2 2 PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY This set of Rules is designed as a basic guideline. Peterborough Speedway operates on a special events invitational basis. Therefore, some variations for outside cars may be necessary. All cars running in a feature or qualifying event are subject to technical inspection by random selection at the end of the race. Any car running illegal non-stock parts will be disqualified. No car will be permitted to compete in an unsafe mechanical condition. Track reserves the right to keep any parts for further inspection, any illegal parts will be returned at the end of the current season SUPER STOCK RULES This division is open to any North American built car. No station wagons, convertibles or trucks. Newer non-metric cars may be subject to additional weight penalties in the fairness of competition. These are general guide lines to go by when building and racing a car, just because it doesn t say you can t, it doesn t mean you can. Please ask before you do. The word stock when used herein shall mean unaltered, as factory available and produced by O. E. M. for the make, model and year of the car being raced. That excludes all aftermarket "High Performance" parts, and all decisions and rulings shall be based on data obtained from the Canadian Service Data Book. SPECIFICATIONS APPEARANCE Cars must be presentable in appearance. Cars that are considered unsafe or improperly prepared will be rejected by the tech committee. BATTERY 12 volt batteries and charging systems only. No component can be supplied a voltage higher than charging system voltage. BELL HOUSING Must have an NHRA steel bell housing, Semi 6.1 flywheel shield or scatter shield of 1/4 steel. Must be mounted over the clutch and flywheel 360 degrees between the bell housing and the floor. Scatter shield is not permitted inside the car. Bell housing must have a 1/2 hole in it for turning of flywheel to whistle engines. BODY A) PLEASE NOTIFY SPEEDWAY FOR APPROVAL ON ALL BODY CHOICES THAT MAY BE BEYOND THE SPIRIT OF A SUPER STOCK DIVISION. ALL BODIES ARE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL. Body must be complete with all components. All chrome moldings, door handles, nameplates and lights must be removed. Aftermarket bodies such as 5-Star Monte Carlo panels may be used. Chassis must maintain original location points for all components such as suspension and drive train, regardless of body used. Body panels must be a minimum of 24gauge steel. Green house portion of bodies including, roof, A- pillars, B-pillars and C-pillars may be aftermarket and must be made of steel. Five Star fiberglass roof part # is permitted. Any other fiberglass roofs require written permission from Ptbo Speedway management. Hoods and Trunk Lids may be fiberglass. Trunk lid may also be aluminum. Door skins, lower portion of rear quarter panels and front fenders may be fabricated.

3 BODY CONTINUED Any Body that does not fit this rule (ex. fiberglass or aluminum), must be approved by Peterborough Speedway before competing. They will have a minimum roof height of 51 measured 10 back from the center of the windshield. A) GENERAL (continued) Doors can either be 24-gauge steel or aluminum. Rear 1/4 panels must be steel. Front fenders must be either 24-gauge steel or aluminum. Rocker panel/skirt may be aluminum, maximum 6 high in material. Original dimensions must be maintained. All Body panels must be complete in length and width. Over all workmanship will be a determining factor whether a car will be approved for competition. All doors must be welded, bolted or riveted shut. 20gauge steel is required between door skin and door bars on driver s side. Roof must maintain a minimum height of 50 as measured 10 inches back from edge of windshield. Bodies must meet Tech Inspectors visual approval. Only approved bodies will be allowed to compete. B) BUMPERS Bumpers must be mounted in stock position with no sharp edges exposed. Aftermarket nose and tail cones allowed. A fabricated bumper reinforcement may be run but stock bumper or aftermarket cover must be over top. C) GROUND CLEARANCE Minimum height of all body panels such as front bumper cover, rocker panels, side skirts, etc., will be 4 from the ground measured with driver in car. A 6 frame height rule with the driver out of the car. D) HOOD AND TRUNK Inner hood bracing may be removed. If hood hinges are used, 4 front hood pins are required. If hinges are not used, hood must have 6 pins. 4 front pins and 2 rear pins. Hoods must be steel or Fiberglass. Hoods may have a maximum of 3-inch raise, to accommodate air cleaner clearance. Inner trunk bracing may be removed. If hinged, trunk must have 2 pins. If not hinged, 4 pins are required. 2 front pins and 2 rear pins. Trunk lids may be steel, Fiberglass or aluminum. F) REAR SPOILER A maximum 5-inch rear spoiler with no bracing is allowed. Spoiler width may be no wider than rear deck lid of car. There may be no bends, lips or enclosures of any sort on upper portion of spoiler. Spoiler may not be adjustable. G) SCRUB RAILS Rub Rails will be allowed. Must be neat in appearance. H) WHEEL OPENINGS Original wheel openings may be trimmed conservatively for tire clearance. I) WINDOWS Stock windshield is allowed. Lexan replacement is recommended. Minimum thickness of Lexan shall not be less than 1/8 inch. Cars must have front windshields. Front windshield should have 2 internal braces constructed of material that is 1inch wide and 1/8inch thick, spaced 5 inches apart and centered in windshield. Rear window and side windows are optional. Top 5 inches of front windshield must be left available for Peterborough Speedway division sponsors. 3

4 4 BRAKES All four wheels must be working. Rotors and Calipers may be used from different models. Steel single piston calipers only. No brake lines allowed in the driver s compartment. Rear disc brakes allowed. Brake rotors must be a minimum of 3/4inch thick and made of magnetic steel. After market pedal assembly is allowed. Proportioning valves are allowed on a single master cylinder brake system only and in the driver s cockpit. Any car running rear drum brakes will receive a 50 lbs. weight break. No ABS or traction control systems. Dual Master cylinders with balance bar permitted. CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION A) ROLL CAGE & FRAME Main frame must be completely stock. Original Main Frame Rails must be maintained and must be complete perimeter style as originally produced. Frame Rails may be reinforced with 2 x 3 x tubing from front clip rearwards. All suspension mounting points must remain in their stock locations. Upper Control Arm mounts may be relocated. After market mounts may be used. Front cross member may have snout removed and plated for center link clearance. Cross member may be notched to achieve engine height. Outer frame area surrounding front spring may be cut away to achieve shock clearance or to easily adjust spring seats and spacers. Rear frame sections may have 2 x3 replacement tubing from the top of kick-up rearward. Tubing must be a minimum of.095 wall thickness and retain original appearance. Front and Rear sub frames, or uni-body frames, must be connected with 2x3 rectangular tubing with a minimum thickness of.095 inch. Main frame rails and/or front and rear clip sections may not be drilled or pierced or otherwise altered for the purpose of lightening. All cars are required to have a minimum 4point roll cage. Roll cage must be symmetrical in all directions. Off-set cage structures will not be allowed. All roll cage material must be a minimum of 1 3/4 tubing. Wall thickness of tubing can be no less than.095 inch thick. Minimum of 4 curved, horizontal door bars required on driver s side with a minimum of two vertical bars between each horizontal bar. X type Door bars will be allowed on passenger side. Dash bar required, along with an X type member across and behind driver. A so called Petty bar must be present to prevent right front corner of halo from collapsing in the event of a rollover. Left leg protection bar must be installed between roll cage and left front frame rail. A front engine bay hoop is allowed and may connect directly to main cage. Bracing running from top of cage towards the rear should extend beyond fuel cell area before attaching to rear frame rails. Roll cage must be professional looking and electrically welded and is subject to Tech Inspector s approval. Structural X ing will be permitted in the following areas of the chassis: Main frame rails may have X bracing under the floor in the center section of the car. Rear clip may have X bracing above or under the fuel cell area. Downward supports from main cage hoop to rear clip may have X bracing.

5 B) SHOCKS One shock per wheel. Shocks may be relocated with fabricated mounts. After-market racing shocks will be allowed. Coil over type assemblies are not allowed. Shocks must have a steel body. No adjustable shocks allowed with the exception of approved Koni listed below. No Bump Stops of any kind allowed, internal or external. Approved shocks are Afko 10 and 12 series, Pro WB series, Pro TA s, QA1 s and Koni numbers KON , KON , KON , KON , KON , KON Internals must be as available from the factory. C) SPRINGS Springs may be stock or after market with a minimum size of 4 outside diameter.spring rubbers are allowed. If chassis used comes original with Leaf Springs, Leaf springs must be maintained in stock location and utilized. Leaf springs must be stock length and stock pin location for make and model of car being run. Front and Rear Load Bolts are permitted. Multi-hole spring shackles will be permitted on leaf spring applications. No Coil Binding. D) SUSPENSIONS (general) No modification of stock suspension locating points will be allowed. The exception shall be: A) Upper control arm mounts, which may be moved, and may be aftermarket. B) Rear spring mounts which may be fabricated, but must be in factory location. C) Front and Rear shock mounts. Unless indicated otherwise, all suspension components must remain stock. Suspension components may be interchanged from different makes and models, but must be stock OEM equipment. E) SUSPENSIONS (front) Stock type steering box required. Aftermarket center links permitted. Steel Heim joint inner and outer tie rods allowed. Lower control arms must be stock and mounted in stock location. Lower control arms may be different lengths side to side to achieve desired camber. Measurement from center of lower ball joint to center of inner mounting point must have no more than a 1-inch variance from stock length in either direction. All lower control arm rubber bushings may be replaced with urethane or heavy plastic. Steel, aluminum, brass and mono-ball type bushings will not be allowed. Ford lower strut are allowed when used in a Ford chassis. Tubular upper control arms may be used. Control arm must be steel with the exception of the cross shaft which may be aluminum. Upper Control Arm mounting points may be altered and aftermarket mounts are permitted. Any ball joint may be used, bolt in or screw in. Cars utilizing strut type spring and shock assemblies may alter front strut towers to achieve allowable camber. Spindles must be steel and stock type OEM. Spindle pin must be solid. Howe part number 344GN and 344GNL are allowed. THINKPATH spindle is allowed. THINKPATH and Howe Spindle must pass the GO-NO GO JIG. Front hubs must be stock type OEM. Front hub and rotor assembly must be one piece and must be steel. Front hubs may be drilled to accept larger wheel studs. Rear hubs may be 2 piece, aftermarket, hub and rotor assemblies. Rotor must be steel. Wheel studs must be a minimum of 5/8. A one-piece sway bar must be mounted on bottom side of front clip and work off of the lower control arms. Sway Bar diameter may not be greater than 1 3/8 as measured with Vernier calipers. Howe style slapper sway bars permitted. Link kit lengths may vary side to side. 5

6 6 F) SUSPENSION (rear) Chevy rear end housings may be interchanged year to year. (e.g. 8 1/2 may be used to replace a 7 1/2 ) Welded or locked rear ends permitted. No Posi-Track / locker rear ends allowed. Ford 9 rear end housings may be used. Rear ends may have floating type bearing, hub and axle assemblies. Axle tubes must be steel. Gun-drilled axles are allowed. Mini spools are allowed. Full spools are allowed. Spools may be steel or aluminum. Ford 9 carrier (differential housing) must be steel. No cambered rear ends allowed. Rear wheels must be driven with solid flange drive plates. All running gear drainage plugs must be safety wired. NO TITANIUM PARTS ALLOWED. Rear trailing arms must be within 1 inch +/- of stock length. Rear trailing arms may be stock type, fabricated, aftermarket and adjustable. All control arm rubber bushings may be replaced with urethane or heavy plastic. Steel, aluminum, brass and mono-ball type bushings will not be allowed. Any Chevrolet cars utilizing a Ford 9 housing must use traditional. Chevy 4 link trailing arm system. Camaro s must use leaf springs. CLUTCH AND FLYWHEEL Stock type steel single disc clutch and flywheel. Clutch and pressure plate must be a minimum of 10 inches. Puck type or aluminum discs are not allowed. Flywheel must have a minimum weight of 14 pounds. Flywheel must not be drilled or machined in any way. Nodular or Steel Flywheels only. After-market clutch pedal is allowed. COOLING SYSTEM Aluminum radiators, water pumps and engine pulleys are allowed. Electric cooling fans are permitted. No electric water pumps DRIVE LINE Drive shafts must be stock, steel and painted white. ENGINE LOCATION Engine height will be a minimum of 12 inches measured from ground to center of crankshaft. Cross member may be altered to achieve crank height. Engine may not be moved left/right of original location. #1 spark plug of engine must be inline or ahead of upper ball joint.. EXHAUST SYSTEM 5.3 LS engine stock manifolds only. E-vac systems will not be permitted. Original cast iron exhaust manifolds only allowed. 2 ½ Ram horn or All-star manifolds are allowed. 1 5/8 primary tube with a max of a 3 collector mild Steel headers are permitted, no Tri-Y s, no iron lung, no home built, no stepped headers. Must bolt to head in stock location with no spacers. Headers may not be wrapped or coated. Exhaust pipes may be a maximum of 3 OD. Mufflers must be used. Exhaust must extend beyond driver compartment and may either exit out right side door or may be turned down towards race track and exit under car. Howe 2 into 1 mufflers permitted with a max of 18 long tailpipe. MUFFLERS ARE MANDATORY. FUEL Pump gas or track fuel only. The gasoline shall not be blended with alcohols, ethers or other oxygenates. And it shall not be blended with aniline or its derivatives, nitro compounds or nitrogen containing compounds. No NOS systems. No fuel line in driver's compartment.

7 FUEL SYSTEM A) FUEL CELL Fuel cells mandatory and must be approved by Technical Inspector. Fuel cell will be a maximum of 15 gallons. It is mandatory that the fuel cell be enclosed in a 20 gauge, welded steel box with a bolt on cover, constructed of 20gauge steel. Fuel cell must be secured with steel straps made of 1 x 1/8 or equivalent. Not less than two crosswise full 360 degrees. Fuel cell must be protected in back and on sides by.095, 1 ¾ O.D. tubing. Fuel cell must be centered between frame rails. Check valve vent is required on all fuel cells. No gas fillers allowed outside of body. Fuel cell must be separated from driver with an all steel firewall. Fuel cell height will be a minimum of 13 inches from the ground. Gas cap must have an appropriate attaching line to prevent its loss. Ground strap from tank to chassis is mandatory. Steel fuel lines must be used and neoprene can be used for connection purposes only. No copper lines. Metal fuel filters only. B) FUEL SHUT-OFF There must be a fuel shut off valve mounted in the main fuel line in working order and easily accessible by safety personal. It must be brightly and neatly marked "ON" and "OFF". IGNITION & CHARGING SYSTEM Charging system optional, OEM 12volt stock ignition, must consist of stock or stock replacement parts only. No aftermarket high performance ignition systems. No high-performance ignition modules or parts, or traction control devices allowed. No MSD boxes allowed. A MSD rev limiter is permitted part # MSD8728 Kill Switch Mandatory in main battery line or use of Ford solenoid is permitted, either system must be clearly marked and in reach for safety personal. INTERIOR All upholstery materials, trim, padding and flammable materials must be removed. Interior may be fabricated, but pedals must remain in stock location. Interior of car must be completely enclosed in respect to engine compartment, track surface, tires and rear fuel cell compartment. 20gauge steel is mandatory 18 inches high at foot firewall, 9 inches high along driver s seat and transmission tunnel and 18 inches high behind seat. Passenger side floor may drop back down to original height or maintain height of 9 to passenger door. All other interior panels may be built with a minimum of aluminum. Rear firewall may be fabricated. Rear firewall may start behind seat at base of roll cage and extend rearward to base of rear window opening. Rear firewall may not exceed height of rear deck. A full width dash is required in all cars. Vertical surface of dash must project in a single plane across car. Top horizontal plane of dash should carry forward to front firewall and enclose entire area beneath windshield. Original trunk floor and rear wheel arches may be removed. Only one stock type factory mirror is allowed. No outside mirrors. Roll bar padding is mandatory. PAINT AND LETTERING All cars must be neatly and brightly painted. Numbers must be assigned by the track. Numbers assigned by track must be painted or decaled on roof, (read from right side) on BOTH doors and 4" number on right front headlight cap, compulsory. NOTE: THIS WILL BE ENFORCED. Numbers must be minimum 18" high by 4" wide in a colour offering distinct contrast to the colour of the car. Numbers must be legible (subject to the approval of the track director) with no trick lettering. Cars damaged in competition will be expected to meet appearance standards the following week. 7

8 8 RADIOS 2-way radios are allowed. Frequencies must be submitted to the speedway upon registration. SAFETY A) HELMET & APPAREL Driver s fire suit is mandatory. Fireproof gloves with an SFI 3.3 rating are mandatory. Approved fire retardant driving suits include Nomex, Gragal, Simpson and Pyrotect. Driver and suit must maintain clean looking appearance. Fireproof gloves must have at least an SFI 3.3 rating. A balaclava, underwear, socks, and shoes are recommended. No nylon shoes allowed. A Snell 2010 SA or newer approved racing safety helmet and complete driver s racing suit must be worn in all practice and race events and until car is parked in pit area. B) BELTS AND HARNESS All cars must be equipped with a quick release type, 5-point harness with a minimum 3" lap belt and shoulder harness of 3", Crotch belt is mandatory. All ends of the seat belt must be fastened to the roll cage or frame with grade 5 quality bolts, no less than (1/2) inches in diameter. The harness will be approved if it meets size specification and is in good condition. Seat belts must be dated within the last 3 years and be in excellent condition. Hans ready belts with shoulder belts utilizing a 2 portion in the harness will also be accepted. Please see last page for installation tips. C) FIRE CONTROL Cars must have a 2 ½ lbs. fire extinguisher with either a steel or aluminum head mounted in a steel mounting bracket and must be bolted down, and within driver s reach with seat belts fastened. Fire extinguisher must be serviced and inspected each year and dated no earlier than January 1st of the current year. D) SEAT An aluminum racing seat must be used and must appear as close to stock position as possible, bolted to roll cage, not bolted to the floor. When mounting seat use minimum 3/8 grade 5 bolts with large washers to hold racing seat to seat framework. Minimum of two bolts on the seat back and two bolts on the seat bottom. Seat must be positioned completely to the left of the centerline of the car. An approved head restraint must be made of some energy absorbing material. Headrest side plates recommended. E) WINDOW NET Window net mandatory with minimum 3/8inch rod. Must have quick release latch. G) JACK STANDS All jack stands must be plated on the bottom. H) COMPETITORS UNDER THE AGE OF 16 Any driver under the age of 16 must utilize a Head and Neck restraint with an SFI 38.1 rating along with fireproof gloves and shoes having SFI 3.3 rating. In addition to this it is highly recommended that the best safety equipment available including seats be utilized. I) HEAD AND NECK RESTRAINT It is highly recommended that and SFI 38.1 Head and Neck restraint device by utilized.

9 TIRES All cars will be required to use track tire (American Racer AR 870). Tires will be available at track. Chemical treating of tires will not be allowed. TRANSMISSION 1. No Racing Automatics allowed. Power Glide transmissions will be allowed. No aftermarket valve bodies or manual valve bodies allowed. Torque converters must be stock. Must be a minimum of 11 diameter for 8 cylinder engines. After market shift kits and shifters allowed. Any manual, stock OEM, 3 or 4 speed, steel transmission allowed. All gears must be working in transmission being used. Maximum cubic inch displacement allowed: GM 350, Ford 351, and Chrysler 360. Maximum overbore allowed.060. Bore and Stroke must be factory spec (example:350 Chev-3.48 stroke x 4 inch bore). No stroked or de-stroked motors. No aluminum engine blocks. No modifications to engine block, cylinder head, crankshaft, camshaft or connecting rods unless specified. Block may be zero decked. No part of the piston can protrude above block deck. Sealed crate engine permitted part # , CAMSHAFT Hydraulic flat tappet cam only. No roller, solid lifter or mushroom cams allowed. Offset cam shaft key allowed. Must run stock size lifter bore for the engine being run, no sleeving. No belt drive systems permitted. Stock rocker arms only. No Roller Rockers. Hydraulic lifters must be operational

10 10 CARBURATION Factory stock carburetor only. Max. Single 4 bbl. must bolt to original factory intake. No adapters allowed. CHRYCO may use Quadra jet- carb. Fuel injected motors may be used if it is available in make/model and year of vehicle being run. Choke accessories may be removed. Adapter plates are not allowed. If Rochester carb is used, max. Bore diameter is 1-1 1/16 and max. boost venturi bore diameter is 1/8 Old style Holley #4412. Air to engine must enter through cowl area and air horn of carb. Solid throttle shaft (gas pedal linkage) must be. used. No cable types allowed. CRANKSHAFTS Crankshaft must be stock OEM only. No light-weight crank shafts. No aluminum or fluid dampers, OEM steel elastomer type balancers only. No knife edging or bull nosing CRATE MOTORS Sealed Crate Motor # GM will be allowed. All internal components of this engine package will be inspected in accordance to the specs outlined from GM. This motor (other than internal specs) will be subject to all other criteria as outlined in the Engines and Exhaust section. Crate Motor Option must run a 4412 Holley 2BBL carb as outlined in this section. Please contact speedway for information on all crate motors regarding required part number, allowable components, purchase of, sealing of, freshening of and availability. A crate motor has to be properly sealed by the party approved by Peterborough Speedway when purchased which will document that you are legal to compete. This does not make you exempt from any inspection that can be performed without breaking seals. Any inconsistencies found within any crate motor application will result in forfeit of all points earned to that point of the season. Forfeit of monies and points earned in the event. And disqualification for remainder of season. Crate motor violations will not be tolerated.

11 COMPRESSION RULE Compression limit 9.0:1 on tear down and 9.4:1 with the whistler. 11 CYLINDER HEADS Must be stock O.E.M. or World Product cylinder head part # , , casting part number is allowed for GM. Ford World Products # , Dart Iron Eagle 165cc cast iron straight plug only. No porting, polishing and/or relieving under the valves, No angle milling, No special lightened valves, No titanium valves, no angle head plugs, no heads with casting #202, no Chevy Bow Tie Heads. No vortec heads. Fords may use a Pontiac stamped steel rocker as a substitute Cylinder head must be stock for engine being used. No modifications to cylinder head allowed. Double Bump style heads are not allowed. 202 cylinder heads or Vortec V-8 heads are not permitted. Cylinder head may be changed from year to year provided they are not high performance. Maximum valve size - GM Int Exh Cleveland Int Exh Windsor Int. 184 Exh Dodge Int Exh Stainless steel or stock type valves are allowed. Valve stem diameter must be stock. No turning of valve stems permitted. Undercut and/or light weight valves are not permitted. Nitrated rocker arms are allowed. Must maintain stock ratio. Dodge may use adjustable rockers. Guide plates may be used. Screw in valve studs, are permitted. ENGINE MOUNTS Solid engine mounts are allowed. FUEL PUMP Mechanical pump only, no electric pumps unless fuel injected vehicle is being used. INTAKE MANIFOLD Original cast iron intake allowed. No porting or polishing permitted. No alterations. No high rise, Low profile intakes only. No acid flowed intakes allowed. Aluminum intakes permitted with 2bbl carb only. #2101 (Chev), #2176 (Chrysler), #2750 (Ford Cleveland), #2181 (Ford Windsor) Edelbrock performer current series intake permitted.
