1 Job Sheet 1 Introduction to Fluid Power Fluid Power Basics Fluid power relies on a hydraulic system to transfer energy from a prime mover, or input power source, to an actuator, or output device (Figure 1-1). Flow in a hydraulic system is produced from a positive displacement pump rather than a centrifugal pump. There are three important 1. Flow makes it go.
