That refers to a motor opening and closing of the lid. 2 First, start to make your cable-tree which is shown in the above picture connected into the HKFM s A43*1B connector. It s the pin connector. 3 Get some good plastic pry tools, you will need them a lot. After removing all the plugs, carefully remove the whole carpet and the bumper cover which goes off pretty hard. Unplug the pole of the battery and start to remove the old springs by pure force. Be careful, when you remove them, the lid can fall on your head, so secure it in the open position.

Its recommended to put in 51717205169 and 170 as reinforcement not shown in

Put a flat screwdriver under the metal clip on the end of the new springs it makes it easier to clip them onto the joints.

Fuse 183 should be empty, 153 should be occupied, so just make a cable-cable connection, dont try to pull out the pin (its too damn hard ).

5 Here you can see the HKFM module in its housing and the fusebox released you need access to the back of the fusebox. to make 3 connections 2 coming from the HKFM (fuse 183 and 153) and 1 which will supply the soft close mechanism in the lid. Fuse 183 should be empty, 153 should be occupied, so just make a cable-cable connection, dont try to pull out the pin (its too damn hard ). Prepare a 4m long 1,25mm 2 diameter wire which you have to connect to the fuse 155 in the Z26B block in the fusebox. After you have all three wires connected, you can put the fusebox back in place. Connect the cables coming from both springs into the HKFM. Attach the 2 ground cables coming from the HKFM into Z108B picture shows just one. Now onto the lid itself. Pry all out, push on the sides where the arrows are, remove gently, dont forget to disconnect the small light

Mount it with the help of the rubber plugs.

6 Mount the soft close mechanism, guiding the bowden like in the picture, also guide the wire coming from the soft close to the lock. Mount it with the help of the rubber plugs. Now attach the bowden and the cable to the lock, and fix it into its position with the big torx screws.

7 The old lock has a 4 pin connector, but you need a 6 pin connector for the new one. Follow the scheme to create the new connector using pin connector.

Pull the cable which you connected to the fuse 155

8 Pull the cable which you connected to the fuse 155 together with a long (10m, 0,85mm 2 ) wire through the tube with help of a hard cable. Connect the Fuse wire to PIN 1 and the thinner long cable to PIN 6. Now we have to take care of the switch which activates the automatic trunk. We slightly have to alter its connector as well. Unused PIN 2 with a new wire (around 20cm long) Attach the new wire to a grey-yellow wire found in this bundle

ISTA says the following find the CAN cables in X1551V. I havent found them there.

9 Ok, so the trunk is wired, we now need to connect the last 3 wires which let the car communicate with the trunk the CAN bus wires coming from the HKFM and the long cable coming from the lock mechanism PIN 6. ISTA says the following find the CAN cables in X1551V. I havent found them there. They should be 2 twisted wires, easy to find. So I found them on the other side in the trunk connecting into the Camera module. I followed them from the rear drivers side door into the trunk.

Now comes the funny part Lead the only cable left to the front around the passenger side into the junction box behind the glove box. Just push the cable between the carpet and the covers, pry them up a little bit to easy the cable underneath them. When you have the cable at the front passenger footwell area start to remove the glovebox.

11 Gently pry out the wood trim with the middle vents to acces the torx screws of the glovebox.

There are some hidden screws, you should not forget.

12 There are some hidden screws, you should not forget. If you have a DVD changer, you have to remove it first. It has 5 torx screws holding it to the glovebox and one cable that unplugs on the back. Be careful with the USB port! Also there is a connector on the middle side of the glovebox which you have to disconnect. After that you either fully remove the glovebox or just let it hang on the USB cable.

Now you can try to assemble everything back The trunk should work after you attach the battery, but it might still have some issues
