3 NOTE: The front landing gears will be installed to the frame of the unit by LCI. INSTALLING THE REAR JACKS 1. Determine position and ground clearance requirements for the rear jacks. 2. Weld mounting brackets in position on frame. 3. Bolt rear jacks to mounting brackets using six bolts per jack. Torque the bolts to 90 ft/lbs. See Fig Connect wire harnesses to the rear jacks. Run them through the frame and up to the compartment where the Controller Module will be installed. See Fig. 2 NOTE: The motor heads can be rotated to fit around obstructions. Remove the two bolts (Fig. 1A) on either side of the motor head, rotate the head to the desired position, then replace the bolts and tighten. NOTE: When fully retracted, front and rear jacks must be installed to maintain inches of ground clearance. 3 Installing Rear Jacks/Sensor A Fig. 1 Jack bolted to mounting bracket and bracket welded to frame INSTALLING THE REAR SENSOR Fig. 2 Zip tie the harness up tight to the jack so it is not hanging free 1. Attach the rear sensor to the mounting plate with two self tapping screws. Install the rear sensor and mounting plate to the cross member on the frame behind the rear axle. Be sure that the rear sensor is oriented according to the arrows on the rear sensor box. Attach the rear sensor harness to the rear sensor and run the harness up to the front compartment where the control module will be installed. See Fig. 3. Rear Sensor installation orientation Fig. 3

4 4 Installing Control Module/Interface INSTALLING THE CONTROL MODULE AND INTERFACE 1. Install the control module centered side to side on the ceiling of the compartment and oriented according to the arrows on the box. The controller cannot be located in a compartment with the LP tanks, as the connections on the module are not spark proof. 2. Connect the wire harnesses to the front landing gears and attach them to the proper connectors on the control module. Connect the harnesses from the rear jacks to the proper connectors on the control module. See Fig. 4. Fig. 4 Control Module mounted and all harnesses installed 3. Install the interface (touchpad) in a compartment on the side of the unit that provides a view of the tow vehicle and hitch pin while operating the system. 4. Cut a hole in the side wall of the compartment, using the interface mounting bezel as a guide, in order to mount the bezel and run the harness through from the controller box to the interface. 5. Install the interface bezel. See Fig Connect the interface harness to the controller box and then run the harness through the hole into the compartment where the interface will be mounted. Plug the harness into the port on the back of the interface, and then snap the interface into the mounting bezel, bottom edge first. See Fig. 6. 5 PROGRAMMING THE SYSTEM 1. Verify that all connections are made and that all harnesses are connected to their respective connector. 2. Home Jacks A. The system will most likely be shipped in an ERROR state. Meaning that when it is powered up, it will be displaying an ERROR. If it is not, an ERROR will have to be introduced into the system. I. Induce an error A. Disconnect one of the hall effect sensors ( this can be done at the control module or at any of the jacks). 5 Programming the System B. Attempt to run the jack/jacks that are associated to that sensor. The touch pad will display an ERROR on that jack. C. Reconnect the hall effect sensor. B. Manually run all jacks down 5-6. C. Hold the retract button in until all of the jacks start to retract (roughly 3-5 seconds). D. All jacks will retract until they hit the hard current limit, this will HOME the jacks. If the jacks do not retract an ERROR should display on the touch screen. Most likely the ERROR will be a bad connection on one of the hall effect sensors. Investigate connections and make repairs as necessary. 3. ZERO leveling system. A. Manually run the jacks to level the unit. This is best achieved by placing a level in the center of the unit and leveling it both side to side and front to back. B. Once the unit is level, turn off the touch pad. C. With the touch pad off, press and release the FRONT button ten times and then press and release the REAR button 10 times. This will put the system in a ZERO calibrated state. D. Press the ENTER button. E. The system will SET this point as its LEVEL state. 4. The system is now programmed and ready to operate.
