Rotate the machine by 90 degrees like (Fig.2), the air filter cover would be on the top side, use the accessory box to put under the gear case like (Fig.3) Page 2. b.) Remove the four Bolts M8X25,and the NUTs M8 as per (Fig.3) Page 2. c.) Assemble the right control handle on the connect plate from the right side.(fig. 4) Page 2. d.) Assemble the left control box on the connect plate from left side, use the bolts and nuts which where dismounted on step (b) (Fig. 5) Page 2. e.) Tighten the bolts and nuts. (Fig 6) Page 2. f.) The Auger should look like (Fig 7) Page 3. 3.) Check and change the Bit a.) This unit is equipped with one bit, make sure the bit is secured to the Auger head before starting by using the tool that was supplied to you. Tighten the M8 screw clockwise.(fig 9) Page 4. b) To change the bit, remove the screw M8 counter-clockwise. The replacement bit must be specifically for this machine. (Fig. 8) Page 4. Warning!Always follow the safety rules. Do not lock the power drill onto fixed supports. Do not apply tools or applications other than the ones indicated by the manufacturer onto the power drill. 12
15 STARTING 1. Fuel Mixture Use a 2% or 4% (50:1 or 25:1) oil/gasoline mixture (Fig.10) (Please use fuel mixture of 25:1(gasoline:oil) 20 hours before the the machine runs.) Warning!2-stroke engines have high specific horsepower and we recommend the use of regular or super unleaded gasoline, with or without lead and an octane rating of no less than 90. When preparing the mixture, only use oil for two stroke engines. Shake the fuel mixture container before filling the tank. (Fig.11) Page 4. Refill when the engine is switched off and far away from sparks or flames. Before unscrewing the fuel tank cap, position the power drill on a flat, solid surface to prevent fuel spills. Gasoline is highly flammable.refuel outdoors only. Never add or replace fuel when the engine is in operation or before the engine stops. Do not leave the mixture in the fuel tank or in a fuel canister for a long period of time. Do not start the engine if fuel leakage is found. 2. Starting The Engine a) Put switch (I,Fig.14) Page 5. in the START position. b) Put the choke lever (M, Fig.15. Fig.16) Page 5. in the CLOSE position. c) Push the primer bulb (L, Fig.12. Fig.13) Page 5. a few times until the fuel comes out of the fuel tube. d) Pull the starter rope (N,Fig.17) Page 5. a few times until the engine starts. e) Put the choke lever (M, Fig.15. Fig.16) Page 5. back to the original position OPEN 13
16 Note Do not use the choke (M, Fig.15. Fig.16) Page 5 when starting a hot engine. When the engine is idling, the bit should not turn. Warning! If the bit jams, stop the engine immediately. Note When pulling the pull start a) Do not let the starter grip snap back b) Do not pull the starter rope out all the way as it might break. (N,Fig.17) c) Guide it slowly back into the housing so that the starter rope can rewind properly. STOPPING THE ENGINE a) Bring the throttle to the idle position (J,Fig.14) and run it for 2~3 minutes at a low speed until the engine cools. b) Switch off the engine (I,Fig.14) by putting it on the STOP position. c) Remove the bit, clean the machine. Important Avoid stopping the engine suddenly when it running in high speed. Doing so could cause damage to the machine. MAINTENANCE-STORAGE AIR FILTER-Clean every 25 hours, remove the cover(q,fig.19) and the filter (P Fig.20). The filter should be washed with warm water and dried before re-installing. CARBURETOR-Idle screw is adjusted in order to ensure a good safety margin between idle turning and clutch engagement. Important Weather conditions and altitude may affect carburation. Warning! Do not adjust the carburetor. FUEL FILTER Check the fuel filter (R,Fig21) periodically. Replace if it gets too dirty. A dirty filter can cause difficult starting and lower engine performance. 14
17 ENGINE-Clean the cylinder fins with compressed air or a brush periodically. Overheating of engine may occur due to impurities in the cylinder. SPARK PLUG-Remove the spark plug cover, unscrew the spark plug. Clean the spark plug if carbon deposits are found. Polish the electrode with abrasive paper and adjust the electrode gap to mm (Fig.22) Page 6. BIT-Always check the drill bit. Sharpen or replace it if necessary. Check and repair the blade (X,Fig.26) regularly. Or contact the dealer to replace REDUCTION GEARBOX-Every 100 working hours change the grease in the reduction gearbox (Fig.23). Page 6. EXTENSION SHAFT-Please use extensions shafts or bits that are specified for this machine. STORAGE a) Follow all the maintenance procedures described previously. b) If storing for a long period of time, clean the power drill completely and grease moving parts. c) Remove, clean and oil the bit to prevent rusting. d) Empty the fuel tank and put the cap back on. e) Remove the spark plug and pour a small amount of oil into the cylinder (Fig.24). f) Pull the pull start rope several times, rotate the crankshaft to distribute the oil. Put the spark plug back in. g) Wrap the engine in a plastic bag. h) Store the power drill in a dry place, preferably off the ground and away from heat sources. 15
