The MAX9 circuit is optimized for a V to.v input range and delivers.v at A. The MAX9 circuit is optimized for a.9v to 0V input range and delivers.v at A. Quick Start The MAX9 EV kit is fully assembled and tested. Follow these steps to verify board operation. Do not turn on the power supply until all connections are completed. Required Equipment The following equipment is required before beginning: 0V, ADC power supply One voltmeter VOUT (MAX9) ) Connect a voltmeter to the VOUT pad. ) Connect a VDC to.vdc power supply to the VIN pad, with the voltage set to 0V. ) Connect the supply ground to the pad near VIN. ) Turn on the power supply and gradually increase the input voltage through the V to.v range. ) Verify that VOUT is.v throughout the V to.v input voltage range. VOUT (MAX9) ) Connect a voltmeter to the VOUT pad. ) Connect a.9vdc to 0VDC power supply to the VIN pad, with the voltage set to 0V. ) Connect the supply ground to the pad near VIN. ) Turn on the power supply and gradually increase the input voltage through the.9v to 0V range. ) Verify that VOUT is.v throughout the.9v to 0V input voltage range. Component Suppliers Detailed Description The MAX9 EV kit contains two step-down DC-DC converters. One of the circuits uses a MAX9, an - pin SO step-down controller. The other circuit uses a MAX9, a 0-pin µmax step-down controller. Both evaluation circuits are designed to achieve the lowest component cost. The MAX9 evaluation circuit has a V to.v input range. The output is configured for.v that can supply up to A. The MAX9 evaluation circuit has a higher input range of.9v to 0V. The output is configured for.v and can supply up to A. Both circuits have extra pads for additional input capacitors to reduce input ripple current. The switching frequencies for both the MAX9/ MAX9 are internally set at 00kHz. The circuits use a feedback voltage of 0.V and offer efficiencies up to 9%. Other Output Voltages The MAX9 EV kit comes preset to.v on VOUT, and.v on VOUT. To set other output voltages, refer to the MAX9/MAX9 data sheet for external component selection.
