1 Section J Overview Our extensive line of air control nozzles, used in drying and blowing applications, includes products that use regenerative blowers and products that require compressed air. WindJet Air Knife Packages with Blowers: For use when a continuous stream of air is required and heated air from the temperature rise caused by the blower is desirable. Offer the longest length of knife combinations and should be used when a total combined length of knives over 24" (610 mm) is required. Offer the cleanest air available (HEPA filtration option) and the lowest operating cost. Extremely versatile different types and sizes of packages available. WindJet Low Flow Air Knives: For use when a continuous stream of air is required or the air needs to be cycled on and off and compressed air lines are available. No increase in air temperature. Ideal for use when less than 24" (610 mm) total combined length of all knives is acceptable and the knives can be mounted close to the target. Variable Air Amplifiers: For use when directed air or cycling air is required and compressed air is available. Performance can be adjusted. Can be used as an exhaust device. Ideal for robotic applications. 727 WindJet Air Knife Manifold: For use when high impact, air cycling and/or customized air stream is required and compressed air is available. Ideal as final stage blow-off after blower packages for objects that require high velocities. Available in a wide range of materials. Realize a 20% to 50% utility cost savings by using WindJet Air Control nozzles instead of drilled holes in pipe or shop-fashioned flattened pipe.

Efficient air control nozzle performance is dependent on proper filtration of compressed air. Use a filter/separator to remove excess oil and water just prior to the nozzles.

When possible, increase the distance between the target surface and the nozzle to reduce noise caused by air impacting the target.

When creating a curtain, place nozzles up to 12" (305 mm) apart depending on the application.

Specify the nozzle with the lowest flow available that meets your application requirements to minimize air consumption and reduce noise. Efficient air control nozzle performance is dependent on proper filtration of compressed air. Use a filter/separator to remove excess oil and water just prior to the nozzles. Use a pressure regulator and gauge on the air line to keep pressure as low as possible to minimize operating costs and noise and improve safety. When possible, increase the distance between the target surface and the nozzle to reduce noise caused by air impacting the target. To reduce the number of nozzles required, position nozzles to wipe sideways across a moving target at a comparatively shallow angle. When creating a curtain, place nozzles up to 12" (305 mm) apart depending on the application. Air control nozzles are available in many materials and can be used with CO 2, nitrogen, steam or other compatible gases for special heating or cooling applications. In cleaning applications, angle the nozzles 15 to 45 to ensure the contaminant is removed from the product surface. For simple, accurate adjustment of nozzle orientation, install adjustable ball joints with air control nozzles.
