The HC Series roll from Continental Conveyor is produced using proprietary manufacturing techniques. State-of-the-art assembly methods allow Continental to adjust the bearing endplay setting to precise engineered specifications. These proprietary methods provide absolute consistency roll-to-roll. In addition, the 3/4 tapered roller bearing provides twice the L10 life of ball bearings. The advanced five-stage seal design ensures long-life operation without relubrication. Now you can move up to the durability of tapered roller bearing, idler roll technology without sacrificing your budget. HC idlers are available from stock at authorized Continental distributors and factory warehouses. With the new HC you will never have to settle for CEMA C ball bearing rolls again. MODIFIED GEOMETRY TAPERED ROLLER BEARING Automotive class line contact tapered roller bearings provide more bearing contact area than ball bearings, spreading the load over a larger area. This relieves stress and enhances bearing life under heavy loads and impact. FIVE-STAGE SEAL DESIGN 1. An exterior shield provides an initial barrier to divert contaminants away from the bearing cavity. 2. A flinger employs the natural centrifugal forces of a rotating idler roll to redirect potential contaminates away from the bearing cavity. 3. A grease-filled horizontal labyrinth seal retards lateral movement of contaminates. 4. A contact lip seal provides additional sealing protection and keeps lubricant in the bearing cavity. 5. A rear seal provides added protection for the grease reservoir.
