Quantumfire QF cue Wireless Remote Firing System Thank you for purchasing the Quantumfire QF-24 firing system. This is by far the best amateur firing system on the market today. Quantumfire QF-24 firing systems are a versatile and economical answer to a vast array of consumer firing demands. Please familiarize yourself with these simple instructions prior to using your firing system. Specifications: Range (remote to field modules): 300 feet (+/-) depending on surroundings Field Module Power Source: 12 volt (2 internal 6V 3.2 AH rechargeable batteries ) Remote Transmitter Power Source: 2 x 9 volt requires (2) 9V batteries (not included) Transmitter Frequency: 315MHz Firing Capacity per Field Module: 3 standard igniters connected in series or 5 Falcon igniters when connected in parallel DO NOT EXCEED THE MAXIMUM CAPACITY OF THE FIELD MODULE OR DAMAGE MAY OCCUR. Field Module (receiver): 1 24 cue programmable RF Remote Transmitter: 1 17 button remote

Description: With the Quantumfire QF-24 you can now ignite your fireworks displays like the pros. When combined with our Falcon Igniters, you can put on a dramatic fireworks show just like the pros at a fraction of the cost! Plus, as an added benefit, now you get to watch your displays because you ll no longer be lighting fuses by hand, but instead be standing back with your guests, watching and enjoying the show. Plus, you ll appreciate the added safety of remote firing. This convenient system is stable and rugged and has many benefits of more expensive professional systems: The range is approximately 300 feet from the remote to the field module. The field module is powered by two internal 6V rechargeable batteries. Plus you can connect an external battery for added flexibility. The field module is programmable and may be reassigned to different QF-24 remotes. Use one QF-24 remote to control multiple QF-24 field modules. The system is capable of five firing methods arbitrary firing, firing in sequence, firing with internal times set equivalently, firing with internal times set arbitrarily, and firing all cues at once. Onboard timing sequencer allows time between cues to be set anywhere between 0.1 and 99.9 seconds. Firing system has a keyed safety. System will not power on unless they key is inserted into the key switch and turned to the right. All systems include a 17-button remote transmitter, detachable antennas, AC battery charger, and 24 cue field module. Low power expenditure and standby time of up to five hours. Using a remote firing system, like our Quantumfire QF-24 Series, is much safer than lighting by hand. Installing Batteries: Remote: Install two (2) 9V batteries in the remote by opening the battery compartment door on the back of the unit. Install the batteries inside of the compartment and replace the battery compartment door. Then turn on the remote by flipping the switch to the on position. The light on the front of the remote should shine brightly indicating proper function. If the light does not shine brightly then make sure the batteries have been installed correctly. Field Module: The field module contains two internal rechargeable batteries and needs no additional batteries installed. Make sure the field module is fully charged prior to use. Powering On Field Module: 1. Insert the key into the key switch and turn to the right. 2. Flip the power switch to the ON position. 3. The LED display will light up and read QUANTUMFIRE 24 CHANNEL CONTROL and then indicate the current voltage remaining in the batteries.

Connecting Igniters to Field Module: When connecting igniter wires to the field module, it does not matter which wire on the igniter goes into which terminal (red / black) on the field module. When connecting more than one igniter to any terminal on the module connect them in parallel. If you connect the igniters in series then the igniters may not fire. After connecting the igniters, flip the switch on the field module labeled Test / Fire to the Test position. When you have connected the wires of an igniter to a cue, the green light next to the cue will turn on indicating a proper connection (continuity). If the green light does not turn on then there is a short in the circuit or the circuit is broken. Please check your wire connections. If your wire connections are sound, then the igniter is bad and will not fire. Replace the igniter and try again. NEVER attach igniters to the module when the module is powered on. Accidental ignition of igniters could occur and could pose a serious safety risk. Note: Do not connect more igniters to a field module than it can effectively fire. Connecting more than the specified number of igniters will overload the module and some or none of the igniters on the module may fire. Programming Internal Sequencer Times: You can program the internal sequencer in the field module to automatically fire cues at predetermined time intervals. The remote is used to start the sequence and the field module does the rest without further user involvement. Programming all time intervals between cues to the same time delay 1. Power on the field module. 2. Press the Enter button to place the field module into programming mode. You should see ALL TIME IS SAME on the LED screen in addition to the current time setting that has been programmed. 3. To change the time interval setting press the buttons labeled +10, +1, and You may set the time to anything between 0.1 second and 99.9 seconds. 4. When you have set the time to the desired amount press the OK button to save the setting. 5. Now ALL cues are set to fire with the exact same time interval between them. 6. Press the ENTER button twice to exit the programming mode. Programming time intervals between cues to be arbitrary 1. Power on the field module. 2. Press the Enter button to place the field module into programming mode. You should see ALL TIME IS SAME on the LED screen in addition to the current time setting that has been programmed. 3. Press the Enter button a second time to display 01 TO 02 on the LED screen. The time interval that is currently stored for cue 01 to 02 will also be displayed.

4. To change the time interval setting between cue 01 and 02 press the buttons labeled +10, +1, and You may set the time to anything between 0.1 second and 99.9 seconds. 5. Press the OK button save the time interval. 6. To set the time intervals between subsequent cues press the NEXT button and follow the same procedure as in step 4 and 5. Use the NEXT and LAST buttons to move up and down between cue intervals. 7. Press the ENTER button to exit the programming mode. Firing Methods: Arbitrary Firing To fire cues in any order you desire: 5. When powered on the remote should read P000. To fire cue #1, on the remote press the numbers 001 and then press the Fire and OK buttons simultaneously. This will fire the first cue and you will see the red indicator light on the field module next to the cue light up indicating the cue has been fired. Next press the C button on the remote to ready the remote to fire the next cue. 6. To fire any of the remaining cues follow the same process as described in step 4. Firing in Sequence To fire the system sequentially, starting with cue #1 and finishing with cue #24: 5. When powered on the remote should read P000. On the remote press the Step button. The word Step should display on the LED screen of the remote. 6. On the remote press the Fire and OK buttons simultaneously to fire the first cue. This will fire the first cue and you will see the red indicator light on the field module next to the cue light up indicating the cue has been fired. 7. Now press the Fire and OK buttons simultaneously again to fire the second cue. Follow this procedure to fire all remaining cues in sequence. Firing in Timed Sequence To fire the system in timed sequence, regardless if the cue intervals are equivalent or arbitrary:

5. When powered on the remote should read P000. On the remote press the Cont button. The word Cont should display on the LED screen of the remote. 6. On the remote press the Fire and OK buttons simultaneously to start the sequence. This will start the internal time sequencer in the field module and fire all cues according to the time interval set between cues. No further input is needed from the user except to stop the sequence. 7. To stop the timed sequence press the STOP button on the remote and then press the Fire and OK button simultaneously. This will send the stop command to the sequencer and stop the sequence immediately. To restart the sequence from the beginning press the Cont button again and the press the Fire and OK buttons simultaneously. Firing All Cues at Once To fire all 24 cues at once: 5. When powered on the remote should read P000. On the remote press the ALL button. The word -ALL should display on the LED screen of the remote. 6. On the remote press the Fire and OK buttons simultaneously to send the fire command to the field module and fire all 24 cues at once. Assigning a field module to a different QF-24 remote control: To assign a field module to a different QF-24 remote: 1. Make sure the system and remote are powered on as described above and not in fire mode. 2. Press the Fire and OK buttons simultaneously on the remote and at the same time press the STUDY and ENTER buttons simultaneously on the field module. The STUDY and SIGNAL indicator lights on the field module will turn red which means the signals have been imported by the field module successfully. Important Notices: The following notices are rules that every user SHOULD ALWAYS OBSERVE. Failure to do so may increase the risk of serious injury or even death, as well as potentially resulting in serious and permanent damage to equipment and/or malfunctions of the firing system. When the firing system is in use maintain at least 10 feet between the electric equipment and any source of electromagnetic waves (cell phones, transmitters, power lines, etc). Clean the clamps and connectors frequently using brushes or compressed air to remove sand and dust, as these may cause contacts to malfunction. Avoid covering the firing system with aluminum foil, as this may cause short circuits between the igniter and lead wires. It may also interfere with the communication between the remote and the firing system. Never leave the firing system in the sun for extended periods of time. To avoid over-exposure to the sun, create shade for the firing system. Always position the firing system at least 15 feet from the mortars.

After connecting the igniters and before switching on the firing system (to fire or check the cues), always make sure all workers and spectators are away from the firing area. After connecting the igniters and before switching on the firing system (to fire or check the cues), always make sure that you are not positioned along the trajectory of the connected mortars. Never use or store the firing system upside down. Never change the mode or adjust the local programming on the firing system with the igniters connected to the firing cues. Always program the firing system before connecting igniters. Periodically check the batteries visually to ensure that they are in good condition. To avoid short circuits, insert the ends of the shooting wire or igniters far enough into the clamps so that there is no exposed bare copper wire. The manufacturer, and Quantum Fireworks, will accept no responsibility for damage or injury arising from improper use of equipment that in any way contravenes the instructions in this manual. SAFETY IS OUR MAIN PRIORITY: REMEMBER, SAFETY IS OUR PRIMARY CONCERN WHEN WORKING WITH FIREWORKS. REMOTE FIRING SYSTEMS CAN ADD AN ADDITIONAL LEVEL OF SAFETY TO IGNITING FIREWORKS, BUT THE RISKS OF ACCIDENTAL IGNITION STILL REMAIN EVEN WHEN REMOTE FIRING SYSTEMS ARE IN USE. PLEASE, MAKE SURE ALL FIELD MODULE POWER SWITCHES ARE IN THE OFF POSITION RIGHT UP UNTIL THE TIME YOUR DISPLAY IS ABOUT TO BEGIN. THIS NOT ONLY SAVES ON BATTERIES, BUT HELPS TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL IGNITION FROM AN INADVERTENT BUTTON PRESS. PLEASE REVIEW OUR COMMON SENSE SAFETY GUIDELINES LOCATED AT:
