2 ABOUT US Oxford Filtration Ltd is a market leading manufacturer of simplex and duplex basket strainers and self clean filters and other fluid straining equipment. Founded in 0 our reputation is based on the innovation of our product design within the filtration industry. Our products are seen in many of the largest companies worldwide often serviced by a local representative. We operate from our manufacturing facility in Windsor in the U.K. (conveniently close to Heathrow) which has a full machining facility. We have a technical sales team in the UK at your disposal. We also have major international distributors in the U.S.A., Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Spain, Finland, Italy and South Africa who stock our products. In addition we have local representation in Mexico, Brazil, Canada, Norway and New Zealand. We stock most standard strainer products in cast iron, carbon and stainless steel and in most pipeline sizes with ANSI and DIN flanges and screwed BSP and NPT offered. We offer higher pressure designs to demand and also other materials which are often not routinely stocked such as bronze and hastelloy. Our design team can offer designs to customer bespoke requirements encompassing pressure vessel standards such as PD50, ASME 8 and EN3445. Our on site metallurgist deals routinely with all material queries on castings and fabrication work, and material and test certificates are naturally routinely available. Programmes are available on this site developed in house by our engineers to provide quick calculations of pressure drops on our strainers from basic process data. 3 SIMPLEX BASKET STRAINERS Application Oxford Filtration Model XS Series simplex strainers provide a simple costeffective way to separate particle impurities from fluid flow systems. Simplex models described in this brochure are designed for applications where temporary interruption of a batch process can be permitted for basket cleaning. Where continuous, uninterrupted flow is required, our duplex strainers or self cleaning filters described on pages 7 and 9 of this brochure should be used. All strainers are individually pressure tested. Available in cast iron, bronze, carbon and stainless steel and other materials to customer order. Pipeline sizes from 20mm (3/4 ) to 4mm (8 ) (ask for details of sizes above mm (8 ) ). Available flanged in all common drillings including PN6 and ANSI (ANSI300 and 600 on request) and screwed ports both BSP and NPT or socket weld. XS range with PN6 drilling up to 6 BarG* XS steel range with ANSI drilling up to 9BarG* (cast iron ANSI25 limited to 3.8 BarG*). Large filter basket areas and manufactured in st. steel % full flow. Extended area basket available. Various options including differential pressure indicator, magnets to remove ferrous particles, heating jackets. (*Note pressures quoted at C max. If flow needs to be continuous even when the basket needs cleaning use a Duplex Basket Strainer or a manual or automated Self Cleaning Filter. A Manual or Automated Self Clean Filter will enable the operator to clean the filter without actually touching the screen or the process liquid. If cleaning of the screen needs to be carried out without operator involvement use an automated Self Cleaning Filter. Higher pressure strainers available as required. Designs offered rated 600 and 900 lbs.

7 DUPLEX BASKET STRAINERS Application Duplex Basket Strainers are designed for applications where continuous flow must be maintained whilst cleaning filter baskets. The strainer uses integral 3 way stainless steel ball valves with PTFE seals. This design provides drop tight shutoff eliminating costly and potentially dangerous leakage into the chamber not in use which can occur in some other duplex strainer designs. This also eliminates some problems which can occur in particular suction conditions where in other designs air ingress could occur. All parts of the valve mechanism are accessible after removing the basket chamber without taking the strainer out of the pipeline. The handle covers the strainer chamber when in use and prevents accidental opening of the filter cover. Available in cast iron, bronze, carbon and stainless steel. Pipeline sizes from 20mm (3/4 ) to mm (8 ) (ask for details of sizes above mm). Available flanged in all common drillings including PN6 and ANSI (ANSI300 and 600 on request) and screwed ports both BSP and NPT or socket weld. XD range up to 3.8 Barg (pressure stated at C, lower pressure at higher temperatures, ask if unsure). Temperature limited by chosen seal. 9 SELFCLEAN FILTERS Benefits of SelfClean Filters Provides an efficient filtration solution for virtually any fluid with viscosity from a thick viscous resin and adhesive to water. Element cleaning without interrupting flow or losing system pressure or any fluid loss. Fully enclosed system with no operator contact with the fluid therefore ideal for hazardous or sensitive applications and also no chance of externally introduced contamination into the product. Cleaner and safer operating area. Manual or fully automated operation. 12 SELFCLEAN FILTERS The High Pressure Range The LPH Range The higher pressure range is dimensionally and functionally similar to the low pressure range up to and including the DN80 model but features a flanged closure. Maximum pressures are specified to order. The LPH selfclean filter is ideally suited to those applications where regular stirring of fluid is beneficial and very low product loss is essential. 13 WEDGE WIRE ELEMENTS Wedge Wire Screens To complement our range of self cleaners and basket filters, we can now supply slot tubes, cylinders, and specialist design wedge wire products, including Wedge Wire Screens. Wire profiles from 0.75 mm to 2.2 mm wide are available. Alloys available include; Uranus 52N, 45N, Monel 400, 36Ti, 36L, 304. Various end pieces, in either stainless or plastic can be provided. Applications include resin traps, nozzles and ystrainers elements. The slots are spirally wound, and can be varied along the length. Conical slot tubes, 57 to 37 diameter Designed specifically to allow higher flow rates in a number of various configurations. Higher surface areas by using filters inside filters, allowing more compact systems. Retrofitting into longer housings, allows the total length to be utilised, as the conical design has the effect of creating an even pressure along the length of the tube. If used in a backwash system, the even pressure allows better solids removal along the total length. A full combination of conicals and cylindrical slot tubes, and flow directions is available. Oxford Filtration can assist in designing a system to accommodate specific needs, including oval shaped slot tubes. Continuous cylinders; from 24 mm diameter up to 260 mm diameter: These cylinders have excellent roundness, the support bars are wrapped around the outside, allowing uninterrupted flow along the longitudinal slots. We have a large range of slot widths and diameters, if you have a specific requirement, individual toolings can be manufactured. Current range is from 0 micron, to 4 mm slot opening. Quantities from to,000+ can be supplied, our policy is to supply quality products at cost effective prices. Delivery times are dependant on if the products are from our standard or more specialist range. Custom products can be designed and supplied, and due to recent investment in manufacturing, our range is continually under review for different requirements. 3

14 TEMPORARY FILTERS Temporary Strainers Application Oxford Filtration manufacture temporary basket strainers in all ratings and pipe sizes for virtually all fluid duties. Temporary strainers are designed to provide inexpensive protection for pumps, meters, valves and other equipment during commissioning and start up. Design Materials available as standard are carbon and stainless steel but other special alloys on request. Standard stocked design to detail dimensions as below. 15 APPLICATIONS Further Product Applications Many applications are well established for simplex and duplex basket strainers on simple h and v duties but the following are examples of filtration solutions that fall outside these areas. Unique perforated filter screen enabling the self clean filter to be used in niche areas in the sugar and adhesives industries. Features tapered deep hole perforations and special wiper blades. High pressure simplex basked strainers designed for a 400 bar hydraulic water system. Used to protect servo valves on a forging press. Larger self clean filters used to provide filtration of a descaling solution on heat exchangers aboard HM Royal Navy nuclear submarines. Self clean filter used for the protection of flushed seals and heat exchangers in a pulp and paper mill in Portugal and Finland. Large fabricated self clean filters for HVAC duty in Middle East and Spain. Removing sand down to microns with no requirement to clean by conventional backwash but by wiper blades. Self clean fully automatic filtration of high temp resin and paints in Spain and Italy. Automation adapted to hostile high temp duty, special drives, valves and dp. Larger DN duplex basket strainers internally and externally lined with marine epoxy for ship board duty. 5
