Hopper: Rigid 7 ga stainless steel one piece end plates shall be continuously welded to a 7 ga stainless steel auger trough & 3" x 1 1/2" stainless steel rectangular tubing. The unit shall have a 10 gauge stainless steel three point hinged bottom door that when released, exposes the entire length of the auger for easy cleanout. This hinged bottom shall be held in place by two replaceable heavy duty cam locks with a lift handle for convenient one man operation. The anti-flow cover over the discharge opening is manufactured of 10 gauge stainless steel and removable without the use of tools.

2 MEYER UTG GEAR STAINLESS STEEL The 10 ga stainless steel cover/backplate will be one piece hinged integral part of the unit that may be raised when spreading and lowered when dumping. This cover shall be capable of being locked in either the raised or lowered position by two replaceable captivated latches. Drive: A 5:1 reduction gearbox shall be provided for driving the auger. This gearbox shall mount directly to the auger pipe by a non-corrosive sleeve with a 1/2" grade five (5) bolt. The gearbox shall have a right hand rotation with a bronze worm gear drive. This gearbox shall be driven by a hydraulic " orbital type" motor that is bolted onto the gearbox. Means shall be provided for an auger sensor mounting on the gearbox input shaft. Feed Mechanism: The six (6) inch (nominal) heavy duty auger shall consist of 3/8" flitting, which is welded to a 2 7/8" ERW pipe size tube. This auger shall have continuous and reverse fliting to the discharge port for more uniform dump body unloading, and shall be supported by 1 1/4" shaft ends. The auger idler shaft will be supported in sealed self- aligning precision single row radial bearing with grease fitting. The discharge port shall be located on the left side of the trough. The spinner disc shall be mounted directly onto the hydraulic motor shaft by means of a cast iron spinner hub. The spinner shall be linked to the truck frame with a universally mounted parallel arm to keep the spinner horizontal to the road at all dump box angles. A spinner shield shall be provided to prevent material from striking the truck. The spinner shall be adjustable in height. The entire spinner assembly shall be made of stainless steel. 13 SPECIFICATION FOR MEYER RTG General: This specification shall describe a replaceable tailgate spreader, manufactured for use on one-ton dump bodies that utilize standard tailgate latches to mount directly to the dump box. This spreader shall have a positive feed from the entire width of the dump box by means of an agitator and feed auger. The total overall width shall not be more than 80 3/4". This unit shall fit dump bodies with an inside width of not less than 78". This shall be accomplished with trough extensions provided with the spreader. This unit shall be factory assembled to accept servo controls. The manufacturing and production of this unit shall be of the best commercial pratices and only materials of the finest quality are to be used. Bidders must submit with their bid complete specifications on the units they propose to furnish. Trough: Rigid 1/4" steel endplates shall be continuously welded to the 7 gauge back plate to form the trough. The unit shall have a 7 gauge four point hinged bottom that, when released, exposes the entire length of the auger for easy cleanout. This hinged bottom shall be held in place by two heavy-duty captive locks with a lift handle for convenient one-man operation. The entire trough will be framed by a 2" square tubing and 2" angle iron. The tailgate latch pins shall be furnished loose for fitting at the time of installation. An anti-flow cover over the discharge opening shall be provided to prevent spillage of material when the auger is idle. There shall be a two point center mounted balanced lift hook system for easy removal and hook up with or without spinner installed.

14 SPECIFICATION FOR MEYER RTG Feed Mechanism: The material shall be fed to the discharge port by means of a single auger made of 3/8" thick fliting welded to a 2 1/2" ERW pipe size tube. This auger shall be supported on both ends by 1 1/4" steel shafts mounted in sealed self-aligning ball bearings. An agitator shall be provided to ensure material movement to the discharge port and prevent bridging. This agitator shall be made of 1 1/4" diameter shafting with 1/4" x 2" paddle type fliting welded in place. The agitator shall be supported by sealed self-aligning ball bearings. All bearings shall be equipped with grease zerks. Spinner: The spinner shall consist of a disc and six (6) fins formed into a single polyurethane unit, resulting in a flat trajectory and uniform spreading pattern from four (4) to forty (40) feet. 15 SPECIFICATION FOR MEYER RTG Drive: The auger and agitator are to be driven by a single "orbital type" hydraulic motor. Power shall be transmitted from the motor shaft to the auger shaft sprocket to the auger and agitator sprocket by means of a #60 roller chain. The spreader shall be equipped with a hydraulic safety interlock device to positively prevent power from reaching the auger/agitator motor when the bottom door is opened beyond the normal operation position. The spinner disc shall be driven by an individual "orbital type" motor that is connected directly onto the spinner disc, thus eliminating any loss of power through transmission. Both motors will be capable of delivering high torque at low speeds. The spinner and auger feed rate shall both be independently adjustable. Powder Coating: All metal shall have the mill scale removed by means of shot blasting. The unit shall then go through a series of high-pressure chemical wash and rinse stages. The unit shall then have a powder resin applied to all surfaces. Immediately following the application of powder the steel shall be heated to a minimum of 375 degrees for no less than ten minutes. 16 SPECIFICATION FOR MEYER PRODUCTS STCC P/N General: This cross conveyor spreader shall be used to transfer material to either the right or left hand feedgate for repair of road shoulders, asphalt patching, sandbag filling or center line spreading. The entire unit shall mount to the sides of the dump box allowing the unit to remain parallel to the ground or to easily lock in position for dumping over the conveyor. The overall width of the conveyor shall not exceed 102". This unit shall be capable of discharging granular materials at rates of up to 240 tons/hr (4.0 tons/min.) from either side. The entire unit shall be capable of removal by quick disconnect pins. The manufacturing and production of this unit shall be of the best commercial practices and only materials of the finest quality are to be used. Bidders must submit with their bid complete specifications on the unit they propose to furnish. Trough: The endplates shall be manufactured of 3/8" steel and continuously welded to a 7 gauge longitudinals forming a 19 3/8" wide trough. There shall be two 9" x 14" 7 gauge feedgates located at the ends of the trough, each being adjustable by a self locking screw type gate jack and equipped with a bottom mounted rubber seal. The 7 gauge cover/back plate shall be a one-piece hinged integral part of the unit that may be raised when spreading and lowered when dumping over the trough. This cover plate can be locked in both the raised and lowered position by two simple capivated latches. A 14 gauge chain guard cover, which is bolted into place, shall protect the drive mechanism. Conveyor: This conveyor system shall be a belt-over-chain barflite type running longitudinally in the trough, capable of feeding material to either feedgate opening. The conveyor chain shall be a heat-treated 2.25 pitch self-cleaning pintle type with 7/16" pins and a tensile strength per strand of 21,000 pounds.

17 SPECIFICATION FOR MEYER PRODUCTS STCC P/N This chain shall utilize a 1/4" x 1 1/2" x 15" crossbar welded on both the top and bottom to the chain link making an overall width of 18" and positioned on approximately 4.5" centers. Assembled to the chain barflight shall be a heavy duty multi-ply, heat resistant (up to 350 degrees) rubber covered belt. This belt shall be attached to every other bar by three (3) large rivets with the belt ends spliced together with a hinged splicer arrangement. Replaceable rubber chain shields shall run the full length of the trough to help restrict the material to the exposed belting only. Two (2) 8 tooth sprockets shall drive the conveyor chain. These sprockets shall be welded to a 1 1/2" shaft and supported in heavy duty, sealed, self-aligning ball bearings equipped with grease fittings. A heavy duty adjustment assembly shall provide for proper chain tension. Extension Chute: A chute shall be provided to extend material drop location approximately 24". Chute shall be quick detachable. Power Drive: There shall be one "orbital type" hydraulic motor to drive the conveyor. Power shall be transmitted to the drive sprocket from the motor by means of a #60 roller chain. The hydraulic motor is capable of operating in either direction by reversing the flow of oil to the motor. Powder Coating: All metal parts shall have the mill scale removed by means of shot blasting. The unit shall then go through a series of high pressure wash and rinse stages. A powder resin shall be applied to all metal surfaces.

18 SPECIFICATION FOR MEYER PRODUCTS STCC P/N Immediately following the application of the powder the steel shall be heated to a minimum of 375 degrees for not less than ten minutes. The finished product shall be white in color. STCC 04/01/2007
