3 Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the "Accessory Installation Practices" document. This document covers such items as:- Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.). Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy of this document. 1. Vehicle Protection Ratchet, 10mm Socket Negative Battery Cable (a) Remove the negative battery cable (Fig. 1-1). (1) Protect the fender before starting. (2) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tools when removing the cable. Fig. 1-1 Battery 2. Disassembly of Vehicle NOTE: Place all removed parts on a protected surface. NOTE: When disconnecting wiring connectors do NOT pull on the wiring, pull on the connector only. NOTE: Engage the parking brake while working. Instrument panel cluster finish center panel Claw Clips ( 5) (a) Remove the instrument panel cluster finish center panel. (1) Disengage the claw and 5 clips and remove the instrument panel cluster finish center panel (Fig. 2-1). (2) Disconnect the connector (Fig. 2-1). Fig. 2-1 Page 3 of 35 pages

Used to wrap around the 8P connector from the vehicle video cable. Used to bundle excess customer video cable. <Small pieces> Used to fix the GPS antenna cord. Used to fix the wire harness. Used to fix the microphone cord. Used to fix the Bluetooth antenna cord. Used to wrap around the customer video cable. 12 4. GPS antenna installation Release paper Earth plate Front (a) Install and route the GPS antenna. NOTE: Before attaching the butyl tape, wipe any dirt, water or oil off the attachment surface with VDC approved cleaner. Butyl tape M ( 2) Bracket Air conditioning duct Earth plate (1) Remove the release paper from the earth plate and the butyl tape, and apply butyl tape to the bottom of the earth plate (Fig. 4-1). 60mm (2) Attach the earth plate onto the air conditioning duct (Fig. 4-1). 13 5. Microphone installation NOTE: Set the steering wheel in the Tilt Down / Telescopic stretch position. Scissors Cord rail 20mm 40mm (a) Install the cord rail. (2) Remove the release paper from the cord rails and attach the cord rails to the upper steering column cover (Fig. 5-2). (b) Install the microphone. (1) Route the REV signal wire (Green) from the wire harness, along the vehicle wire harness to the vicinity of the combination meter (Fig. 6-2). NOTE: Before attaching the Bluetooth antenna, wipe any dirt, water or oil off the attachment surface with VDC approved cleaner. (1) Move the center console box to the vehicle rear so that the Bluetooth antenna can be attached (Fig. 7-1). (2) Remove the release paper from the Bluetooth antenna (Fig. 7-1). (3) Align the Bluetooth antenna with the vehicle clamp and attach it to the center tunnel on the passenger side (Fig. 7-1). <For Automatic Transmission Models> Vehicle wire harness Bluetooth antenna cord (b) Route the Bluetooth antenna cord. (1) Route the Bluetooth antenna cord and fix it to the vehicle wire harness with foam tape S (Fig. 7-2). <For Manual Transmission Models> Bluetooth antenna cord Foam tape S NOTE: As for the manual transmission models, fix the Bluetooth antenna cord to the floor surface as there are no wire harnesses. (1) For noise prevention, wrap vinyl tape around the 6 / 2 video connectors on the RCA relay cable to secure them (Fig. 8-1). Foam tape M (1) For noise prevention, wrap foam tape M around the 8P connector (male) from the vehicle video cable (Fig. 9-1). (1) Route the vehicle video cable along the instrument panel brace (R) to the foot area of the passenger side (Fig. 9-2). 25 10. Customer video cable installation. Scriber, Ruler Lib Glove compartment door assembly (a) Drill a wire hole. (1) Using a piece of pattern paper, make a mark on the back of the glove compartment door assembly with a scriber (Fig. 10-1). NOTE: The pattern paper is on the last page. Fig Mark Pattern paper Pattern paper Scriber Electric drill Glove compartment door assembly (2) Drill a 1 1 / 16 hole into the mark using an electric drill (Fig. 10-2). NOTE: Remove any burs or sharp edges from the hole. However, care must be taken so that the hole diameter will not exceed 1 1 / 16. (1) Install the brackets (L and R) onto the navigation system with the 6 bolts (M5 8) (Fig. 11-1). NOTE: If also installing an XM tuner, the XM data cable needs to be connected as well. NOTE: Do not mistakenly connect the vehicle connector (16P) to the navigation system. (1) Position the negative terminal back to the factory position. (2) Tighten the nut to 36 in-lbs. (3) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tools when replacing the cable. (4) Connect the DCC fuse. OPEN button (b) Switch to the Diagnostic Mode Screen. (1) Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (2) Verify that the panels fit together properly with no uneven gaps between them. (b) Clean up and remove any trash. (c) Remove short pin. (d) Place 2 Owner s Manuals in glove box. (e) Be careful not to bend the customer video cable jack with the Owner s Manual etc.
33 Checklist - these points MUST be checked to ensure a quality installation. Check: Accessory Function Checks Press the AV button and check that the AV MENU screen appears. Look For: Check that AM and FM broadcasts sound from each speaker. Radio antenna connection is ok Touch the Volume button and check that the volume level displayed on the volume screen changes accordingly. Press the MAP button and check that the map screen appears. Touch and scroll the map displayed on the screen and check that the map can be scrolled. Check for the GPS icon on display when under open sky. GPS antenna connection is ok. Using the Brightness / Contrast function, check that the illumination intensity changes correctly on the display. Connect the USB checker to the USB & AUX BOX and check that the speaker emits sound. USB connector connection is ok. Check that sound is emitted using a CD. Connect an external video player to the customer video cable and check that the video is displayed (PKB must be engaged for this check). Video cable connection is ok. Page 33 of 35 pages

Auto-open and Auto-close operation of each of the Power Windows is possible with the driver s seat master switch. Door Lock and Unlock functions operate correctly. Volume, Mode and Seek function.
