2 Introduction MoDPlus DIN Distribution Panel Board System MoDPlus Din type Distribution Board System has been designed and developed locally, incorporating features and benefits not normally found in proprietary type panel boards. Consideration has been given to the requirements most often specified by discerning electrical consulting engineers enabling MoDPlus panels to form part of a total supply package by switchboard builders for major or minor projects. MoDPlus comprises a system of modular enclosures which can easily be bolted together, either vertically or horizontally. When joining enclosures vertically extra securing holes are provided, separate from the gland plate fixings. When joining enclosures side by side, holes have not been provided but dot punch marks are in the metalwork for ease of locating drilling points. Drilling points are also located for hole saw location to simplify placement of holes for cable bushes. TYPICAL DISTRIBUTION BOARD ARRANGEMENT Enclosures can be used as distribution boards with or without A isolator incorporating 3 phase type tested chassis, earth and neutral links, escutcheon, door if required and top and bottom gland plates. For housing of equipment such as control gear for lighting, load shedding or automation, each enclosure in the range can be supplied empty with door only and two vertically arranged cable trays or with several other options. For horizontal mounting of Din profile equipment such as Clipsal C Bus lighting controls, equipment enclosures incorporate Din rail brackets either straight or stepped enabling both Din profile and non Din profile equipment on the same rail. These enclosures are available with slotted escutcheons featuring optional hinges either left or right hand side. For other requirements enclosures can be supplied with gear trays which attach to the vertical cable trays within the enclosure. Gear trays are pre-punched for easy fitment of Din rail. Components supplied by Bridex all comply with the latest Australian or European Standards and mandatory devices such as MCB's, RCD's and RCBO's have all been certified by Department of Fair Trading. LS Din type MCB's have been tested in conjunction with a range of LS MCCB's to enable correct application ensuring discrimination and enhaced back-up. Page 2

4 MoDPlus DIN Distribution Panel Board System Enclosures for distribution boards Distribution board enclosures have been designed for ease of cabling with adequate space to pull through cables and with fitment of cable trays. Circuit breakers can be easily fitted to the chassis system having excellent alignment properties. This enables the escutcheon to be fitted and secured efficiently. Earth and Neutral links are well supported by fixing brackets which extend into the corners of the enclosure. The upper horizontal bracket when fitted supports the isolator and provides a means for housing accessory items such as emergency lighting kits, surge diverters and lighting contactors. The vertical cable trays ensure stiffness of the enclosure for greater rigidity even when fixing to uneven surfaces. Fixing of the enclosure to the wall or brackets can be achieved simply via the three fixing holes. Enclosures for base mounted equipment DB 5/24 with escutcheon removed Equipment enclosures for base mounted accessory items such as latched contactors, HRC fault current limiters, higher rated main switches or MCCBs and conventional contactors are supplied with pre-punched gear plates. Pre-punching of holes provides for many mounting options for Din rail cable ducting etc. AB 4E Equipment Enclosure with gear plate fitted Enclosures for surface mounted equipment Surface mounted equipment is easily accommodated on the straight or stepped horizontal Din rail brackets at 175mm centres. Stepped brackets enable combination of Din surface and base mounted equipment on the same rail. Typical equipment suitable for housing in these enclosures includes normally open and normally closed lighting contactors, time delay relays, surge protection devices, time clocks, control relays and rotary cam switches.
