angle lock, tilt tension control and pneumatic seat height lever for both the chairs and the stool, but also a forward tilt lockout for the chairs. The seat is in a 2 reclined position. When the forward tilt lock is disengaged, the seat tilts to a 2 forward position. The back angle can be locked at three positions. The tension can be increased or decreased by turning the tension dial to set the desired amount of preset on the torsion springs. The seat height can be pneumatically adjusted from /4 on the chairs and 27-1/2 to 32-1/4 on the stools with infinite selection within the range. The plastic mechanism shroud and control handles match the color of the chair. Engage Fixed Armrests A curved and angled-forward arm support that is molded from reinforced nylon supports a self-skinning urethane armrest. Seat Height Adjustment Seat height is adjusted with a pneumatic cylinder. To lower height while seated, lift the lever at the right front of the seat. To raise the height, remove your weight from the seat while lifting the lever. Arm Height Adjustment Depress button and raise or lower to desired height. Seat Depth Adjustment To adjust the Pride chair for your torso length, you can adjust the seat depth. First, depress the button located on the left rear of the seat. With the button depressed, slide the seat forward or back such that seat depth is comfortable for you. The most comfortable seat depth for most people is one in which they are able to sit well into the seat, with their back resting against the chair back, and with a slight space between the underside of their knee and the front of the seat. Seat Tension Adjustment An adjustment can be made to the chair s seat tilt tension with the dial directly under the front of the seat. To increase the tension of the tilt, turn the dial clockwise. To decrease the tension, turn the dial counterclockwise. Back Angle Adjustment To lock the back in one of three angles, first move your back to the desired position. Then, pull up on the lever at the right rear of the seat. To return the back to its free-floating position, lean back slightly and push the lever down. Forward Seat Tilt Adjustment You can choose to allow the seat tilt forward by first leaning back slightly. While leaning back, lower the lever at the left front of the seat. You can then lean forward, and the sear will tilt downward with you. To eliminate the forward tilt of the seat, first lean back slightly. While leaning back, raise the lever at the left front of the seat. The seat will no longer tilt forward. NOTE: to open the forward seat tilt, or lock it out, the back angle lock must be in the down position. Engage Adjustable Armrests with Width Adjustable Armcaps A tubular steel frame supports self-skinning urethane armrests, height-adjustable armrests (2-1/2 travel) and width adjustable armrests (1 of horizontal travel per arm). The support is welded to the seat underside and powder coated to match other hard surface elements. Engage Adjustable Armrests with Fixed Armcaps A curved and angled-forward arm support that is molded from reinforced nylon, supports a heightadjustable reinforced nylon sleeve that allows for 4 of vertical adjustment from 6 to 10 above the seat. To raise the seat, lift body weight slightly off chair while pulling the lever toward the seat. Release lever to lock in position. Lever Lock Devise (5 Locking Positions or Free Float) Rotate lever downward to lock the tilt action. Rotate lever upward to release to the free float position. Shift body weight slightly to engage or disengage lock function. Tilt Tension Adjustment To adjust chair s tilt tension, locate the hand knob on the front of the mechanism. While seated in the chair turn the hand knob clockwise to increase tension. Turn the hand knob counterclockwise to decrease tension. Back Height Adjustment To adjust back height, grasp chair back and lift to desired height. The back will lock at each click stop. To lower back, simply raise above last click stop, disengaging the ratchet mechanism, and lower back to lowest position. Raise back height to desired position. Back Depth Adjustment To adjust back depth, locate hand knob under the backside of the chair. Turn hand knob counterclockwise to loosen the assembly. Move chair back horizontally in or out to desired back depth position. Turn hand knob clockwise to tighten the assembly. Arm Width Adjustment To adjust arm width, pull up on lever moving arm horizontally in or out to one of three adjustment settings. Release lever to lock in place.
