1 The parts in your kit: 3 pieces of Mandrel-Bent Aluminized Tubing: 1 Straight 1 45 degree bend with straight section 1 curved section 4 pieces of silicone hose Unless you have AEM then you have 2 2.5, 1 3, and Nylon Hose splicer 1 Rubber grommet pack 8 Hose clamps (either T-Bolt or regular) Possible 1 Air Filter, 1 AEM Valve, 1 Additional Straight Pipe segment to allow connection of AEM valve You will still need: High temp ceramic engine pant from Dupli-Color, you can get this at any auto parts store. You may also need to pick up a 3 filter. The tools you will need: 8mm, 10mm, 12mm Sockets for removal of various parts of your car, hose clamps, etc. A decent ratchet to go with above sockets, and possibly a cordless drill with a socket adapter (I used this for the hose clamps saved lots of time) A floor jack, or your car jack whatever but you ll be jacking up the driver s side of the car and removing the tire so you ll need your lug wrench too. A Phillips and a flat screwdriver Soap, water, and clean towels YOUR PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN CLEANED YOU MUST DO THIS BEFORE PAINTING - Let s begin: Stock Air Cleaner Assembly Removal You ll need to remove all the plastic crap, I mean shrouding from the driver's side of your engine. I also chose to remove the cute cover over my engine and all the other plastic crap that they contracted Hot Wheels or Matchbox to design for them but that s up to you. You ll need a Phillips to take out the screw clips, and a 10mm or 12mm socket to remove the few bolts you ll find. If you want to remove the engine cover there are additional bolts under the H and two of the silver plates on the cover. You can figure out which two by the indention you ll see where you can put a screw driver to remove them. The stock intake goes like this:

2 TB Small Resonator MAF Sensor Stock Air Cleaner to Fender Well Large Resonator in Fender Well Snorkel Pipe ending just in front of the battery Basically you will be removing EVERYTHING from the TB on, except the MAF Sensor. 1) Place jack under the car, and jack it up enough to remove the front driver s side wheel (you will be doing a lot of work under your hood so it might not be a bad idea to put your car on a jack stand at this point, but that is up to you 2) Take off front driver side wheel 3) Undo the fender well cover up to mid-point of wheel arch, there is one bolt in there and several of the screw clip things. There are also 2 screw clip things under the front bumper, and one at the top of the wheel arch, this should be enough to pull it down and back out of the way 4) There's one 10mm nut on the front side of the resonator and one on the back side. Take them off 5) If you haven t already done so, remove the plastic shrouding over the driver s side of the engine bay 6) On the front side of the battery is where the intake snorkel ends up. There is one 12mm bolt holding it to the battery tray. Remove this, and then you should be able to take out the resonator box and intake hose all in one piece without harming any of the stock parts 7) Now loosen the hose clamps at the following locations (these are visible in the picture above)

3 a. TB b. MAF Sensor TB Side c. MAF Sensor Air Cleaner Side d. At the Air Cleaner box 8) Remove the rubber hose and small resonator connecting TB to MAF Sensor, as well as the crankcase breather hose 9) Remove rubber host connecting MAF to Air Cleaner box 10) Set the MAF aside where it will be safe, it looks like this 11) Remove the battery 12) Open the Air Cleaner box and remove the filter 13) Remove the three bolts holding the air cleaner

4 14) Remove bolt holding air cleaner snorkel to side of fuse box 15) Remove the snorkel leading into the fender well

5 Crate this all up and save it, should you ever need to put it back into your vehicle.

6 CAI Installation 1) Remove your battery if you haven t done so already. 2) Clean and paint your pipes. 3) Place one end of the 2.5 silicone coupler on the throttle body, and tighten with a hose clamp. 4) Place one of the 3 couplers on the throttle body side of the MAF sensor, and tighten with a hose clamp. Place the 3.5 coupler on the opposite side of the MAF sensor and tighten with a hose clamp. *NOTE For AEM Valve users Insert the smallest piece of pipe into the 3.5 silicone connector, then connect the AEM valve to the small pipe. Continue by putting the long straight pipe into the AEM valve. This is conceptual I did not try this, but this is how I designed it. Please take pictures and them to me on completion of your install. For AEM users your CAI would look like this TB 2.5 Silicone Connector Angle Pipe #1 3 Silicone Connector MAF Sensor 3.5 Silicone Connector Small Straight Pipe AEM Valve Long Straight Pipe 3 Silicone Connector Angle Pipe #2 Air Filter 5) Now everything is clean and painted, put your grommet through into the hole drilled in this piece and slide the nylon connecter through (it will be VERY tight). Now attach this piece between the throttle body and the MAF sensor (notice that the MAF has an arrow on it to show the air flow direction) and loosely tighten the hose clamps. The piece will look roughly like this.

7 6) Place the straight piece after the MAF sensor angled toward the hole that leads into the fender well, attach the remaining 3 silicone connector to the end of the straight piece near the fender opening. 7) Take this piece and place it through the opening into the fender well, then secure it with another hose clamp. 8) Attach your breather hose to the nylon connector. 9) If you did everything correctly it should look something like this. 10) Now when you look inside the front driver s side wheel well you should see about 2 inches of your freshly painted pipe inside. Attach air filter and tighten clamp

9 11) Make sure everything is tight; make sure you attached your breather hose to piece 2. Make sure your MAF sensor is facing the right direction. Replace your battery (don t forget the metal clip that holds it in like I did). Cross fingers, start car. It should sound a lot different when you rev the motor. Did it start? Does it sound better? 12) Put your tire back on, replace the plastic inside the fender well and clean up your tools. DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING. Looks good? Go for a test drive, and try revving it out should feel better response, and you should definitely hear it. Drive a few miles, go back home, TRIPLE CHECK ALL YOUR CONNECTIONS. Go drive some more, and make one more check. Once your satisfied, drop me an and let me know how it went 13) The finished product
