10 If the flight can be conducted without electrical power, land at the nearest suitable airport. If electrical power is required for safe continuation of the flight, proceed as follows: WARNING The following procedure may reenergize the faulty system. If the faulty system is reinstated, its corresponding circuit breaker must be pulled immediately. Do not reset a tripped circuit breaker. One (1) Main Bus Tie Circuit Breaker...IN Battery Master Switch..ON Left or Right Alternator Circuit Breaker IN Corresponding Alternator Field Circuit Breaker...IN Corresponding Alternator Switch.ON Main Bus Circuit Breakers: Electric Tachometer...IN Landing Gear Indicator..IN Avionics Bus #1.IN Avionics Bus #2.IN Radio Master Switch ON Compass.IN Audio..IN Comm #1 IN Nav #1 IN Vents..... (If fire is Extinguished) OPEN If Fire Continues. EMERGENCY DESCENT WARNING The landing gear must be lowered using the emergency extension procedure. Refer to Manual Extension of Landing Gear Checklist. 10
11 CABIN FIRE *REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ACTION* Vents and Heater Intake..CLOSED Fire Extinguisher ACTIVATE If Fire Continues.EMERGENCY DESCENT LANDING GEAR MALFUNCTIONS LANDING GEAR UNSAFE WARNINGS Red light indicates gear is not fully up or not fully down and locked. If indication continues: Landing Gear RECYCLE Red light will illuminate, and gear horn will sound when the gear is not down and locked when throttles are below 14 MP and/or flaps are 25 or 40 or if the landing gear selector is in the up position on the ground. LANDING GEAR FAILS TO RETRACT WITH PUMP STILL RUNNING Climb to a safe altitude and fly to an uncongested area before completing checklist. Landing Gear Circuit Breaker..PULL Landing Gear Selector... DOWN Landing Gear Circuit Breaker....IN If pump continues to run, pull circuit breaker after all three green gear down and locked lights illuminate. 11
12 ONE OR MORE GREEN GEAR DOWN LIGHTS FAILS TO ILLUMINATE Climb to a safe altitude and fly to an uncongested area before completing the checklist. Navigation Lights or Day/Night Switch.OFF Circuit Breakers...CHECK IN Master Switch...ON Alternators ON Light Bulb... SWITCH WITH KNOWN GOOD BULB If all three gear down and locked indicator lights are not confirmed, use the throttles and flaps to check the gear warning horn and proceed to MANUAL EXTENSION OF LANDING GEAR CHECKLIST. MANUAL EXTENSION OF LANDING GEAR Climb to a safe altitude and fly to an uncongested area before completing the checklist. Navigation Lights or Day/Night Switch.OFF Circuit Breakers... CHECK IN Master Switch...ON Alternators ON Airspeed....REDUCE TO <100 KIAS Gear Selector.. GEAR DOWN Emergency Gear Extend Knob.PULL Indicator Lights...3 GREEN, NO RED, MIRROR Leave Emergency Gear Extension Knob Out. It may be necessary to maneuver the aircraft in order to assist one or more landing gear to lock into place. 12
13 GEAR UP EMERGENCY LANDING Airspeed KIAS Flaps..UP Contact with the surface should be made at a minimum airspeed. AFTER LANDING: Master Switch.OFF Ignition Switches OFF Fuel Selectors..OFF ELECTRICAL FAILURES SINGLE ALTERNATOR FAILURE Anytime total tie bus voltage is below 12.5 Vdc, the LO BUS voltage annunciator will illuminate. Verify Failure CHECK AMMETERS Electrical Load...REDUCE If LO BUS voltage annunciator is illuminated, reduce until total load is less than 60 amps and LO BUS annunciator turns off. Failed Alternator Switch.OFF Failed Alternator Circuit Breaker.CHECK DO NOT RESET TRIPPED CIRCUIT BREAKER Failed Alternator Switch...ON If Power is Not Restored: Failed Alternator Switch.OFF Ammeter.. MONITOR The total electrical load must not exceed 60 amps. Reduce the electrical load as necessary to prevent the operating alternator from exceeding 60 amps. 13
14 DUAL ALTERNATOR FAILURE Anytime total tie bus voltage is below 12.5 Vdc, the LO BUS voltage annunciator will illuminate. Verify Failure CHECK AMMETERS Electrical Load...REDUCE Alternator Switches.OFF Alternator Circuit Breakers...CHECK ONLY RESET CIRCUIT BREAKERS IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY FOR CONTINUED FLIGHT Alternator Switches..ON If Only One Alternator Resets: Operating Alternator Switch.ON Failed Alternator Switch.OFF Electrical Load MAINTAIN LESS THAN 60 AMPS Ammeter..MONITOR If Neither Alternator Resets: Both Alternator Switches OFF Electrical Load...REDUCE Anticipate total electrical failure. Compass error may exceed 10 with both alternators inoperative. In the event of a total electrical failure, the landing gear must be lowered manually and the gear down and locked annunciators will not operate. SPIN RECOVERY Throttles.CLOSE Rudder..FULL OPPOSITE TO DIRECTION OF SPIN Control Wheel. FULL FORWARD Ailerons...NEUTRAL Rudder...NEUTRALIZE WHEN ROTATION STOPS Control Wheel..SMOOTH BACK PRESSURE 14
