6 THERMALBLADE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION DETAIL 1 Adapter Molded Hard Plastic Clip adapter attaches the THERMALBLADE to the wiper arm. Various adapters are available to fit many different wiper arm styles. 2 Rubber Cover Boot Top cover layer of the wiper that is exposed to the elements. Made of durable high quality rubber compound. This boot has an aerodynamic spoiler which helps utilize wind velocity to reduce lift Metal Frame Attachment Interlocks the frame rib and the cover boot together and attaches to the wiper arm clip adapter. Made of high quality light weight metals for over all strength and performance. Plastic Rib frame Ribbed construction allows the wiper to bend and form to the curves of the windshield. The Rib Frame is also what holds the plastic slide rail for the squeegee. Made of high quality plastics for durability. Plastic Slide Rail Removeable & replaceable part of the wiper frame which holds the squeegee in place. No hinge construction allows the squeegee to sweep back and forth while wiping. Silicone Squeegee Made of a silicone compound for lengthened durability and a clear smooth wipe. The silicone compound extends the life of the wiper 23 times longer than rubber & produces active silicone coating action while rubbing against the windshield while wiping. Thermostat is installed inline along the wiring harness and is mounted under the wiper arm on the outside of the vehicle. Once the Thermostat detects temperatures below 38 degrees F or 4 degrees C the thermostat draws power from switched power source and activates the heating element. Heating element is encased in a silicone casing for added durability and extended life. this encased elemtn sits within the squeegee itself and is no more than 1/8 of an inch from the windsheilds surface during the wiping action. Wiring harness has 8 feet of 22 gauge black ground wire and 10 feet of 22 gauge red power wire. THE END OF AN ICE AGE! THERMALBLADE Heated Silicone Safety Blade is a year round blade. Equipped with a special heated element for safe winter driving, Designed for 12 volt system ONLY! (24 Volt System is availablae on special order) The wiring of the wipers is simple. Clean, Smooth Wipe! This could be done many ways the following steps are suggested. Exterior: 1. Attach wipers to the wiper arm (adapter instructions are included in Package) 2. Feed the ground wire and power wire from the wipers into the engine compartment by following the wiper arm to the wiper motor pivot point 3. Wire tie the wire on the underside of the wiper arm 4. Leave a little slack at the wiper pivot point. Engine Compartment: 5. Using wire ties layout your wires in the engine compartment. Train your wires to reach the auxillary power supply fuse panel. 6. Remove the lid of the fuse box 7. Find a Switched fuse that is only powered when the key is turned to the ON Position 8. Remove a fuse identified as a switched source of power Plug the fuse into the bottom port of a fuse block adapter as shown in the illustration. 9. Crimp the two power leads from the wiper into the fuse block adapter. 10. Plug in a 10 amp fuse to the top port of the fuse block adapter 11. Insert the fuse block adapter where your original fuse had been 12. Ground the wipers to a solid metal part of the vehicle. 13. Close the lid of the fuse box 14. Close the hood No additional steps are nessesary Enjoy clear visibility: When the thermostat drops below 38 Degrees F the wiper will activate automatically, this is your switch. Close the hood and wait for freezing conditions to watch the wiper free itself from ice and frost and eliminate ice and snow build up while driving.
