Precautions for Operation (Characteristic, Caution) 3. 1 Characteristic of products INDUCTION SPEED CONTROL MOTOR Standard AC small speed control model, can use by continuously REVERSIBLE SPEED CONTROL MOTOR Outlook is almost same as induction motor but there is brake block to change the rotation simply. Suitable for using reverse the rotation often. There is no reversible motor for V12 (Unit Type) ELECTRO MAGNETIC BRAKE TYPE SPEED CONTROL MOTOR The motor installed non-excitation operating electromagnetic Brake Braking operates properly so can have holding power Suitable for using as safety brake because braking operates when power is breakdown Electro magnetic brake motor over runs 1~4 rotations on no-load when it operates motor itself Be able to change of rotating intermittently. Possible to stop 6 times per min. (But needs to maintain Min.3 sec. Per stopping) 3. 2 Precaution of installation Do not use in near explosive material, inflammable gas, corrosive material and water. Do not force to bend nor push-pull of lead wire. The protection of electric shock sets up based on machinery structure of class I. Install the encloser to do not be touched by hands. Install the protection earth with using protection earth terminal. Be installed by an expert Precaution of running The surface of motor temperature can be over 70 C. Attached the sign of sticker at visual place in case of possibility of approaching the motor. Turn off the power incase of checking the motor which has installed TP (Thermal Protector). TP installed motor runs automatically after down to fixed temperature. Electro brake does not hold the load surely. Nor it does not hold when TP operates. Extra safety countermeasure needs for using safety brake 4. Duty of Motor Sign for caution REVERSIBLE AND BRAKE MOTOR Recommendation time for reversible motor is continuous 30 minutes Condition of Installation Install the motor and capacitor in place with below condition. It can get damage if the product were used in out of the condition. Inner house (The products designed for attaching on machines) Temperature -10C ~ +40C degrees (No place for freeze) Humidity under 85% (No place for condensation) The place, do not effect from explosive, inflammable and corrosive gas The place, do not get continuous vibration or excessive impact The place with no straight light The place with no splash water nor oil The place with no heaping dusty Elevation under 1,000m 5. 2 Installation of motor Installation changes by the type of output shaft Helical (Gear screw) shaft type MOUNTING PLATE GEAR HEAD The place can be radiated SCREWS THAT PROVIDED WITH GEAR HEAD(BOLT) SPRING WASHER Make holes in mounting plate and use bolts, provided with gearbox to fix a motor and gear head on the mounting plate also, be sure there is FLAT WASHER no gab between motor flange, gear head surface and the mounting surface. Refer to Gearbox manual for your detail information INDUCTION MOTOR Must use same gear screw type Induction motor is able to running continuously Caution of shaft for using gearboxes NUT 5. 1 Condition of Installation MOTOR

Recommended Torque for screw-in AIR FLOW(IN) AIR FLOW(OUT) 5. 3 Install capacitor (single phase motor) Caution) GENERAL TYPE OF GEAR HEAD GEAR HEAD SHAFT O-RING LEAD WIRE MOTOR 4.5 Before install the capacitor, confirm the capacity is same as in name plate of motor. Use M4 screw for installing capacitor (The screw is not provided) Screw-in torque for installing capacitor is Max. 1N-m(10Kg/cm) Distance from motor is Min.10cm. If not, capacitor life can be shorter Assembling Motor with O-Ring OUTPUT SHAFT FLANGE HEAD GEAR HEAD SHAFT O-RING LEAD WIRE MOTOR OUTPUT SHAFT ASSEMBLY 1. Place motor to output shaft directs to up. Choose direction of gear head with considering direction of out-coming lead wire. 2. Needs to be careful between motor shaft and gear trails of inside gearbox during mounting. Turning right and left slightly to do not crush hardly and make easy of assembling. 3. Use the provided mounting screws for assembling of gear head & motor. 4. There is O-ring insulted on motor front side so showing the gab between motor and gear head is normal phenomenon. 21

Use over value of AWG #18(0.75mm 2 )when you earth general motors. 'A' In case of general motors, Earth wire is not provided. If you need Earth, please buy a separate Earth Wire. 6. Connection and the way of running 6. 1 Connection Insulation of connecting part. Connect the lead wire of motor as following diagrams. The parts of connector such as lead wire power connector and capacitor terminal connector need to be insulated. The accidents can be occurred by electric shock and sudden motor operating Schematic Diagrams The direction of rotation are from view of motor output shaft. Clock wise is C.W, and Counter Clock Wise is C.C.W. 23

5 24 The diagrams in below are basic wiring. Please refer to the manual that provides with controller incase wires with controller. INDUCTION, REVERSIBLE MOTOR Caution) The motor TP installed type is same MOTOR FOR EULOPEAN VOLTAGE (TP INSTALLED) Caution) The motor TP installed type is same SINGLE PHASE ELECTRO BRAKE MOTOR Reference) (Min. 1/4) (AC125WV : 110 or AC250WV : 220) * Cap.? - Initial of Capacitor or Condenser Caution) motors are insulation Class 'E' grade. Check the temperature on motor housing to do not excess 90 C during it runs. The motor life gets shorter if motor runs at over 90 C by the heating effects to coils and ball bearings. Be able to check the temperature on motor housing by fixing thermometer on motor surface.also can use thermo-tape or thermocouple Should wait until completely stop the motor to change the direction of induction single phase motor. If not, the direction can not be changed or take a little time to be changed. Keep connecting the capacitor to single phase motor also during the motor is running Application of Controller Unit Controller ANALOGUE TYPE RPM can adjust from the volume on the front. Simply can connect with motors Applicable motor: -V12 (T.G 12 voltage type) DIGITAL TYPE RPM can adjust from the switch on the front also visually confirm the numbers and has functions of Slow run & Slow stop. Applicable motor: -V12 (T.G 12 voltage type) SR CONTROLLER (PACK TYPE) RPM can adjust from the volume on the front. Also has functions for electric brake and operating from far distance. CE type is same size as SS high output type. Applicable Motor: -S12 (T.G 12 voltage) SS STANDARD CONTROLLER (PACK TYPE) RPM can adjust from the volume on the front. Also have functions for electric brake and Slow Run & Slow Stop. Applicable Motor: -S24 (T.G 24 voltage) SS HIGH OUTPUT CONTROLLER (PACK TYPE) Basic functions are same as SS Standard but also can make run several control packs which are parallel connected with one (1) variable resistance. operating so be able to control the motors in same speed. Applicable Motor: -S24 (T.G 24 voltage) 25

6 Connecting Capacitor. (Only for single phase motor) #187 Inside wiring of capacitor is as the picture on the left. The capacitor has two terminals Use #187 series of terminal in case of connecting by terminals. 7. Overheat Protection Caution) In some cases, Capacitor can be in electric charging status after using. In this case, the electric shock can be occurred by touching the terminal part. So please discharge electricity certainly when you keep the motor after using Overheating Protection SPG motor has two type of protect functions prevent from overheat Thermally Protected The motor stops on fixed temperature by TP operation. It automatically works again after down the temperature. Should turn off the power when you check the motor. Open Temperature of TP : 120 C 5 C 8. Assembly with Option items 8. 1 Assembly mounting plate Helical (gear screw) shaft type Caution)Please be careful when you assemble motor. There must be no gap between Motor FLANGE side and Gear Box. Please assemble softly SHAFT and GEAR BOX. Gear teeth may be affected by strong press. Caution)When you inspect motor after operating TP, the electricity power must be turned off. Sudden motor operating can make the accident Impedance Protected The wire impendence gets bigger to interrupt input current of motor when it abnormally locked Round shaft type Impedance protected type is exclusive use for all 3W and 6W motors. Therefore, these motor does not have TP

7 9. Assembly with Option items When your motor does not operate normally, check the following points and take the necessary steps. If the motor still does not work even all result are normal after checking, pleasecontact to head office or local agent but do not disassemble the motor. Motor is too hot (The housing temperature is getting over 100 C Is rated power source is applied? Is ambient temperature over +40 C? Is capacitor connected as diagram and same value as written on name plate? 28 PHENOMENON Motor does not rotate, or runs in slow Motor runs or doesn't sometimes Motor rotates in a wrong direction CHECK POINT Is proper voltage applied to the motor? Are lead wires connected correctly? Is the load too large? Is there any disconnection on terminal? If use terminals? Is capacitors connected as diagram and same value as written on name plate? Is proper voltage applied to the lead wire for electro brake? Are lead wires connected with controller correctly? Are lead wires connected with power correctly? Is there any disconnection with terminals? If use terminals. Is capacitors connected as diagram and same value as written on name plate? Is wiring correct as instructed in the connecting diagram? Confirm the diagram again. The direction of rotation of output shaft may be reserved due to the reduction ratio of gear head. (refer to Gear head manual)? Is capacitor connected as diagram and same value as written on name plate? Did you view of the motor from the wrong direction? (Instructed CW and CCW from the view of motor output shaft side) Are lead wires connected with controller correctly? Sounds abnormal noise Management and Completion of A/S (After Service) domestic agents or overseas agents Corrective action for required A/S 접속부 Head office Are motor and gear head mounted correctly? Did you use same type of gear head shafts as motor shaft? 10. Formalities of A/S Occurrence complaints or damages of products. Acceptance complaints or A/S Requiring A/S SPG can exchange and compensate inferior motors according to each case of inferior motors status which are after serviced. We can claim the cost based on the inferior motors status. 29
