2 DRIWISA PLIERS FOR HIGH VOLTAGE FUSES WITH WALL HOLDER OVERVIEW DRIWISA pliers are used to install and remove fuses from fuse holders. DRIWISA pliers for high voltage fuses are designed according to international standards (IEC), taking into consideration the minimum safety distances that provide protection against electricity and help avoid any injuries and burns. They are designed for indoor use and are not reccomended to be used with a voltage higher than 38 Kv. DRIWISA pliers should only be held from their back end (behind the protection ring). The user must always remove the fuse/fuses when the load break disconnector switch is open, avoiding contact with the live parts. The longest distance possible should be kept when applying the fastening clamps on the high voltage fuses. The use of DRIWISA pliers does NOT mean one can forget the other safety equipment such as an insulation mat, gloves, boots and helmet for high voltage use and the user must always remember to follow all the safety rules. between 30 and 90 mm and a maximum weight of 7 kg can be handled. Before using these pliers, the safety instructions should be carefully read. The rated voltage indicated on the pliers themselves, refer to the highest system voltage they can be used on. DRIWISA pliers complywith DIN VDE 0681 part 3 standards. By turning the handle, the fastening clamps of the pliers open or close. With DRIWISA pliers, fuses with a diameter F5-1

4 DRIWISA MOTOR DRIVES FOR NON-LOAD ISOLATORS AND LOAD-BREAK SWITCHES. OVERVIEW For non-load isolator switches', load break switches' and grounding switch atomization, DRIWISA has motor drive operators available, specially designed to operate DRIWISA switches. DRIWISA motor drive operators are available in two basic versions: one for installation at the input shaft of the switch (type DW and DW-763-4) with the possibility of controlling it manually through a lever by means of a hookstick. When ordering this type, please specify which version you want in the purchase order. The second version (type DW and DW-761-4) is sold separately and is installed in the inner face of the front panel of the switch cabinet, on a structural element or a beam of the cabinet's structure. It is then mechanically linked by means of a transmission rod with an articulated joint formed by a lever or tab and a yoke at each end. On top of the motor drive, a small gear box with a socket for inserting a manual crank(dw-764) allows manual or emergency operation. These are equipments of a strong construction and high reliability. Its mechanical dimensioning (nominal torque approximately 250 N-m), exceeds the usual torque requirements to control an equipment (around 120 N-m). This eases the resistance that could be shown when equipments have not been operated for a long time. The motor power is 99 W and it has a safety mechanism to avoid damage to the motor in case of mechanical malfunction and it is supplied with auxiliary contacts to send the signal to the contactor and it cuts the energy supply to the motor. All the elements are connected to identified and easily accessible terminal boards. Due to their simple design, it can be built with economical and commercially approachable elements. DRIWISA motor drive operators are perfectly lubricated in all moving parts and only require minimum maintenance. F12-1

8 DRIWISA MOTOR DRIVES FOR NON-LOAD ISOLATORS AND LOAD-BREAK SWITCHES. TORQUE - CURRENT GRAPHS All the motor drives have auxiliary contacts S1 and S2, each one moved by a cog and its function is to operate the microswitch (open and close) sending a signal to the control circuit (designed and installed for the client), and the of this control circuit is to supply and cut the power to the motor. The position of the cogs is adjustable to precisely calibrate the operation of the microswitches. Important note; When using motor drives in combination with non-load switches or grounding switches, you should take into consideration all the electrical and mechanical blocking systems, in order to avoid unwanted opening or closing in dangerous situations. The control circuit has to be connected to the motor drive through the terminal boards. CURRENT (A) F12-6

9 DRIWISA CLIP ASSEMBLIES FOR HIGH VOLTAGE CURRENT-LIMITING FUSES OVERVIEW DRIWISA manufactures clip assemblies for current-limiting fuses with cap diameters of 45mm which correspond to the specified diameter by international standards (IEC, DIN), other fuses with the same dimensions can be used. Clips for DRIWISA fuses are made of pure stamped electrolytic copper (99.9%), to provide the necessary mechanical strength and have a silver-plated-finish to assure an excellent contact with a reduced ohmic resistance. They have a tempered spring system that assures adequate pressure on the contact area, to achieve the minimum contact resistance and to supply the necessary mechanical firmness. The assembling base has two holes that allow its mounting on DRIWISA standoff insulators or on insulated supports and buses. The entire assembly has a terminal on one side, either to connect directly to a bus or a cable through a connector. This versatility allows clips to be used in different ways and be widely used. When a ready to use insulated fuse mounting base is required, it is recommended to use a fuse-holder the way described in Section B. It can be used in DRIWISA install fuses or as a spare part. switches or fuse holders to Selection guide shows the different options and available versions, as spare parts or as specific parts for certain applications. 11 SHUNT-TRIP COIL FOR DRIWISA SWITCHES WITH STORED-ENERGY DRIVES (QUICK-BREAK) OVERVIEW The shunt-trip coil is used in DRIWISA load-break switches with quick-break / quick-make mechanisms, since the opening function may be effectively controlled by electrical means, to meet several requirements both for control and protection schemes. The tripping coil consists of a solenoid with a moving plunger armature which is strongly attracted to the core by the resulting magnetic field when energized. The moving piece is linked to a rod and a lever which pulls the pawl release of the stored-energy spring mechanism of the quick-break mechanism, thus tripping and opening the switch. The DRIWISA tripping coil is designed for momentary operation with DC or AC supply, during the time required for the auxiliary tripping mechanism to release and trigger the previously loaded spring drive (max. 3 sec). The DRIWISA tripping coil can be installed in load break disconnector switches with or without a fuse holder. For installation in existing DRIWISA switches, it may be ordered by the corresponding catalog number according to the attached Selection Guide. The complete kit is supplied if properly ordered for field installation. The customers are required to install the part(s) by themselves. If the customer would like to install the switch in a horizontal position (using the frame as a reference with the arcing chamber on top) or inverted vertical (using the frame as a reference with the arcing chamber at the bottom) the customer has to let us know in the purchase order. This way we can add a device which makes it possible to be installed in the required position. This only applies to switches of 400 and 630 A. For more information regarding positions please see page D1-4. The applications of shunt-trip coils integrated into load-break switches are diverse, and can work with other protection devices such as: - Protection against low voltage (27) - Protection against phase fault (47) - Protection against phase inversion (47) - Protection against overloadings (51) - Protection against low power factor (55) - Protection against overvoltages (59) - Protection against overfrecuency or low frecuency (81) The numbers between parenthesis correspond to the ANSI designations for power systems devices. 13 SHUNT-TRIP COIL FOR DRIWISA SWITCHES WITH STORED-ENERGY DRIVES (QUICK-BREAK) OVERVIEW The capacitor trip unit is intended to store electric charge in a capacitor for later use in tripping a shunt-trip coil (see pages F20-1 and F20-2) when the control voltage supply has been cut or has failed. This way we are able to operate the shunt trip coil. The unit is designed to hold charge for at least 10 minutes after power supply cut and has been specially developed to deliver enough current for ONE single shot operation of shunt-tripping coils used on DRIWISA switches. It can be installed in any position because it has a frame with four holes to mount the unit. DC and AC main power supply versions are available. Output is VCD in either version, adequate for one single shot operation of the shunt-trip coil. The unit may operate in any position. F21-1

15 AUXILIARY CONTACTS FOR DRIWISA SWITCHES OVERVIEW A wide variety of applications for control and signalization in medium voltage switchgear and metal-enclosed distribution switchboards is obtained when DRIWISA load-break, nonload and grounding switches are equipped with auxiliary contacts. The design of the contact blocks, their modularity and easy installation facilitates not only factory-installed solutions, but even in field installation on existing switches to meet every need. Extending existing contact blocks when needed is easy and therefore maintenance and replacing is also simple. When selecting the switch, introduce the corresponding letter for auxiliary contacts in the code, according to the option containing the required contacts combination. When doing so, the switch will be shipped with the contacts already installed and calibrated. The auxiliary contact blocks are made of two contacts of each selected type. When more contacts of a certain type are required they must be ordered separately but using a code that identifies the type / position. When the switch is delivered, it will contain the basic block of two and the additional contacts already installed. The corresponding code numbers are described in the Selection Guide. Auxiliary contacts for DRIWISA switches are named S1, S2, S3, S4, S5 and S0, as described in the attached Selection Guide. The code letters used to specify the basic blocks are P, Q, R and S. Letter N implies no auxiliary contacts on the switch. All auxiliary contacts are 1P2T (changeover contacts) thus giving the designer the choice of using the normally open (NO) or the normally closed (NC), according to each specific need. In conclusion, the following alternatives are available for maximum flexibility: FACTORY-INSTALLED AUXILIARY CONTACTS: Use code letters P, Q, R or S in the AUXILIARY CONTACTS FIELD when filling the switch code, as described in the enclosed table and on the corresponding switch type Selection Guide. Two auxiliary contacts of each selected type S1...S5 will be installed. If more than two contacts are required for any or all types, order them separately using the corresponding part number (code) depending on the required type / position (S1, S2, S3 S4, or S5). The resulting combinations will be factoryinstalled and delivered in this way. ON-FIELD INSTALLATION OF AUXILIARY CONTACTS TO EXISTING SWITCHES: Order them by kits, using the corresponding part number (code). All kits are field-installable and include the required hardware. Each kit contains two auxiliary contacts of the corresponding type. ADDITIONAL CONTACTS OR SPARE PARTS FOR MAINTANACE: Order them by kits, using the corresponding part number (code). For field installation order according to the following selection guide. F22-1

21 DRIWISA DISC-TYPE MANUAL OPERATOR OVERVIEW DRIWISA disc-type operator is used to move DRIWISA grounding switches, non-load isolators and load-break disconnecting switches from outside the switchgear cabinets. The complete set consists of the following parts: - One rotating disc mechanism with lever and a base for fixation on the switchgear cabinet wall. - One operator rod to be inserted into the disc. - One set of two coupling yokes. The connection between the two yokes is performed through a ½" galvanized steel pipe, threaded at both ends, cut to the required length according to the cabinet design. The tube is not supplied in the set, because their length may vary. A nut is supplied for each yoke used to tighten the yoke. Once installed, the disc drive is operated through the operator rod, which is inserted in the hole on the disc. The rotational motion is transmitted to the disc lever, which is adjustable in steps of 25º around the axis. This lever is joined to a yoke installed on each end of the galvanized pipe, which transmits the movement to the switch operating lever, install on the shaft of the switch, thus allowing operation of the switch from outside of the cabinet. The corresponding Selection Guide describes the available versions, as well as optional accessories. The combination and adequate installation and adjustment of all parts, the right solutions for every specific case can be achieved, for right or left-side operated equipment. F23-1
