1 C BOP The Cameron C BOP was designed as an emergency safety head for snubbing coiled tubing workover applications. The main function of the C BOP is to shear whatever is in the hole - from braided cable to perforating guns - and forms a safe, pressure-tight seal. Features of the C BOP include: C BOPs are compact Visual position indicators clearly show the lock and unlock status, as well as the ram position DSI Shear Rams shear and seal wireline, braided cable, perforating guns, gravel pack screen assemblies, etc. Bonnet contains an auxiliary connecting rod seal for back up in emergency situations. BOP can be installed in different orientations through the use of duplicate plumbing ports Ram changeout is simple because of the elongated top bonnet stud Provides maximum shearing capacity to ensure reliable shearing and sealing with a maximum closing pressure of 800 psi achieved with a 15 diameter operating piston coupled with DSI Shearing Rams Rams are mounted on removable buttons that may be easily changed out if required Close and Lock functions are independent, allowing shearing without automatically locking - optional sequence valve is available Rams are automatically unlocked prior to opening through the use of a sequence valve High temperature seals are standard Optional pressure balance chambers are available for subsea use 1 flanges are available to accommodate increased bending moments TC Cooper Cameron, Cameron Division

8 C BOP Dual String Interlocking (DSI) Rams DSI rams were developed to shear multiple tubing strings regardless of their orientation to the centerline of the ram bore. They are spring-loaded and interlocked to prevent vertical separation between the upper and lower blades. This feature also provides the capability to maintain a seal and shear wireline and braided cable with zero tension in the line. The efficient shear blade geometry on both upper and lower rams reduces the required shearing force. The tool steel inlayed cutting edges include a secondary cutting edge, which cuts and wipes away cable strands or shrapnel, which may have survived the initial shear edges. Clearance below the shear blade is maximized to allow the fish to collect when shearing large assemblies.
