GENERL CHRCTERISTICS This 24 Vdc control unit for swing gates offers high erformance and a wide range of adjustments: oening and closing decelerations, ossibility of managing one or two motors, management of oening and closing limitswitches, and the ossibility of managing two GTECODERS. sohisticated electronic control constantly monitors the ower circuit and disables the control unit in the event of malfunctions that could imair efficiency of the electronic clutch. The arameter settings and the oerating logics are set and shown on a handy dislay, which indicates gate status during normal oeration. Oerating times are adjusted by selflearning during rogramming. The watertight enclosure is designed to house the control unit, the toroidal transformer and any buffer batteries (otional) having the characteristics and dimensions indicated in the table below. 2. IP55 TTENTION: Different outut values can be obtained on the 24V~ voltage deending on the mains voltage value. efore startu, always check the transformer outut voltage. This must not exceed 26V~ for both 230V~ and 115V~ ower suly. Voltage must be measured load free, i.e. with the transformer owered and disconnected from the board. 3. PRELIMINRY SETTINGUP TTENTION: To ensure eole s safety, all warnings and instructions in booklet must be carefully observed. Incorrect installation or incorrect use of the roduct could cause serious harm to eole. Make sure there is an adequate differential switch ustream of the system as secified by current laws, and install an allole thermal breaker on the ower suly mains. To lay electric cables, use adequate rigid and/or flexible ies. lways searate the connection cables of low voltage accessories from the 115/230 V~ ower cables. To revent any interference whatever, use searate sheaths. Maximum length of ower cables between control unit and motors must not exceed 10 m, using cables of 2.5mm 2 diameter. Procedure for securing comonents inside the watertight enclosure. 1 Secure the suort for the toroidal transformer in osition with 3 Ø4.2x13 selftaing screws (sulied), lacing the sulied sacers between the transformer suort and the guides of the watertight enclosure. 2 Secure the transformer to the suort with 2 clams (sulied). 3 If using buffer batteries, secure the relevant suort in osition with 4 Ø3.5x9.5 selftaing screws (sulied), fastening the screws in the crossover holes of the enclosure guides. the suort is sized to house 2 batteries (not sulied) with the dimensions secified in the table in aragrah 2. 4 Position the batteries on the suort and secure them with lastic clams. 5 Secure the control unit in osition C with the 4 Ø4.2x13 selftaing screws (sulied), lacing the sulied C sacers between the control unit and the enclosure guides. 10 Fig. 1

2 4. CONNECTIONS ND OPERTION ENGLISH 4.1. TERMINL ORD CN Power suly 22V VCVC terminals. The secondary circuit of the 24V~ 50/60 Hz transformer should be connected to inut. Power sulied by the transformer is signalled by the lighting of the LIM LED located under the terminal board atteries T T terminals. Connect the ower cables of the buffer batteries (otional) to these terminals. The control unit is designed to oerate with two buffer batteries, with the minimum characteristics shown on the table in aragrah 2. During normal oeration, the unit kees the batteries charged and these start oerating if no ower is sulied to the transformer. Power sulied by batteries only should be considered an emergency situation. The number of ossible manoeuvres is linked to the quality of the batteries, the structure of the gate to be moved, the time elased since ower cut occurred, etc, etc. Observe the battery ower suly olarity ccessories 24V 24V terminals. The accessories ower cables should be connected to these terminals. The maximum load of the accessories must not exceed 500 m. The outut of these terminals is DC observe the ower suly olarity of the accessories Earth terminal. The control unit earthing cable should be connected to terminal. This connection is absolutely necessary to ensure a correctly oerating control unit TERMINL ORD CN Gearmotor 1 PM1 CHM1 terminals. For double leaf alications, connect to these terminals the gearmotor fitted on the leaf which must move first. For single leaf alications, the gearmotor must be connected to these terminals. The maximum load of the gearmotor must not exceed 70W Gearmotor 2 PM2 CHM2 terminals. For double leaf alications, connect to these terminals the gearmotor fitted on the leaf which must move last. For singleleaf alications, nothing should be connected to these terminals. The maximum load of the gearmotor must not exceed 70W Electric lock ELS ELS terminals. The electric lock, if any, with 12 Vdc/~ ower suly, should be connected to these terminals. To facilitate release of the electric lock, the overushing stroke can be inut by enabling arameter F (see aragrah 9). In doubleleaf alications, install the electric lock on the leaf where gearmotor 1 is installed Flashing lam / Courtesy light LMP LMP terminals. oth a flashing lam and a courtesy light can be connected to these terminals, both with 24 Vdc ower suly and maximum 15W. To make outut oerational, select arameter G, see aragrah 9. Flashing lam oeration: During normal oeration, the flashing lam rovides a fixed reflashing of 1.5 seconds during both oening and closing. When the gate is oen, and the closing safety devices are tried, the lam flashes to indicate that a manoeuvre is taking lace in the gate movement area. We advise you to connect the flashing lam before rogramming, because it indicates its hases. Use a fixed light flashing lam; flashing is controlled by the control unit. Courtesy light oeration: The courtesy light stays lighted for a fixed time of 90 seconds from the OPEN ulse, after which it goes OFF. Use a lam with 24 V ower suly and maximum 15W TERMINL ORD CN closing limitswitch COMF FCC1 terminals. Normally closed contact. This is tried and stos the closing motion of motor 1. The status of inut is signalled by LED FCC oening limitswitch COMF FC1 terminals. Normally closed contact. This is tried and stos the oening motion of motor 1. This is tried and stos the oening motion of motor 2. The status of inut is signalled by LED FC2. If no limitswitch is used, jumer connect the inuts. The limitswitches cannot be used as the start of the decelerated section encoder ENC1 terminal. The signal received from the encoder installed on gearmotor 1 must be connected to terminal. For oeration and activation of the encoder, see aragrah 6. If no encoder is used, do not, on any account, jumerconnect the inuts. 11

Normally oen contact. Connect, to these terminals, any ulse generator (e.g. ushbutton, key selector, etc.) which, by closing a contact, generates a gate total oening or closing ulse. The oeration of generator is defined by arameter D, see aragrah 9. total oening ulse always has riority over edestrian oening. To connect several ulse generators, connect the devices in arallel Pedestrian oening COM OPEN terminals. Normally oen contact. Connect, to these terminals, any ulse generator (e.g. ushbutton, key selector, etc..) which, by closing a contact, generates a gate artial oening or closing ulse. In double leaf alications, edestrian oening corresonds to total oening of leaf 1. In single leaf alications, edestrian oening corresonds to about 30% of memorystored total oening. total oening ulse always has riority over edestrian oening. To connect several ulse generators, connect the devices in arallel COM STOP terminals. Normally closed contact. Connect, to these terminals, any safety device (e.g. ressure switch, safety edge, etc.) which, by oening a contact, immediately stos the gate and disables all automatic functions. The status of inut is signalled by the STOP LED. The gate resumes its memorystored cycle only by means of another total or artial oening ulse. If no STOP devices are connected, jumer connect the inut. To connect several STOP commands, connect the devices in series Closing safety devices COM FSW CL terminals. Normally closed contact. Connect, to these terminals, any safety device (e.g. hotocell, safety edge, ressure switch etc..) which, by oening a contact, affects the gate's closing motion, reversing it to the mechanical sto, or to the oening limitswitch. The status of inut is signalled by LED FSWCL ing safety devices COM FSW OP terminals. Normally closed contact. Connect, to these terminals, any safety device (e.g. hotocell, safety edge, ressure switch etc..) which, by oening a contact, affects the gate's oening motion, causing it to sto immediately. When the safety device has been reset, the gate resumes its memorystored cycle. The status of inut is signalled by LED FSWOP. If no safety devices are connected, jumer connect the inuts. To connect several safety devices, connect the devices in series. 5. INSTLLING THE RDIO CONTROL RECEIVER ORD The control unit is designed to house a 5in radioreceiver module. Installation rocedure: turn off ower and fit the module in connector CN5 on the control unit. TTENTION: To avoid damaging the receiver and thus irrearably comromising its oeration, the receiver must be installed while observing the fitting direction secified in aragrah 13 (connection layout). This done, observe the radioreceiver instructions to store the radio control in the memory. 6. OPERTION WITH ENCODER OR MPEROMETRIC OPERTION The control unit has 4 DIP SWITCHES, which enable selection of either amerometric oeration or oeration with Encoder. Oeration with encoder rovides greater safety in detecting obstacles and greater reeatability of the deceleration oint. Oeration with encoder requires mechanical stos, or limitswitches, for both oening and closing. To select oeration with encoder, osition DIPSWITCHES 1 and 2 to ON and DIPSWITCHES 3 and 4 to OFF (Fig.02). To select amerometric oeration, osition DIPSWITCHES 1 and 2 to OFF and DIPSWITCHES 3 and 4 to ON (Fig.03). TTENTION: For a correct rogramming rocedure of the control unit, carry out oeration before rogramming the control unit because it radically modifies its oeration. If the limitswitches are not used, the relevant contacts must be jumer connected and LEDs FCC1 FC1 FCC2 FC2 must be lighted. If no STOP devices are connected, jumer connect the inut. The STOP LED must be lighted. 8. OPERTION OF DISPLY The control unit has a handy dislay for viewing and rogramming the oerating arameters. Furthermore, it constantly shows gate status during normal oeration. When oerating arameters are being dislayed and rogrammed, the dislay shows the selected arameter on the left, and its set value on the right. Fig. 04 shows the viewing examle of arameter at value 2. During normal oeration, the dislay shows gate status. DJUSTING THE OPERTING PRMETERS efore you begin adjusting the oerating arameters, select the tye of oeration for the control unit: with or without encoder (see aragrah 6). To access oerating arameter adjustment, follow the instructions below: 1 When you have made all the necessary connections, ower u the system and check if all the signalling LEDs are in the situation secified in aragrah 7. 2 The dislay shows value. 3 Press and hold down ushbutton P2 until the dislay shows the name and value of the first arameter. 4 Press ushbutton P1 to change the value of the arameter. 5 To move on to the next arameter, ress ushbutton P2. 6 When 60 seconds have elased without any key being touched, the control unit exits the adjustment mode. You can manually exit the adjustment mode by scrolling all the arameters with ushbutton P2. When the dislay shows value, you have returned to normal oeration. 13

This facilitates release of the electric lock. 6 10. PROGRMMING efore you begin rogramming, select the tye of oeration for the control unit: with or without encoder (see aragrah 6). During the rogramming rocedure, the control unit memorystores the oening, closing mechanical sto oints and any ause time before reclosure. 1 Release the gearmotors, locate the leaves at half oen oint, and relock the oerators. 2 Power u the control unit and check if value is shown on the dislay. 3 Press and hold down ushbutton P2 until the dislay shows the first arameter and relevant value. 4 Give an OPEN command with any device connected to inut: the dislay shows value, and the leaves begin to move. The first manoeuvre erformed by the leaves must be closing. If does not haen, sto the gate movement with a reset ulse. To do, make a bridge between the two RESET PINS, using the connector (see Fig.5). Cut ower and ut the connector back in its normal osition (Fig. 5). Then change over the wires of the motor/s, which had erformed the oening oeration. Resume the rogramming stage from oint 1. 5 When the closing mechanical sto oint is reached, the gearmotors ause for about 2 seconds, and then restart with a total oening manoeuvre u to the oening mechanical sto oint or u to the relevant limitswitch. 6 If automatic reclosure was not enabled, means rogramming has finished, otherwise the control unit begins counting ause time. 7 When the required time has elased, give another OPEN ulse, and the gate will begin to close. 8 When the closing sto has been reached, rogramming has terminated, and the dislay Fig. 5 shows value. The dislay shows value during the entire rogramming rocedure. The flashing lam stays lighted on a fixed light during the entire rogramming time. Leaf movement is decelerated during the rogramming rocedure. 11. OPERTION OF ELECTRONIC CLUTCH This is a very imortant device for reasons of safety. Its setting stays unchanged longterm, without wear. It is active during both closing and oening. When it oerates, it reverses gate movement without disabling automatic closing if activated. If the clutch oerates several consecutive times during the closing movement, the control unit goes into STOP status, disabling any automatic command. If the clutch oerates several consecutive times, means that the obstacle remains and it could be dangerous to erform any manoeuvre. To restore normal oeration, the user must give an OPEN / OPEN ulse. 12.
