2 0 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GENERAL PROCEDURES Wire color code Two-color wires are indicated by a two-letter symbol.the first indicates the base color of the wire, the second the color of the stripe. For example: W/R is a white wire with a red strip BR/Y is a brown wire with a yellow strip Symbol (Example) Solid color wire Striped wire Connector diagrams Connector diagrams show connectors on the harness side. The terminal indicates the view from the harness side. (Example) Connector on harness side Connector on harness side B Black W/R White (base color) View from harness side Red(stripe) Terminal End View Unused terminals are indicated by. Disconnecting Connectors When disconnecting connector, grasp the connectors, not the wires. NO GOOD D Locking Connector When locking connectors, listen for a click indicating they are securely locked. IDC Wire Tap Procedure Place IDC on vehicle wire. Close side of IDC. Insert remote start wire into IDC. Crimp IDC metal tab over both wires until flush with top of IDC. Close top of IDC Rev. E 2/10

3 0 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GENERAL PROCEDURES; continued Wire Tie Procedure 1.Wrap wire tie around the harnesses you wish to secure together. 2.Insert the Tapered End of the wire tie into the Wire Tie Head. 3.Pull the Tapered End through the Wire Tie Head until the wire tie is snug. 4.Trim wire tie end after tightening. Tapered End Wire Tie Head 1 VEHICLE PREPARATION! 1. Disconnect and Remove Battery a. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery terminal by loosening the 8mm bolt. (FIGURE A) CAUTION: FAILURE TO DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL BEFORE BEGINNING REMOTE EN- GINE START INSTALLATION MAY RESULT IN DAMAGE TO ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. NOTE: REMOVAL OF BATTERY IS ONLY NECESSARY FOR VEHICLES NOT EQUIPPED WITH FACTORY SECU- RITY. FIGURE A 10 mm Socket 8mm Socket 2. Remove the following components: a. Using a fiber stick, remove the driver s side scuff plate. The scuff plate is held by 3 clips. (FIGURE B) FIGURE B b. Remove the driver s side kick panel by removing the plastic nut. (FIGURE C) Partially peel back the rubber weatherstrip away from the kick panel. Insert a fiber stick between the body and kick panel to disengage the retaining clip. Gently pull the kick panel toward the passenger s side of the vehicle to remove. Plastic Nut Fig. 1-4 FIGURE C Rev. E 2/10

4 1 VEHICLE PREPARATION, continued c. Remove the three (3) phillips head screws from the lower steering column cover. (FIGURE D) d. Remove the lower steering column cover by inserting a fiber stick between the combination switch and the lower cover and gently rotate the fiber stick until the top and bottom covers separate. (FIGURE D) e. Remove the instrument cluster trim and the upper steering column cover by disengaging the (7) clips securing the trim around the instrument cluster, by pulling toward the rear of the vehicle and lifting upward on the upper steering column cover. (FIGURE E) FIGURE D Fiber Stick! CAUTION: The instrument cluster trim and upper steering column cover are connected and MUST be removed together. FIGURE E Step 1 Step 2 f. 5 REMOTE START CONTROL MODULE PREPARATION 1. The supplied fuses have already been installed into the remote start control module as shown below. (FIGURE G) 2. The DNA card has already been installed into the remote start control module as shown below. 3. Plug the supplied immobilizer interface 3-pin connector into the remote start DNA card. NOTE: Mating connector is located under the DNA case top. (FIGURE H) 4. Plug the supplied wire harness 10-pin and 24-pin connectors into the remote start control module. (FIGURE I) Make sure the connectors are seated completely. NOTE: The connectors will only plug into the remote start control module one way. Driver s A-Pillar Trim Removal/Installation a. Partially peel back the rubber weatherstrip away from the A-pillar trim. b. Pull the A-pillar trim, to disengage clips A and B. (FIGURE J) d. Remove the A-pillar and store in a safe location. B Clips A FIGURE J NOTE: In some instances, clip B may become unattached from the A-pillar trim. 6 3 DIPOLE ANTENNA MOUNTING, continued 2. Clean mounting spot with an alcohol pad prior to mounting. Mount the dipole antenna to the windshield 270 mm to the right of the center of the mirror base on the windshield, directly below the black windshield frit. (FIGURE L)! CAUTION: Mounting dipole antenna on black windshield frit will result in reduced operating range mm 3. Run the antenna wire above the headliner to the driver s A- pillar, using a fiber stick to secure under the headliner. (FIGURE L) FIGURE L 4. Route the antenna wire down the A-pillar, securing it to the existing wire harness with (4) supplied, short wire ties. (FIGURE M) Wire Ties! CAUTION: Do not secure antenna wire to the moonroof drain tube, if equipped, or to any airbag components. FIGURE M 5. Route the antenna wire behind the left side of the dashboard and over to the remote start control module. Plug the 2-pin antenna connector into the 2-pin port on the back of the remote start control module. (FIGURE N)! CAUTION: The antenna wire must be routed as close as possible to the factory harness to avoid any interference with the hood release lever. FIGURE N 2-pin 6. Re-install the driver s side A-pillar panel and re-install the rubber weatherstrip along the A-pillar Rev. E 2/10

7 4 REMOTE ENGINE START MODULE MOUNTING Tie Wraps REMOTE ENGINE START MODULE MOUNTING 1. Locate the large wire harness high up under the dashboard running near the vehicle dashwall, and the large harness running behind the steering column shaft. 2. Using (3) supplied, long wire ties, secure the remote start control module and harness to the existing factory wire harnesses. (FIGURE O) NOTE: THE CONTROL UNIT: EAT MAY NOT BE PRESENT IN SOME VEHICLE S. REFER TO THE APPROPRIATE DIAGRAM BELOW TO DETERMINE PROPER MOUNTING LOCATION. 8 5 GROUND CONNECTION 1. Locate the 10 mm factory bolt, mounted high up under the dash, to the left of the steering column (FIGURE P) Steering Column 2. Using a 10 mm ratchet, remove the 10 mm bolt. 3. Using the 10 mm bolt just removed, secure the remote start harness BLACK/ORANGE ground wire with ringlet and tighten with a 10 mm ratchet. Factory Ground Location FIGURE P 6 WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - STEERING COLUMN IGNITION SWITCH CONNECTOR 1. Route the remote start ignition harness with 6-pin male and female ignition connectors over the factory harness, along the left side of the steering column. (FIGURE Q) 2. With the telescoping steering wheel in the FULLY EXTENDED position, use (1) supplied short wire tie to secure the remote start harness to the exisiting factory harness. (FIGURE Q) NOTE: USE THE SQUARE AND CIRCLE DASH OPENINGS PICTURED BELOW AS REFERENCE POINTS FOR WIRE TIE PLACEMENT. (! CAUTION: FUNCTIONALITY OF THE TILT/TELESCOPING STEERING COLUMN MUST BE TESTED IN ALL POSITIONS AFTER WIRE TIE HAS BEEN TIGHTENED.) 9 6 WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - STEERING COLUMN 3. Locate the 6-pin WHITE ignition connector, on the left side of the steering column. (FIGURE R & S) 6-pin female 6-pin male 6-pin female FIGURE R 6-pin male Tilt Release Lever 4. Release the red secondary lock and disconnect the 6-pin WHITE ignition connector by pulling outward. (! CAUTION: DO NOT PULL ON WIRES TO DISCONNECT CONNECTOR.) 5. Plug the 6-pin male remote start harness connector into the factory ignition switch and engage the red secondary lock. (FIGURE R) 6. Plug the 6-pin female remote start harness connector into the 6-pin male factory ignition connector and engage the red secondary lock. (FIGURE R) Rev. E 2/10

10 6 WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - STEERING COLUMN, continued IMMOBILIZER INTERFACE CONNECTOR 1. With the steering wheel in the extended position, route the remote start Immobilizer Interface harness with 8-pin male and female connectors along the TOP of the existing factory harness located under the steering column. (FIGURE S) 2. Locate the 8-pin WHITE immobilizer connector, on the right side of the steering column. 3. Disconnect the 8-pin WHITE immobilizer connector from the PATS antenna ring by pressing down the release tab and pulling outward. (! CAUTION: DO NOT PULL ON WIRES TO DISCONNECT CONNECTOR.) 4. Plug the 8-pin female remote start Immobilizer Interface harness connector into the factory female PATS antenna ring connector. (FIGURE S) 5. Plug the 8-pin male remote start Immobilizer Interface harness connector into the 8-pin female factory harness connector. (FIGURE S) 6. Using (2) supplied, short wire ties, secure the remote start immobilizer harness to the existing factory harness located under the steering column. See Note below before tightening wire ties. (FIGURE S) NOTE: IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT THE WIRING IS SECURED ON TOP OF THE FACTORY HARNESS IN A MANNER THAT WILL ALLOW THE TILT AND TELE- SCOPIC STEERING WHEEL TO MOVE FREELY AND STILL ALLOW FOR REASSEM- BLY OF THE STEERING COLUMN SHROUD. CHECK FUNCTIONALITY OF THE TILT STEERING WHEEL PRIOR TO REASSEMBLY. FIGURE S 7. Locate the 2-pin female connector attached to the remote start harness and the 2-pin male connector attached to the Immobilizer Interface harness. Plug the 2-pin male connector from the Immobilizer Interface harness into the 2-pin female connector from the remote start harness. 11 7 WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ALTERNATOR (TACHOMETER) CONNECTION 1. Route the remote start VIOLET/WHITE wire with terminal up to the back of the instrument cluster area, secure to the factory harness with (1) supplied wire tie. (FIGURE U) 2. Wrap inner dash brace with (1) supplied foam pad to protect VIOLET/WHITE wire from sharp edges. (FIGURE U) 3. Locate and remove the 16-pin WHITE connector (C309-P), on the backside of the instrument cluster. (FIGURE V) 4. Partially lift the secondary lock on the bottom of the 16-pin connector. (FIGURE W) 5. Insert the VIOLET/WHITE wire (with terminal) into the connector cavity P. (FIGURE W and X) Foam Pad Wire Tie 6. Reinstall the secondary lock and insert the connector back into the instrument cluster. 7. Reinstall the instrument cluster and secure with the (3) phillips screws. 12 8 WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - BRAKE SWITCH BRAKE SWITCH CONNECTION 1. Locate the 4-pin WHITE brake switch connector (C128-D) at the top of the brake pedal. (FIGURE Y) 2. Using a razor knife carefully cut back 1-2 of the electrical tape to expose the wiring. (! CAUTION: BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE ANY OF THE WIRES.) Brake Switch 3. Using (1) supplied IDC wire tap, connect the wires listed below and crimp the IDC wire tap in place using pliers. Ensure that a complete and secure connection is made. Refer to FIGURE Y & Z for proper connector and pin location. Locate the 30-pin WHITE connector (C363-V) at the Body Control Module mounted in the left kick panel area. (FIGURE AA) 2. Using a razor knife carefully cut back 1-2 of the electrical tape to expose the wiring. (! CAUTION: BE EXTREMELY CARE- FUL NOT TO DAMAGE ANY OF THE WIRES.) 30 - Pin 3. Using (1) supplied IDC wire tap, connect the wires listed below and crimp the IDC wire tap in place using pliers. Ensure that a complete and secure connection is made. Refer to FIGURE AA & BB for proper connector and pin location. 13 9 WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - DRIVER S KICK PANEL, continued KEY-IN-SENSE CONNECTION 1. Locate the 30-pin WHITE connector (C363-U) at the Body Control Module mounted in the left kick panel area. (FIGURE CC) 2. Using a razor knife carefully cut back 1-2 of the electrical tape to expose the wiring. (! CAUTION: BE EXTREMELY CARE- FUL NOT TO DAMAGE ANY OF THE WIRES.) 30 - Pin 3. Using (1) supplied IDC wire tap, connect the wires listed below and crimp the IDC wire tap in place using pliers. Ensure that a complete and secure connection is made. Refer to FIGURE CC & DD for proper connector and pin location. PARKING LIGHT CONNECTION 1. Locate the 6-pin WHITE connector (C364-D) at the Body Control Module mounted in the left kick panel area. (FIGURE EE) 2. Using a razor knife carefully cut back 1-2 of the electrical tape to expose the wiring. (! CAUTION: BE EXTREMELY CARE- FUL NOT TO DAMAGE ANY OF THE WIRES.) 3. Using (1) supplied IDC wire tap, connect the wires listed below and crimp the IDC wire tap in place using pliers. Ensure that a complete and secure connection is made. Refer to FIGURE EE & FF for proper connector and pin location. 14 9 WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - DRIVER S KICK PANEL, continued DOOR TRIGGER CONNECTION 1. Locate and remove the 30-pin WHITE connector (C363-AA), at the Body Control Module in the left kick panel area. (FIGURE GG) 2. Partially remove the secondary lock on the bottom of the 30-pin connector Pin 3. Insert the BLACK/YELLOW wire (with terminal) into the connector cavity AA. (FIGURE HH) 4. Reinstall the secondary lock and insert the connector back into the Body Control Module. 15 9 WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS - DRIVER S KICK PANEL, continued HOOD SWITCH CONNECTION NOTE: Proceed with this connection only if the vehicle is equipped with factory security. If factory security is not present, skip this connection and proceed to Step Locate the 24-pin BLACK connector (C161-S) second from the top, at the Body Control Module mounted in the left kick panel area. (FIGURE II) 2. Using a razor knife carefully cut back 1-2 of the electrical tape to expose the wiring. (! CAUTION: BE EXTREMELYCAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE ANY OF THE WIRES.) 3. Using (1) supplied IDC wire tap, connect the wires listed below and crimp the IDC wire tap in place using pliers. Ensure that a complete and secure connection is made. Refer to FIGURE II & JJ for proper connector and pin location. Terminal End View FIGURE II FIGURE JJ VEHICLE S HOOD SWITCH WIRE REMOTE START HARNESS WIRE WHITE WHITE NOTE: Refer to Page 2 for IDC Wire Tap Procedure and Wire color code information. 10 HOOD SAFETY SWITCH MOUNTING NOTE: ONLY PERFORM THIS STEP FOR MODEL S NOT EQUIPPED WITH FACTORY SECURITY 1. From the inside of the vehicle locatate the clutch knock out. (FIGURE KK) 2. Drill a 3/8 hole in the center of the clutch knockout. 3. insert a Fish Tape through the hole and into the engine compartment. Clutch Knock-Out FIGURE KK Rev. E 2/10

16 10 HOOD SAFETY SWITCH MOUNTING, continued 4. Install the factory hood switch, part # C900-V7-629 and route the harness under the upper radiator support. 5. Connect the hood switch extension harness to the factory connector located on the hood switch. 6. Route the hood switch harness along the existing factory harness, secure with (3) supplied wire ties. (FIGURE LL) Wire Tie FIGURE LL 7. Continue to route the harness under the air box inlet opening. (FIGURE MM) NOTE: To aid in the routing of the hood switch harness, it is recommended that the (2) 8mm bolts securing the air inlet opening near the upper radiator support be removed. 8mm Bolts FIGURE MM 8. Secure the hood switch harness to the existing factory harness near the air filter housing with (1) supplied wire tie. (FIGURE NN) Wire Tie FIGURE NN 9. Secure the hood switch harness to the negative battery cable. (FIGURE OO) 10. Continue to route the hood switch harness under the battery tray. (FIGURE OO) FIGURE OO Rev. E 2/10

17 10 HOOD SAFETY SWITCH MOUNTING, continued 11. Attach the hood switch harness to the Fish Tape with electrical tape. (FIGURE PP) 12. From the inside of the vehicle, pull the Fish Tape and hood switch harness thought the hole in the clutch knock out. FIGURE PP 13. From the inside of the vehicle, slide (1) supplied grommet over the hood switch harness and insert into the hole drilled in the clutch knock out. 14. Using (2) supplied IDC wire taps, connect the wires listed below and crimp the IDC wire tap in place using pliers. Ensure that a complete and secure connection is made. VEHICLE S HOOD SWITCH WIRE REMOTE START HARNESS WIRE BLACK WHITE BLACK BLACK 11 WIRE HARNESS SECURING 1. Using (2) supplied, short wire ties, secure the brake wire to the vehicle s factory wire harness running above the steering column. (FIGURE QQ) Wire Ties Wire Ties OR FIGURE QQ Rev. E 2/10

18 12 EMERGENCY OVERRIDE/PROGRAMMING BUTTON MOUNTING 1. Locate the previously removed driver s side kick panel cover. 2. Drill a 9/32 hole at the top of the panel, exactly 30 mm down and 25 mm from the far edge. 3. Route the emergency override/programming button from the remote start harness down to the kickpanel. 4. Mount the emergency override/programming button in the drilled hole from behind and screw the mounting cap in place. (FIGURE RR) 13 RE-ASSEMBLY 1. Re-install the lower half of the steering wheel cover shroud, using the (3) phillips head screws. FIGURE RR NOTE: DISCARD THE LOCK WASHER FROM THE EMERGENCY OVERRIDE/PROGRAMMING BUTTON, IT IS NOT USED ON THIS MODEL.! CAUTION: Do not pierce the remote start wiring with the steering column cover halves or phillips head screws during reassembly. 2. Using (2) supplied, short wire ties, secure the remote start wire harness to the bottom half of the steering column cover. See notes below before tightening wire ties. (FIGURE TT & UU) FIGURE SS NOTE: WIRE TIES MUST BE POSITIONED IN A MANNER THAT ENSURES THAT THE WIRE TIE HEADS ARE NOT VISIBLE. Reinstall the instrument cluster trim and the upper steering column cover by engaging the (7) clips securing the trim around the instrument cluster, and by snapping the upper and lower steering column covers back together. (FIGURE VV) FIGURE VV Step 1 Step 2 2. Re-install the driver s side kick panel by engaging the retaining clip on the panel. Re-install the plastic nut and rubber weatherstrip on the kick panel. To reduce the risk of serious Injury or death, switch engine starter system into service mode and disconnect the vehicle battery before performing any service on the vehicle. Open the engine hood and locate the open area on the air inlet opening near the upper radiator support. (FIGURE ZZ) 2. Using an alcohol pad, clean the mounting surface thoroughly. WARNING: / AVERTISSEMENT 3. Remove the backing on the underhood sticker and mount in place. FIGURE ZZ SYSTEM POWER-UP 1. Verify that all connections are secure as per installation instructions. 2. Ensure amp Room fuse is properly installed in dash fuse panel. 3. Turn the ignition key to the RUN position. 4. Reconnect the negative battery terminal. 5. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. 16 TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING NOTE: THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE ONLY NECESSARY IF YOU NEED TO PROGRAM ADDITIONAL TRANSMITTERS. 1. Transmitter Programming NOTE: The transmitters shipped with the remote engine start system are pre-programmed to the DNA card and do not need to be reprogrammed. a. Turn the ignition key to the RUN position. b. Press and hold the programming button. After 10 seconds the horn will beep 3 times, indicating that the system is now in transmitter learn mode. c. Release the programming button. d. Press the START button once on each additional transmitter to be programmed. The horn will beep 1 time to indicate that the transmitter has been learned. NOTE: Up to a total of 8 transmitters can be programmed to the DNA card. e. Turn the ignition key to the off position Rev. E 2/10

21 17 IMMOBILIZER INTERFACE PROGRAMMING NOTE: TWO PROGRAMMED IGNITION KEYS ARE REQUIRED FOR THIS STEP, THE ENGINE HOOD AND DOORS MUST BE CLOSED (DOME LIGHT MUST BE OFF). 1. Transponder interface programming: a. Sitting in the driver seat, be prepared to press the brake pedal to shut down the remote start system. b. Using the first key, turn the ignition on, wait for the THEFT light to turn off, then turn the ignition off and remove key from the ignition switch. c. Using the second key within 5 seconds, turn the ignition on, wait for the THEFT light to turn off, then turn the ignition off and remove key from the ignition switch. d. Activate the remote start function by pressing the START button (2) times within 5 seconds. The system should flash the parking lights and chirp the horn one time, pause for four seconds and start the engine. If the engine fails to start and the THEFT light is flashing rapidly, see Troubleshooting Guide (Section 19). e. After the engine has started, press the brake pedal to shut down the engine. The Immobilizer interface is now programmed. f. Attach new Remote Engine Start transmitters to the keys Rev. E 2/10

22 18 FUNCTION TEST Car Find 1. Press and hold START button - Horn should beep six times and parking lights should flash six times. Remote Engine Start Functions 1. REMOTE ENGINE START - Make sure the valet key is removed from the ignition switch, all doors, hood and trunk are closed (dome light is off) and the vehicle ignition is off. Press the START button twice within 3 seconds. The parking lights should flash one time, the horn should beep once, then the vehicle should crank and start. Once started, the parking lights will turn on and stay on signifying the vehicle is running. Verify that the battery indicator light is not illuminated. 2. DOOR AJAR SWITCH - Open any door and enter the vehicle. The vehicle should shut off. Activate the remote engine start. The horn should beep (6) times signifying that the door is open and the vehicle will not start. 3. BRAKE PEDAL SAFETY - Close vehicle door and activate the remote engine start. After the vehicle has started, press the brake pedal. The vehicle should shut off. 4. KEY-IN-SENSE - Insert the ignition key into the ignition switch but keep in the OFF position. Activate the remote engine start. The vehicle should flash the parking lights once as if it is going to start, but then the horn should beep twice and the remote engine start does not attempt to start the vehicle since it senses the key in the ignition HOOD SAFETY SWITCH - Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch and open the engine hood and activate the remote engine start. The horn should beep (7) times signifying that hood safety switch is activated and the vehicle will not start. NOTE: IF ANY OF THE ABOVE FUNCTIONS DO NOT PERFORM AS DIRECTED, SEE TROUBLESHOOT- ING GUIDE (SECTION 19). FUNCTIONAL TESTING IS NOW COMPLETE Rev. E 2/10

23 19 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE NOTE: IN ORDER TO FULLY UNDERSTAND THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THE REMOTE START SYSTEM, IT IS ADVISABLE TO REVIEW THE OWNER S MANUAL BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH THE TROUBLESHOOTING PROCESS. 1. Horn honks 4 times & vehicle does not remote start - No tachometer connection. a. Ensure good connection and correct vehicle wire at instrument cluster (See Section 7). 2. Ignition turns on, then horn honks 2 times & vehicle does not remote start - Key-in-sense circuit activated. a. Remove ignition key from ignition cylinder. b. Ensure good connection and correct vehicle wire at BCM (See Section 9). 3. Horn honks 2 times & vehicle does not remote start - Safety input activated. a. Ensure brake pedal is not depressed. b. Ensure good connection and correct vehicle wire at Brake switch (See Section 8). 4. Horn honks 3 times & vehicle does not remote start - Service/Valet Mode engaged. a. Disengage Service/Valet Mode (Refer to page 5 in Owner s Manual). 5. Horn honks 6 times and vehicle does not remote start - Door or trunk is open. a. Ensure all doors are closed and dome light is off. b. Ensure steering wheel is locked. If not, turn ignition on & off and open & close the driver s door to reset the steering wheel lock. c. Ensure trunk lid is closed. 6. Horn honks 7 times and vehicle does not remote start - Hood is open. a. Ensure hood is closed and latched. b. Ensure good connection and correct vehicle wire for the hood switch at the BCM (See Section 9). 7. Ignition turns on, Theft indicator is flashing & vehicle does not remote start - Immobilizer Interface issue. a. Ensure 3-pin connector is engaged into the remote start DNA card properly (See Section 2). b. Ensure Immobilizer Interface harness is connected properly (See Section 6). c. Re-program immobilizer interface (See Section 17) Rev. E 2/10

24 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE, continued 8. Vehicle s Perimeter Alarm sounds during remote start operation. a. Ensure the Red/Black remote start wire is routed properly and is not cut or shorted on any vehicle components (See Section 9). b. 25 20 FINALIZING THE INSTALLATION 1. NOTE: After reassembling the vehicle parts, check for any dirt. Clean any dirty parts. 2. NOTE: After completing the installation, refer to the vehicle Owner s Manual for instructions on how to reset the clock and preset radio stations. 3.! CAUTION: Disconnecting the battery may cause the DSC indicator light to become inoperable. (The DSC OFF indicator light is illuminated.) Perform the following procedure to restore the DSC to an operable condition, if applicable: a. Start the vehicle with the key. b. Turn the steering wheel completely to the right and then completely to the left. c. Verify that the DSC OFF indicator light turns off. d. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and then turn it to the ON position again. e. Verify that the DSC OFF indicator light turns off. 4.! CAUTION: When the battery is disconnected, the windows will not fully open and close automatically. Perform the following procedure to the driver and passenger front windows to resume operation: a. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. b. Press down the window switch on the front passenger s side door panel and fully open the window. c. Pull up the window switch on the front passenger s side door panel and continue holding for approximately 3 seconds to fully close the window. d. Press down both front window switches on the driver s door panel and fully open the windows. e. Pull up both front window switches on the driver s door panel and continue holding for approximately 3 seconds to fully close the windows. f.
