Installation Guide The GM firmware for DBALL is an all-in-one door lock and override module compatible with specific Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Pontiac, Saturn and Suzuki vehicles. This module can only be flashed and configured using XpressVIP at or using the Directechs Mobile application for smartphones. Refer to the Module Programming section on page 0 for more information. This wire needs to see a pulse after start for proper operation. [] If the RAP Off wire is not connected, the radio will turn OFF but some lights will remain ON in the central console for 0 minutes. Connect this wire (Green/Black, pin /) to the driver door sense trigger (Gray/Black) to avoid this issue. RAP Off: Refer to page 9 for wire color and location. With the exception of the OBDII Diagnostic connector, all connectors are displayed from the wire side (unless specified otherwise).

10 Module Programming Page 0 Refer to the LED Diagnostics section on pages -5 for more information and for troubleshooting purposes. Important Make all the required connections to the vehicle, as described in the wiring diagram(s) found in this guide, and double check to ensure everything is correct prior to moving onto the next step. Warning! To take advantage of advanced features, you must use XpressVIP.5 (and higher) or the Directechs Mobile app. Flashing a module using your computer:. Connect the interface module to your computer using the XKLoader.. Go to using Internet Explorer, and select the Flash Module button.. Follow the instructions to select your vehicle, installation type, and configure your options.. Once you have configured the firmware options, click on the FLASH button. Flashing a module using your smartphone or tablet. Connect the interface module to your XKLoader.. Launch the Directechs Mobile app on your smartphone or tablet.. Select FLASH YOUR MODULE and follow the on screen instructions. When the flashing operation is successful, you can proceed with the programming instructions below. DD Installation If required for your installation, connect the 0-pin, -pin and -pin harnesses to the module, then connect the -pin DD harness. th st DD 0-pin rd nd -pin -pin OR WW Installation If required for your installation, connect the 0-pin and -pin harnesses to the module, then connect the -pin harness to the module. st DD 0-pin rd nd -pin -pin Wait until the LED turns ON solid red. Note: To skip the transponder programming and use convenience features only, press the programming button 5 times. The LED will turn orange then proceed to step. Solid Turn the key to the ignition position. The LED turns ON green for seconds then shuts off. It may take up to minute. Key IN OFF IGN START & Solid x Secs & Off Turn vehicle ignition OFF once the module is successfully programmed. Key OUT OFF IGN START You have successfully completed the module programming sequence.

11 Module Reset Page A module reset will only erase programming performed in the previous steps. All settings (firmware) and settings flashed to the module using the web config tool will not be affected. OR DD Installation If required for your installation, connect the 0-pin, -pin & -pin harnesses to the module. Press and hold the programming button, then connect the -pin DD harness. WW Installation If required for your installation, connect the 0-pin & -pin harnesses to the module. The LED then turns ON solid red. & & Solid Release Solid Hard Reset Warning Against Executing a Hard Reset! A hard reset will revert the flashed firmware back to its default settings. Depending on the installation, some settings (such as RFTD and DD options) may have to be reconfigured. See the Feature & Option List section of this guide. OR DD Installation If required for your installation, connect the 0-pin, -pin & -pin harnesses to the module. Press and hold the programming button, then connect the -pin DD harness. WW Installation If required for your installation, connect the 0-pin & -pin harnesses to the module. 12 Feature & Option List Page It is recommended to configure all the features and options listed below using the configuration tool found on the module flashing page on The web offers more options; however, manual configuration of the features is possible using the information on this page. * Default Option ** The Heated Seat function will only work if this feature is listed in the VAG (Vehicle Application Guide), on page. *** The Cadlliac CTS, Chevrolet Impala/Impala Limited and Buick Lucerne requires the Electric Rear Hatch option for the trunk to work. Features Operation / Option Descriptions Trunk *** AUX RF Output Type Unlock Driver Priority. No RF Output* Module is connected to a remote starter using a standard installation.. RFTD Output Module is connected to an XL0 using an RSR or RXT installation (when available).. Smart Start Module is connected to SmartStart using an RSR or RXT installation (when available).. Drivier Priority* Unlocks only the driver door on first press and unlocks all doors on a second press within 5 seconds.. All Unlocks all doors on first press.. Trunk*. Will pop the trunk if available.. Tail Glass Opening / Electric Rear Hatch. Trunk/Tail Glass: Will pop the trunk or if not available, will pop the tail glass. Electric Rear Hatch: When available, will operate the rear hatch.. Trunk*. Will pop the trunk if available.. Tail Glass Opening / Electric Rear Hatch. Enabled When the feature is enabled, it will activate the Heated Seats and heated steering wheel. 6 7 Heated Seats/Defroster Temperature Control ** Heated Seats Temperature Level **. F (0 C)* When the Heated Seats feature is enabled, it will activate the heated seats upon remote start when temperature is below F (0 C).. F (-5 C) When the Heated Seats feature is enabled, it will activate the heated seats upon remote start when temperature is below F (-5 C).. F (5 C) When the Heated Seats feature is enabled, it will activate the heated seats upon remote start when temperature is below F (5 C).. Always On When the Heated Seats feature is enabled, it will activate the heated seats at any temperature.. High* When Heated Seats are activated, they will be set to HIGH.. Medium When Heated Seats are activated, they will be set to MEDIUM.. Low When Heated Seats are activated, they will be set to LOW.

13 Feature Programming To enter feature programming routine - Turn the ignition ON, then OFF. - Within 5 seconds, press and HOLD the programming button until the LED turns ON orange (after seconds). Release the Programming button. - The LED will flash green once slowly to indicate the feature number is. After a short delay, the LED flashes red rapidly to indicate the current option of feature (i.e. x green followed by x red indicates feature is set to option ). The flashing sequence will repeat until a new command is entered. Changing feature options - Press the lock/arm or unlock/disarm button on aftermarket transmitter to change the option of the selected feature. - The LED flashes red rapidly the number of times equal to the current option number. After a short delay, the LED flashes green slowly the number of times to indicate the current feature. The flashing sequence will repeat until a new command is entered. Accessing another feature - Press and release the programming button a number of times to advance from the current feature to the next desired feature. - The LED flashes green slowly the number of times equal to the feature number. After a short delay, the LED flashes red rapidly to indicate the current option of the current feature. The flashing sequence will repeat until a new command is entered. When the maximum number of features or options is reached, the LED will start flashing again from the first feature or option. Once a feature is programmed - Other features can be programmed. - The feature programming can be exited. Programming Button Exiting feature programming - No activity for 0 seconds; after 0 seconds, the LED will turn ON orange for seconds to confirm the end of the programming sequence. OR - Press and HOLD the programming button for seconds. After seconds, the LED will turn ON orange for seconds to confirm the end of the programming sequence. Page

14 LED Diagnostics & Troubleshooting Page LED Description Troubleshooting Module Programming Off Module has no power. Make sure the DD harness is connected or that the Volt is present between the red and black wires. If the Volt is present, the module may be defective. Solid red Waiting to begin the programming sequence. Ensure the correct programming procedure is being followed. & green Solid orange green Initialization failed. Transponder functions were skipped. All required CAN networks has been detected. Reset the module and complete the programming again. If the issue persists, please contact Technical Support. (If compatible) when RXT mode is not desired or convenience features are needed, please reset and reprogram the module. Normal operation. orange orange slowly Solid green x secs of CAN networks has been detected. Normal operation KeyGO initiated. Module was successfully programmed with all functions. Normal operation Please follow the steps indicated in Module programming to complete the KeyGO programming. Solid orange Module was successfully programmed without x secs transponder functions. Module Programming - Error Codes x x x x CAN not detected. J850 not detected. CAN not detected. Bypass data not detected. Normal operation. Check the CAN Orange/Green and Orange/Brown wire connections. Wake up the data bus by turning the ignition on and try again. If your installation does not require this connection, skip this step by pressing the programming button 5 times. Check the J850 wire connection. Wake up the data bus by turning the ignition on and try again. Check the CAN Tan and Tan/Black wire connections. Wake up the data bus by turning the ignition on and try again. If your installation does not require this connection, skip this step by pressing the programming button 5 times. Check the bypass line connection. If more than one wire is used, make sure they are not inverted. Ensure the vehicle still operates correctly using the factory key. x x 5 x 6 x 7 Bypass processing error. ISO not detected. ISO not detected. MUX not detected. The bypass calculation failed. Reset the module and try again. If the condition persists, please contact Technical Support. The Yellow/Black wire did not detect the expected signal. Refer to "Installation (wiring diagrams & vehicle wiring reference charts)" to check the connections. The Orange/Black wire did not detect the expected signal. Refer to "Installation (wiring diagrams & vehicle wiring reference charts)" to check the connections. The Violet/Green or Violet/Brown wire did not detect the expected voltage value. Refer to "Installation (wiring diagrams & vehicle wiring reference charts)" to check the connections.
