Installation Instructions Spiral Step 1 Locate and remove control box from shipping carton.

You will need to install the included 8 AA rechargeable batteries (see tray for correct direction of batteries).

Install the round plug on the transformer into the 12V DC side of the control box and plug the other end into a home 110V AC wall outlet.

3 Installation Instructions Spiral Step 1 Locate and remove control box from shipping carton. Turn control box over and remove the screws from bottom of box. Inside the box are two AA battery trays. You will need to install the included 8 AA rechargeable batteries (see tray for correct direction of batteries). After installing the batteries, place cover on control box and reinstall screws. Install the round plug on the transformer into the 12V DC side of the control box and plug the other end into a home 110V AC wall outlet. Step 2 Wipe the flat side of all large wire channels and the small wire track with the alcohol swabs provided in the kit. Let dry completely. Note: It is very important to wipe all channel assemblies prior to installation to ensure proper adhesion Step 3 Apply the larger (3/8") roll of double back tape to the back of all the pieces of the large wire channels, leaving the protective white strip on the tape at this time. Step 4 Apply the small (1/4") roll of double back tape to the small wire track with the slot facing toward you, leaving the protective white strip on the tape at this time. Step 5 Using the alcohol swabs provided, wipe the full length of the backside of the spiral vertical pole next to the welded area and allow to dry completely. Step 6 Attach the large wire channel to the vertical pole on the area just cleaned. Remove the protective white strip from the back of the double backed tape and starting at the top of the pole, stick the track to the pole and press firmly. Leave 1/8" space between wire channel & bottom of tread flange (to allow channel cover to fit over channel).

Staircases Step 7 Continue down the pole aligning each 4' section of large wire channel.

Note: Be sure the groove on the channel is facing up when cutting.

4 Staircases Step 7 Continue down the pole aligning each 4' section of large wire channel. Cut each 4' section so it ends in the middle of the stair collar. Use the cutter to cut the pieces as shown. Note: Be sure the groove on the channel is facing up when cutting. Right hand up stair Left hand up stair Step 8 The last piece of channel will need to be cut using the cutter provided. Hold channel up to the pole and mark at the bottom of the last stair collar. Note: Be sure the groove on the channel is facing up to cut. Step 9 Install the large wire into the larger wire channel with the lettering facing outward, starting 1/4" from the top and ending 1/4" from the bottom. Cut off the excess wire with the cutter. The wire should lay flat in the channel with no twists. Step 10 Remove lights from bag. Use the alcohol swabs to clean light assembly; allow to dry completely.

Step 11 The back of LED light is determined by the direction of its wire, (going left or right), which connects to the large wire track.

Place the LED light assembly wire around the end of stair tread.

Step 13 At the bottom of the large wire channel, place the last LED plug assembly one plug width from the bottom of the channel.

5 Step 11 The back of LED light is determined by the direction of its wire, (going left or right), which connects to the large wire track. After determining the direction of the wire left or right, apply 3/8" double back tape to LED light using the cutter provided. Step 12 Start at the top of the stairs. Place the LED light assembly wire around the end of stair tread. Install the plug end of the LED light assembly by placing it over the large wire channel, pressing firmly until the plug latches onto the wire. Repeat for each LED light assembly on the stairs. Step 13 At the bottom of the large wire channel, place the last LED plug assembly one plug width from the bottom of the channel. Below the LED plug, install the plug assembly for the power wire and run it to the control box. Step 14 On same side of control is a 3 position switch AUTO / ON / OFF. AUTO - Turns system on and off automatically based on ambient light conditions ON - System remains on all the time OFF - System is off Note: Control Box should be placed in an area that changes with the room s natural lighting. Turn system to ON to test lights. If the lights are flashing, this is due to the rechargeable batteries not being fully charged. No action is required; the lights will stop flashing once the batteries are fully charged. If they do not light at all, go back to the red and black connector on the side of the control box. Remove the wires and reverse them. Ensure all lights work before continuing. Step 15 Using the alcohol swabs, wipe the underside of the front of all steps. Let dry completely. Step 16 Cut the small wire track into lengths of 14" for small spiral stairs (3'6", 4', 4'6" diameter) or 16" lengths for larger spiral stairs (5', 5'6", 6' diameter).

6 Step 17 Start at bottom stair. Install the small wire track with the slot facing toward you by removing the protective white backing tape from the double back tape. Place under step 1/4" from the center pole or side of stair case, press firmly. LED Step 18 Remove the protective white backing from the double back tape on the back of the LED light and install it at the end of the small wire track by pressing firmly. Step 19 Using the wooden tongue depressor, carefully push the wire from the LED light into the small slot on the front of the small wire track. Repeat steps 17, 18 and 19 until all stairs have tracks and LED lights on them. Step 20 Measure between each plug and cut the channel cover to fit between the plugs to cover the large wire. NOTE: Cut channel cover with groove facing up. Step 21 Turn Control Box switch to AUTO. You re Finished! For Installation help call:

7 ATTENTION: For indoor use only. Spiral stair must have wood tread covering. Do not install in wet areas, unless Water-Resistant Control Box Container is purchased. Use only the provided power supply for the control box. Handle LED plugs carefully. Sharp barbs inside plug may cause injury. Keep kit and all parts out of the reach of children. All remaining scraps and materials should be disposed of properly to prevent injury. Control Box requires 8 AA rechargeable batteries (included with kit) for emergency lighting feature to function. Painting the Stairlighting Kit: If you wish to paint the cover and LED assembly it should be done prior to cutting into pieces. Wipe all parts with alcohol swabs provided. Latex, enamel or acrylic paints recommended (spray or brushed). Do not paint over LED lights. Do not paint over metal barbs on plugs. Use masking tape to protect LED lights and barbs.
